A quick adorably-illustrated story about teamwork! The concept of the fairies is lovely and the characters were all delightful in their own way :)

YES!! I absolutely loved this title!

This graphic novel was such a delightful read. The art was amazing and really worked with the text to bring the story to life. The characters were absolutely wonderful! With any graphic novel sometimes it's a bit hard to bring characters to life for me. I often find them as two-dimensional at best, but that is not the case with THE SPRITE AND THE GARDENER.

As an avid gardener myself who owns a hobby farm, I wished that I could invite the sprites to join me in my gardens. I highly recommend this title for anyone who may be looking for a feelgood read, or maybe hoping to find a bit a spring in the drab winter months.

This sweet story, of a sprite new to the area and a lonely novice gardener, is perfect for elementary and middle schoolers (though I certainly enjoyed it as an adult).

The new sprite doesn't know anyone or feel like she fits in. She decides to help some struggling plants, using magic that most sprites no longer use. So begins a friendship with a kid trying to surprise a family member by creating a thriving garden. That action has a far greater impact, as the sprites come together to utilize their specific talents, in cooperation with humans.

Sometimes I need a short and fun Graphic Novel and this one was perfect for that.

I really liked the color scheme and aesthetic and it was nice to look at. The story itself consisted of hardly any words, but that wasn't bad because the pictures are meaningful enough.

I would also be interested in a second book because I think the story has a lot of potential!

In a world populated with fairies, one works to save a gardener's green thumb.
This sweet story is absolutely amazing! I fell in love with the color pallet and overall aesthetic of the design. It will be the perfect book to read during colder months. A short read for a short day filled with sunshine and bright colors will help to lift the spirits of readers.
I am so excited to add this book to the middle school library. A lot of kids are asking for books on fairies and books that are cottagecore, this story will be perfect for them.

The Sprite and the Gardener was utterly delightful. The art was beautiful and colorful. The story was sweet and comforting. I can't wait to read more by Abrego and Whitt.

The real shining start for this book is the art, it is truly one of the most beautiful graphic novels I have ever read. It is so intricate and lush, with so many small details I could look at it for hours. I loved how each sprite was different, and their design helped create a sense of distinct personalities and roles.

I didn't give this five stars because I feel like it should have been longer! I would have liked to spend more time expanding on the characters, and I would have loved the montage scenes to be fully fleshed out pages. It would have been nice to see more detail of how Wisteria learnt to use her magic, and also how the relationship between her and the gardener evolved as they worked together.

The Sprite and the Gardener is a beautiful and simple story about a young sprite who is discovering her passion and magic for gardening. Once, some time ago Sprites worked in gardens to help nurture and grow the plants. Since that time however, humans have discovered various different types of flower foods, like fertilizers that have taken the place of the Sprites. Now these little folk spend their days talking and flitting around.
Wisteria has moved to a new place, and not yet comfortable with her new friends begins to work in a small garden she discovers struggling. While doing so she discovers her own magic, and meets a human friend - helping them on their journey as well. This story is so, so incredibly sweet and light but has a core of great message. Finding your own passions, your own magic, and finding new friends and family. It’s a testament to the outdoors as well, a clear love of flowers and gardening on each page.
All of that is supported by the absolutely stunning artwork. The amount of detail per frame is jaw-droppingly beautiful. I adore the attention to detail each and every sprite has. Every hairstyle and outfit is unique and the washes of color draw attention to the linework and detail instead of distracting and making it busy. Like the story, the color and line work is both simple and complex.
Overall I think this is a graphic novel that I’d recommend to fans of any age. I think Cozy fantasy or graphic novel fans especially will love this. It’s beautiful and short, but one you can revisit and enjoy each time thanks to the wonderful artwork.

This was a very fast read, it was cute but I feel like I did not care much about the story because it was too fast paced, disjointed and confusing sometimes. But if you want a short graphic novel with nice illustrations, this is for you.

I was immediately drawn in by the artwork, which is absolutely beautiful. The story is on the short side, and because of that, it doesn't feel as substantial as I would have liked, nor is the world building very detailed. Regardless, I did really enjoy this, and I thought it was a super cute and beautiful graphic novel.

3.25 stars! This was super cute. Thank you to netgalley & Oni Press for an e-arc of this graphic novel. This was such a sweet story about a garden of sprites. Their species used to take care of plants and nature, but with the cultivation of humans, they don’t feel needed anymore. This graphic novel is just a short moment where humans & sprites team up to spruce up a garden gone to seed… yes that was a lot of plant puns.

I thought it was cute & sweet. It definitely was a bit short plotwise and a bit shallow cgaracter or themes wise, but the art is really where this shines. The unique style and soft pastels meeting the slightly manga esque humans worked really well & really set this apart from other graphic novels. I enjoyed myself a lot & it took my mind off of stress & stomachaches.

This was a pretty cute, beautifully drawn graphic novel! I loved the focus it had on mythological elements with the sprites and their role in making plants grow and thrive, and how it slowly was taken over by humans. I also really enjoyed how much this focused on friendship, and wish it had extended this even further! VERY wholesome tho, and the fact that the sprite wanted to help make the garden beautiful just to make the gardener smile and be happy was SO cute!

Recommend if you want something beautiful, quick and wholesome!

I really enjoyed reading this graphic novel, “the sprite and the gardener” is a really good example of how we all could work together and achieve more than we ever could do alone. I have never read a book like this, I think that’s what makes it so special. The authors really made work of this book and you can see that!

The art in this graphic novel was absolutely stunning! A cute story about the importance of teamwork.

This is a beautiful story filled with love and loneliness that is conquered by a common interest. The short story feel that the novel gives perfectly fits the first drawing that came out about the story years ago. I remember seeing the story page when it first came out and spread around the internet, and being able to now read this book after years of thinking back to that first drawing is one of the most incredible feelings.

Like I initially said, this story fits into the feeling of a short story that that first drawing gave from so many years ago, and it really amplified my feelings with the beautiful color palette, the sweet story, and the show of love our main fairy Wisteria had for her gardener and the plants inside it.

The fonts that made up the beginning and the end were not dyslexic friendly, but they fit the feeling and the theme that both the beginning and end needed to give us in order to lead us in and out of our story.

This was a lovely work, especially thanks to the short story feel of it, the incorporation of colors which compliment each other and enhanced the story, and the story itself. I will be recommending this title to any LGBT+ youth who ask for recommendations!

This was a sweet and innocent book about gardening, fairies, and the importance of working together. The artwork really brought out the fanciful and whimsical nature of the story.

I enjoyed this as a cute little fast read and there are lessons to be learned for young readers. I thought the art and story were pretty good but I just did;t enjoy it as much as I have other books with a similar story.

The art in the grapphic novel is beautiful, the colors very vivid. I love the idea of anything fae. I enjoyed the concept art at the end. The story about the gardener wanting to bring life back to her mothers favorite past time was sweet coupled with the fairy trying to find itself in a world that no longer seems to have need of them.

Omg! Did I just read the cutest book ever?!

Usually, the problem I have with graphic novels is that sometimes are beautiful but lacks plot or vice versa but this book is beautiful, unique and magical in every single way. The illustrations are awestriking, and the plot just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Loved the story, it was about how a Wisteria and a group of sprites who feel redundant in modern society what with coming of fertilizers and advancements in technology and new ways of harvesting and gardening. The simple joy of gardening is missing.

But Wisteria decides to try and revive a forsaken garden. It is a story of friendship, the art of gardening, the joy of hard work. The story made me realize how I want to have my own garden someday as well as the lost myths about the sprites as the caretakers of the life around us. It made me feel happy, the working together and the more help, the better motto!

If you love gardening, you must read this and if you want to enjoy beautiful book with some warm beverage and feel all cozy, I will definitely recommend this graphic novel.
