I don't enjoy writing anything negative, especially when reading is subjective to the person.
Unfortunately, I didn't finish this one and have no desire to continue.
This sounds like a brilliant and unique new fantasy, but making it half way through, it just wasn't for me personally.
The writing was great, the pacing was good as well. The characters all seemed to be building very well, I am quite sad that I just couldn't continue.
Hopefully one day, I'll be able to keep going. Congratulations on the debut novel!

When I saw that this book was a debut novel I was really impressed. This was a really good book. It reminded me Cinder and Empress of a thousand skies, two books I love. It has lot's of potential. The beginning was a little slow and some things aren't explained but overall is a 5 star read. At least for me.
If you are a fan of fantasy/dystopian novels you will enjoy this one. The story flowed well and was a fast read for me. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because there were a lot of things (especially at the beginning) that weren't explained. The characters are enjoyable even if I figured out a lot of the plot early on. This almost felt like a mash up of Cinder and Shadow and Bone.
3/5 ⭐️
Overall i thought this was an original and unique dystopian/fantasy novel. I found it hard to get into in the beginning, a lot of stuff was left unexplained or poorly explained. I wasn't crazy about to cyborg/robot part of the storyline. Seemed to be a bit boring for me. It was a tad messy and chaotic but I did enjoy the characters and was invested in the story line which is why i kept reading. The main character Valencia was very likeable. Would recommend to people who enjoy dystopia theme
A princess being forced into an arranged marriage and being abused by an evil queen; in a dystopian future where mutants and cyborgs exist.
This was a great read, original storyline, developed characters and so much going on it felt like reading an action movie. A touch of enemies to lovers and slow burn tropes, as well as the war between good and evil, freedom and tyranny.
I'm looking forward to the next installment.
On my sixteenth birthday, I’ll become a murderer.
Not my usual read but I do want to branch out and expand not only my reading but others as well. The cover is gorgeous. I love a princess theme and this story looks super intriguing. Will be sharing a full review soon. Beautiful cover as well.
I don’t want to kill anyone but it’s my duty as princess.
To stop the threat of the Cursed. The ones who destroyed our planet and most life.
If I don’t participate in the ritual to seal my initiation into the ruling council and solidify my mother’s empire, everyone will figure out the truth.
My truth.
That I’m a Cursed.
It gets worse.
My only hope rests in the hands of Ryker, whose sister I sentenced to death.
Of Blood and Crowns is a recommended read, especially for lovers of Fantasy and Dystopian futures.
The plot felt relatively fresh, which can be hard within this genre. Some areas were generally predictable, but that's easily overlooked with how enjoyable the story was. It was easy to feel invested in the characters and their journeys.
I do think there could have been some more world building in the beginning (e.g. when more background and descriptive language when mentioning the different territories initially).
Similarly, some parts of the storyline felt a little rushed (the first few chapters, Valencia and Ryker's relationship). I did actually have to double check that I hadn't missed any other information about Emery. The speed at which things developed could sometimes make the storytelling feel confused, but this wasn't a consistent issue throughout the book.
Overall this was a generally well-paced, original read, and more than I expected from a debut novel from a new author. I'll definitely be purchasing a physical copy when it's available,
Overall, this was a good read. We have our main character, Valencia, who I actually liked a lot. Sometimes in YA books the main character is a bit whiny and overdone, but I enjoyed her struggles and self assurance.
I adored Emery, she was one of my favorite characters, however Ryker was a mess.
He’s volatile and tends to chose the absolute worst option. Him and V have an insta love situation, pretty standard with YA, but I wish it was a little more slow burn, theirs made no sense to me as far as what happened to magically make them “need” each other.
It was a good read, somewhat messy and redundant with all the worst possible outcomes ALWAYS happening.
Good sci-fi futuristic story. The author did a great job with her character and world building. I look forward to reading book two and finding out what she has in store for this trio.
If you LOVE fantasy, then this is definitely the book for you! Personally, I found it difficult to get into and I just could not stay focused. Overall, great premise, intriguing plot, but unrelatable and illogical.
I’m surprised this is a debut novel!
The story progresses at a good pace, the characters are likeable and you end up wanting more.
I would have loved a little more worl building at the beginning of the book but overall this was a nice read.
Definetely going to pick up the next book!

I really enjoyed this book the concept felt quite fresh but the romance felt a little rushed. I think Valencia and Rykers romance was a little rushed as they didn't know each other very long, it felt sudden and confusing at times. The plot was very interesting, the choice between family and what's right was shown well with the struggles. It felt everyone had an agenda and it never seemed like what they claimed it to be, never fully good.
This gorgeous cover is just amazing!
Of Blood and Crowns by Raven More is a wonderful fantasy romance story.
So well written and the characters are just amazing.
The world building, character development, and interesting plot made this book so much fun!
I read this book very quickly. I didn't want it to end so soon.
This book will be perfect for fantasy lovers and I am definitely ready to see what she writes next!

3/5 stars. I thought the cover of this book was pretty and gave me A.G. Howard vibes, so I decided to check it out. Valencia comes across as the standard conflicted teenage girl with too much on her shoulders. The issue I had with this story is that there seemed to be a lot of the author telling us things instead of showing them to us. I did enjoy the enemies-to-allies connection between Ryker and Valencia. I think this story just suffered from not enough editing down and making the storyline flow more smoothly. Overall, a decent debut novel from a new author.

I loved this! What a great fantasy romance, full of swoony kisses and wonderful intrigue, I wanted more from the ending though.
