This is a cozy warm hug of a book. Everything about it is cute and warm. The art is beautiful and reminds me of an elevated Steven universe type style. Every character is just a sweet happy person and everyone works together with no serious drama about it. The Sprite and the Gardener reminds me a lot of K O'Neill's tea dragon society because of the cute art style and warm cozy happy feeling I got from reading it.

5 stars.

This graphic novel is an absolute DELIGHT - concerning the joy, hard work, triumphs, challenges and pure magic that is gardening. The illustrations and colour palette are truly delightful, as is the story itself. It's well written, with great character development and such a sweet plot line.

This would make a sweet gift for any avid gardener (young through adult, alike).

The fact that this is a debut graphic novel from both authors/illustrator is surprising. I hope we see much more from them.

My only qualm (and perhaps this will change by publication), is that the text is quite small. I had to zoom in on my laptop to be able to read this - especially the opening and closing story parts that are done in a different font.

Much gratitude to the publisher, Oni Press, and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy, in exchange for my honest review.

I received the ARC for free via NetGalley for an honest review.

This graphic novel is about a neighborhood named Sylvan Trace, where a sprite named Wisteria is new to the area and tries to find her place. She meets Elena the human gardener and they learn the values of teamwork.

Themes include fitting in, making new friends, teamwork, and playing to your strengths.

I recommend this for readers both young and old. This book is cozy and wholesome and the art is dazzling. The way that the light is drawn is astounding. Between the light and the charming vintage art style, it’s reminiscent of a Miyazaki movie. The way the eyes are drawn really makes the characters come to life with shimmering eyes!

The Sprite and the Gardener is a sweet story that follows a fairy who wants to use her magic to help a new gardener create a beautiful garden. This story is simple and short, but it is full of so much feeling. It feels like a new little mythology being played out in wonderfully warm colors. I loved the overall comforting vibes this book provides and the art is stunning. A must read for anyone who loves graphic novels or gardening.

This was the cutest little story! I loved the main character and the illustrations! The drawing style is gorgeous and this whole graphic novel feels like Spring!
The only thing I will mention that the actual plot was lacking a bit, but the wholesomeness made up for it!
Highly recommend if you want to experience a little dose of happiness.

A heartwarming tale about fairies and humans who share a love of nature that will amaze you. It has a beautiful art style, story, and lessons about teamwork that are perfect, especially for young readers.

It makes me want to have my own garden too, with many purple flowers!

Thank you so much, NetGalley and Oni Press, for this wonderful ebook.

A really lovely story that feels like a warm hug
If you love nature or can appreciate the beauty of it, this is definitely the right book for you.
It has a lovely story, sweet characters, touches upon deep feelings but is overall light reading material.
It is not quite my favorite drawing style, but overall very nicely done, so I definitely appreciate the work that was put into this. If you enjoy the cover art and generally like nature - go read this.

Many thanks to Oni Press and Netgalley for the digital copy of this graphic novel!
This is such a quick and cozy read about a very beautiful garden, a (wannabe) gardener and the little sprites that once were the caretakers of the flora before humans appeared. It's really a cute, short story and even inclusive in its own little way!

The current rating is 4.5
It's a beautiful graphic novel that tells the story of tiny garden fairies, who feel that they are no longer needed because humans have taken care of the gardening ever since they arrived, with their chemicals and so on.

We follow Wisteria who feels that she does not fit in with the other fairies so while she is wandering around the neighborhood she comes across a deteriorated garden and begins to help it to flourish again.

I thought it was a beautiful story of friendship, acceptance and understanding that one can start to make a difference despite the fact that others say that things are not done that way.

I loved it.

This was the definition of a cosy read. The art style was stunning; really whimsical and warm. The way the magic was portrayed really took my breath away at times.
The story was simple, sweet and warm, leaving me feeling like I had just been laying in the soft summer sun all day.
This was an absolute joy to read; great for all ages!

Such an adorable story, complemented by beautiful, colourful art! But mostly, I loved the concept. I've read so much urban fantasy but this is perhaps the first time when I've read about magical creatures (sprites) peacefully coexisting with humans and caring for nature together.

It's short but heartwarming and I definitely recommend it.

I love this graphic novel. A simple story about asking a help and working together. I love the art style, the color palette, and how short the story yet it deliver the authors' message beautifully. The sprites appeared in different appearances and I love how diverse their skin color and body size are. I cried as a reader when I saw the characters' happy face and the beauty of flowers blooming and plants growing. A strong graphic novel debut and I want to read more from them. I recommend this graphic novel for everyone who wants to read a lighthearted, quick, beautiful and happy story about plants, human and sprites.

This was very cute. The art got lost a bit in the digital version but I love the concept and it's a perfect quick queer graphic novel!

Also just a note that the sprites are all different sizes and there's a fat one and I love her.

Such a cute little graphic novel with beautiful artwork! I am a huge fan of plants and gardening, and this brought back some wonderful memories of planting the garden with my grandma when I was younger. Short, sweet and a beautiful story. Note: I was given an advanced copy to review via NetGalley.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for this honest review.

This was super cute, both in terms of storyline, character design and artwork. I would have liked a bit more, hence why it’s not a 5 star. But ultimately this was both quick, cute and enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for this copy for an honest review!

Whimsical, sweet, and pastel, this graphic novel is a simple tale of friendship, teamwork, and connection in the beauty of nature. Wisteria is a sprite new to town who, even though sprites no longer actively look after nature because humans do that now in their own ways, wants to be more useful. She finds her perfect opportunity and runs into a human trying to do much the same.

Perfect for spring! It made me look forward to when the flowers will start blooming again.

I recommend this for the art, sweet story, and especially for younger audiences although I found it charming as an adult too. Fans of graphic novels and light themes will definitely enjoy this!
