Velvet Evenings is a nice small collection of poems. The author’s emotions just jump off the page. Themes such as rage, gratitude, heartbreak, destiny, the self, and the splendors of nature are conveyed.

There were some language or words I wasn’t familiar with. This makes me feel like it is not accessible to everyone, pigeonholing it somewhat.

Sadly this wasn’t for me. I really struggled to get through the entire collection. Maybe I’m just not the right person for this, and I’m sure it will find the right readers. Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for a chance to read and review this book.
