Thank you to Net Galley and Oni Press for allowing me to read an arc in exchange for an honest review! The Sprite and the Gardener is a beautifully illustrated story that follows the sprite wisteria and her friends on a short journey in the local gardens. I love all the little sprites and their names/personalities, I hope we get more from them in the future! The story focuses on collaborating with others as well as finding one’s purpose and it’s done in a beautiful and simplistic way. I would love to read more stories from the sprites in the future showcasing other little lessons! I’ll definitely be buying a physical copy once I’m able!

[TBA: I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.]

What a pretty, cute, and comfy graphic novel - I loved it! If you enjoyed K. O’Neill’s *Tea Dragon Society* series, this is definitely for you.

We meet Wisteria, a magical sprite who makes it her mission to spark joy in a girl’s life by helping her garden to bloom.

The artwork gave me 70s vibes and reminded me of old cartoons I used to watch as a child. The experience of reading this wholesome little story was almost soul healing, and the theme of collaboration and friendship made my heart sing.

The only criticism I have is that it was too short: I could have spent so much longer in this world! Very much hoping for a sequel (or any other material from the creators).

This was so cute! A perfect read for springtime--it's a short book full of gorgeous, whimsical illustrations and a quick read with a charming message. Meant for all ages, this is one of those wholesome, heartwarming stories, sure to leave you smiling. I'd definitely like to own a hard copy of this for my shelves--it'd be good for a quick pick-me-up or just when you need the reminder that it's okay to ask for help.

This book was so short and cute. It shows the idea that if something is too big for someone to do alone, it’s better to do with friends.

This is an absolutely adorable debut graphic novella. The story is sweet, the characters are distinct, and the art? Ohmygod the art. The art style gives the entire book an even more magical quality. Everything from the color palate to the expressions to the diversity of character design is exceptional. The plot itself is very simple -- a sprite finds a garden to fix and eventually works with the human who owns it to create something truly special. There's not a lot of depth there, but not everything has to have that. This is the epitome of a feel-good read: under 100 pages, nothing triggering in sight, beautiful art. Definitely worth picking up.

nothing much really happened plot-wise, but it was colourful and i liked the art (especially the way the expressions were drawn) :]] probably just not my type of book but it was definitely a cute and short read !

This was a quick and incredibly wholesome read! I thought that the artwork was beautiful. Additionally, the overarching message that the best way to tackle a problem is to work together was wonderfully portrayed.

I'm also a huge Fantasy reader so I loved reading about sprites and their involvement in nurturing nature! Wisteria and Elena have my whole heart!

A short but sweet graphic novel about community, friendship, nature and magic. The Sprite and the Gardener is a whimsical story about a sprite named Wisteria who begins to question why sprites no longer use their magical abilities. Finding a neglected garden, she uses her latent abilities to help the plants and forms new connections along the way. Like the plot, the art is soft and flowery, perfect for a fantasy/magical realism story. It's a quick read but the wholesome story that would be well-suited for those looking for someone light.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with copy of The Sprite and Th Garderner

This is the sweetest story that won't take long to read, but will leave a mark on your soul.

In addition to the fact that the work of the artist is unusual, this style reminded me of the cartoons of my childhood in style, which plunged me even more into the wonderful atmosphere of this graphic novel.

In addition to the cuteness of this work, I cannot help but note the message embedded here: do not be ashamed to ask for and accept help, do not be ashamed to offer it, because sometimes a task that is beyond the power of one person can easily be performed by two

I rate this graphic novel 4.5 out of 5 and look forward to more work from the author

I was given early access via NetGalley and I’m so glad I did!! This is such a cute short story about garden sprites, the illustrations were beautiful and I adored the colour palette. Can’t wait to read more by this author, would love the story to have been longer so my hopes is that there’s a sequel!

This was a very cute and fun story with adorable characters and great representation. I loved the metaphors and the lessons that could be drawn from this book. There were some parts where I did wish there would be a little bit more words, because I didn't entirely feel that the drawings were enough for me to follow the story. I really enjoyed the artwork and the vibe overall, though. So cute! Such good characters! Great portrayals of teamwork and breaking out of the status quo for the better.

Hermoso dibujo y hermosa historia.
Disfruté mucho el arte y la historia, el cómo el personaje principal se esforzaba para arreglar el jardín porque era algo que hacia con la mamá.

Such a cute and sweet simple story. I could so imagine this as something to read with kids to learn about sharing and kindness. The art style is unparalleled with incredible detail and just so gorgeous to look at. Love this world, would love to see more.

This book is such a cute idea and has adorable illustrations. I wish the background colors were on a different side of the color wheel than the foreground illustrations, as their similarities made it a little difficult to see the difference between the two. I really like that teamwork was at the core of the story and that it doesn't matter the size of the person contributing.

The Sprite and the Gardener is a beautiful story told through stunning illustrations. If you like the works of Katie O’Neill then you will fall in love with this story. The story is about following your heart, helping others even when you’re the only one doing it, and being your best self.

Sprite and the Gardener is a graphic novel sweet it’ll make your teeth hurt. It’s an adorable story about sprites who used to (but no longer) help gardeners grow plants and one curious, little sprite who wants to change that. While the characters were very wholesome and the story was charming, the best part of this graphic novel are the illustrations. The Sprite and Gardener might contain the most breathtakingly beautiful illustrations I’ve ever seen. Being so short, it shouldn’t have taken to long to read, however I spent so much time reading it because I couldn’t stop staring at every page. Every graphic novel fan should pick this one up!

The story is well written, is funny, educative, and lovely to read. If you want to create a garden with your children or your inner self this is a good read to jump on it! The characters are friendly, and illustrate the good side of working on a team.
