Have you ever heard of a parakeet that is a prankster? I haven’t! A prankster is usually someone who plays tricks and practical jokes on people. When the family who has just moved into their new home, they heard a noise and run to the door. When they open the door, they find a pie. The next thing they know is they are being surprised by forks covering their lAwn (the forks are pushed into the soil), then are getting dusted and stinker bomb. It is done by the neighbors who give up to their new neighbors. The next time they are pranked but who did it? They did see a parakeet but it can’t do the do pranks. They wonder if someone knows who pranked them? The neighbors said they didn’t and didn’t know who it would be.

In this entertaining novel, I found myself laughing while they pranked each other. I loved the rules given for planking. It was a surprise to find out who did the second planking. I think anyone who reads this storywilll be surprised too! It’s a book that I won’t forget!

An enjoyable use of words and images, wonderful for young readers (and accessible for older readers, too). I enjoyed the artistic and authorly pairing and the imaginative storytelling.

Pranks playfully played are always fun and when this one family, their uncle and some neighors get into the act, they need to watch out that they don't get caught! It's good that certain prank rules are included so that the fun can stay fun.

What I didn't care for at all was the talk of vampires, were-bear and were-parakeet. This turned me off I'm afraid so I will only give this book 3 Stars. Actually, I hovered between 2-3 stars but went with three because of the important 'rascal rules'. Another positive feature of this children's book is the vocabulary page of definitions that lend an educational touch to the reading experience.
