This book was so cute!

It was such a short story and the authors manage to make you care about the characters in a way i can't really describe.
The illustrations are phenomenal and they were a pleasure to see, they add to the message of the book in a truly beautiful way.
The overall message is about friendship given that the book revolves around Wisteria, a garden sprite, starts helping Elena, a human girl, to grow her garden in order to surprise and please her mum, who works long hours throughout the day and can't tend to it anymore the way she did.

Rii Abrego and Joe Whitt created a wonderful story that i was lucky enough to read and now have in my life.

I really love it.
The story is so cute and at the same time it's about inclusiveness and diversity.
The designs and colors are beautiful. The fairy protagonist is gorgeous with her bright eyes and the gardener is a good person who doesn't deny hard work.

This is very pretty, but it's so short. I worry parents won't buy this for their kids because it won't entertain their kids for very long. Really lovely art style though.

Personal rating:
3.5🌟, rounded up to 4🌟

I am so happy to be able to experience this. It's a really really great read especially during spring. All the flowers, even the bright spring-y colour palette choices in this graphic novel scream said season.

Sure, the drawings are a bit busy for my tastes but ultimately it didn't hinder me from enjoying this graphic novel. The story's a bit simplistic for my taste, though. The feels is not fully there. But hey at least it's a treat to look at, amirite?

This lushly illustrated little graphic novel tells a tale of humans and garden sprites, of finding your passion, and of working together. Wisteria is a sprite who longs to once again tend gardens, a calling that the sprites have given up since humans came on the scene. She chances upon a hapless gardening human and secretly begins helping them out. The story that unfolds is sweet and charming and perfect for spring/summer. I was reminded of The Tea Dragon Society series while reading- just a lovely slice of life with fantasy spliced in.

This graphic novel is a perfect pairing of drawing and storytelling styles. The bright colors and character styles make this cute story about finding friends and communities coming together a truely enjoyable read. While nothing that happened in this story was surprising, it was beautifully told and a well-timed reminder of how much better communities work when they work in harmony. Both the sprites and the gardeners were doing fine on their own, but only by joining forces did they and the garden thrive. A beautiful book both insde and out that I cannot wait to recommend to my patrons.

"The Sprite and the Gardener" is such a precious, heartwarming story! The ecological message and story of people and fae coming together to tend to a dying garden was a sweet one. This was a fast read with a diverse cast of characters, but the art style kept me on the pages long after I'd taken in the dialogue and plot. Highly recommend!

I started reading this arc but sadly didn't manage to finish this in time before it expired and thats my own fault.

This was a really cute book that was such a quick read. I love the art style so much in this and it really struck a chord in my faerie-loving heart. Honestly, this is a really short graphic novel, but it took me over an hour to finish just because I was mesmerized by how beautiful some of the sections were. It was whimsical and fun and sort of the perfect quick, spring read!

The art was detailed and I often found myself lingering at the pages longer than I should.

Really gorgeous graphic novel, a cute set of characters and a lovely ecological message at the same time. The sprites have to protect flowers and nature which isn't easy when people have little time or thought for their gardens or green spaces. One young sprite tries to change that, and when she sees a gardener who really cares, she thinks she and the rest of the sprites should lend a helping hand!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

Sprites, Gardens and Flowers- OH My!

What an adorable graphic novel with exquisite illustrations. I appreciated the theme of working TOGETHER with nature (and sprites!!) and to care for all living things.

What a great story for fairy lovers and future gardeners 😊

Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & Oni Press

Long ago, the sprites cared for and guided nature. But now, the humans have that completely under control. Time to sit back, relax, and look at the pretty gardens.

But Wisteria is young, and is curious about the old ways. So, it’s time for some magical experimentation.

This is a quick pick-me up of a graphic novel. A 15 to 20 minute read, with very low stakes. The flower artwork is stunning, and the sprites are as pretty and diverse as the foliage. This book is all about the vibes, really.

Now that spring is here, I think this would be a good pick for any younger reader who is about to test their own green thumb.

Advanced reader copy provided by the publisher.

This was a cute story about a girl getting help from a sprite to fix up her garden. This had a great lesson on how we need to work together and care for our planet. I really enjoyed the story and the artwork. I would have loved more backstory into how things were and how they changed in the end. Overall, this was very fun.

Thank you NetGalley and Oni Press for this eARC. All opinions are my own.

Thank you, Oni Press and Netgalley, for the ARC!

This one is very much adorable, this makes me feel like walking in a flowery path and the fairies are dancing around. A sweet book with warm little message implied in the story. A quick read when all you need is just a distraction from life.
