Maisie has been happy to stay in Port Karadow running her dad's ironmongers shop despite attempts by her mum for her to reach higher!
Colm, her teenage crush comes back to the village after 10 yeara away in Australia and they meet up again.
A nice story centring around a summer festival and a rekindling of a love story.
A little predictable but I really enjoyed it

This is a fairly standard summer romance. Nothing startling about it, but the setting is described well and I enjoyed the characters. And not just Maisie and Colm; the surrounding cast came to life well too. Too many dogs though. I wish romances could lose this trope.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I have liked everything this author has written and this was up there with the best. Great characters and storyline and of course set in a wonderful location

Another Fantastic read from Cressida, Its always a pleasure to revisit Cornwall and meet old friends and make new ones along the way. I am really looking forward to revisiting in the future and seeing what more memories are made.

I’ve read all of the Cornwall books by Cressida but I didn’t really enjoy this one or the previous one. I think the idea has run out of steam now. It was a pleasant read but rather a boring start. The last third of the book I enjoyed. Colm was a nice character, Maisie was a bit too frustrating for me. I’d love to have seen the calendar and the mini whiteboard of Colm though! Hoping for something completely different from Cressida with her next book as I normally love her writing. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.

This was really relateable reading about Maisie and the photoshoot on the beach. Being a hobby photographer and previously a professional photographer I loved her reaction to the others saying how much they liked them.
I loved the blast from the past returning to town and Maisie doesn't know what to do with herself.
We've all had a crush at some point I think, when they speak to you and you go weak at the knees and you cant speak or if you do try it comes out as gobbledygook.
I really enjoyed following the story of whether Maisie and Colm would get together or whether he would remain her crush forever.
I laughed when I read the bit about the inflatable octopus, it is also part of the book where my heart was in my mouth for a little while.

Another charming and lovely instalment in the Cornish Cream Tea book series. Colm and Maisie were such a good fit for each other and though Maisie acted a little too quickly (causing the Third Act Miscommunication) I can't say her concerns weren't valid. Just talk to him Maisie! Luckily she had a strong friend group who (gently) told her off and they got back to where they needed to be.

This has all the hallmarks of a Cressida McLaughlin novel. The setting in Cornwall is gorgeous and very much part of the story. The characters we have met before reappear and through their friendships add to the uplifting community feeling. Most of all, there is the addition of two more characters and a possible romance.
Maisie is an interesting character who has known for a long time where she wants to be. She wants to stay near her childhood home in Port Karadow and to help her local community any way she can. Intrinsically kind, she has a real feeling for its local inhabitants. She also knows what she does not want. She has close ties with her Dad and her big sister but a more strained relationship with her Mum, who she feels she can never please. In fact. Maisie takes on a whole raft of jobs to prove to her that she is capable and can achieve.
Colm returns from Australia and obviously has a few secrets from his past. The chemistry between him and Maisie is clear and they have a close understanding although at times, they have quite a lot of communicating to do and Maisie tends to listen to the local gossip which causes problems. I loved the collection of dogs and cats which now have been gathered and who add to the humour. Full of friendship and life, this is a lovely addition to the series.
In short: second chances , friendship , community
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book

I received a free copy of, From Cornwall with Love, by Cressida McLaughlin, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Maisie loves her life in Cornwall, she has a great job, great friends, and a beautiful place to live, but she has no man in her life. Maisie life is going great until her ex Colm shows up, will they get back together? A great beach read, really enjoyed this book. Maisie is a great character.

The perfect summer read.
Maisie loves where she lives in Cornwall, working in her dads shop ready to take over it with her rescue dog Sprout and wouldn`t live anywhere else much against her mothers wishes..
Then her long time crush Colm returns from a decade away in Australia and the romance begins to fizz.
Great characters and a lovely description of Cornwall and a lovely community feel.
This is one of a series which I hadn`t read so can be read alone.
A heart warming read I definitely recommend.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC

One problem was when the book was on 66% loc 3230 I thought the chapters where the wrong way round, first Maisie sat eating the pasta with Colm winding his tagliatelle round his fork,
Then the next chapter they untangled themselves and realized they were ravenous so decided to put the pasta on.

It was the eighth book in the Cornish Cream Tea series, eighth! And it felt like this. If I were to judge it on its context and plot, I'd give it maximal 2 stars - it felt boring, predictable, repeatable, there is always the same patter - a new couple, beautiful setting, some animals, bad weather coming putting someone in danger and someone rescuing the person in danger which leads to a brilliant happy end. Gah. Same old, same old. Really.
But I'll try to pretend that I haven't read the previous book and that I'm not reading a copy of them. Cressida McLaughlin has a way with words and her novels are gentle and sunny, filled with characters that are full of flaws and who are having problems. She describes the setting and the surroundings in a lovely, descriptive way. What I need from Cressida though is that she gives her characers personalities. Maisie is a people pleaser and yes, she seems happy with it, and it gives her opportunities, but sometimes less is more. Colm asolutely didn't wow me, what was so special in him, except that he adopted a cat and looked good in a wetsuit?
I am in minority here, with everybody else singing this book praises and it's good so - probably I am too old already, or I don't only need beautiful setting. Didn't work for me, but can work brilliantly for you.

I do love a book by Cressida McLaughlin, I know I will leave its pages feeling happier and all smiley and fuzzy feeling. I loved how we get to reconnect with characters from previous books (although not needed to read) , I adore Cornwall, the Cream tea series, I just want to be in Cornwall in o d of Cressida’s books, that’s the only criticism I get character lifestyles envy. These are such feel good books and I can fully recommend any of her books, including this which is a beautiful addition to her collection
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Absolutly loved this new book by Cressida. Back to Port Karadow with all the familiar characters with some new ones for good measure.
Maisie has taken over the family ironmongers in the village. She loves her life here and can never imagine moving away. Her one true sadness though is when the young love of her life Colm, left 10 years ago to Australia with no explanation of his sudden departure or contact since.
Maisies life is busy. She has been roped into helping with the school quiz night alongside photographing a calender for the village and her day job. Add into this the mad idea that she can help change the venue of an upcoming festival to port karadow due to predicted bad weather.
Her world is suddenly thrown upside down with the reappearance of Colm. Keen to reaquant with Maisie but offering no explanation for the past 10 years, Maisie can't afford to be hurt again. Will she ever find true love?
An absolute joy of a book. Highly recommend.

Another fantastic read by Cressida. I loved this story and the characters. I loved how the characters from previous titles are in the heart of the story, not just side line characters.
A lovely summer read

Oh my, what a delightful read. How have I not discovered The Cornish Cream Tea Series. Absolutely loved this book and now need to go back and read all of the others. Perfect escapism!!!

As always, the Cornish cream tea series has brought the good stuff! Maisie and Colm were brilliant Main characters & I adored Sprout…the octopus inflatable was one of my favourite parts of the story!
If you want a warm, cosy, romantic read then this is for you.

This book was a fab read. I kinda knew what was going to happen between Colm and Maisie from the beginning but that didn’t stop me loving it. Loved the friendships that Maisie had and the community spirit was great. A lovely story. Always great to be back in Cornwall with Cressida McLaughlin.

It was very obvious from the start what was going to happen! However its the story in-between that for me decides how many stars it gets! This one is a bit meh, hence the 3 stars although the later third of the book is a bit more enjoyable than the earlier bits I thought.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From Cornwall with Love by Cressida McLaughlin
Maisie Winters has everything she could ever want. She lives in the idyllic Cornish town of Port Karadow, has a jammy job in her dad's shop, adores her rescue mutt, and has time to take the landscape photos she loves. While her best friend and sister left the town to chase big dreams in London and New York, Maisie stayed – she wouldn't leave her favourite place for anything … or anyone. When her long-time crush, Colm Caffrey, returns from a decade abroad, old feelings start to resurface. Maisie begins to ask herself if there might be one big thing missing after all?
OMG, why have I never read any books of this author yet? I didn't realise this is number eight in the Cornish Cream tea series, but you can read it as a standalone.
Even though Maisie is busy working at the Ironmonger, she also lets herself ropped into helping her friends. Maisie never takes credits for her hard work, and it certainly doesn't help her own mother constantly criticism her. Yet her Maisie friends think the world of her.
Maisie is so passionate about her hometown, and you really feel her love for Port Karadow. She is definitely the kind of friend you want in your life. I loved all the characters mentioned in the book. I believe some of these are mentioned in the other Cornish Cream tea series.
I enjoyed the 'will they, won't they' aspect of the story and was really rooting for Masie & Colm.
@cressmclaughlin described the surroundings and scenery so beautiful that you feel like part of the community.
This was such a feel-good book that will leave you wanting more and definitely one to add to your summer reads. It is the perfect summer getaway!
Thank you, @harpercollinsuk, @netgalley & and @cressmclaughlin, for the advanced copy.

Set in beautiful Cornwall, this is a warm, touching tale full of friendship, trust issues and sparkling escapism. It really is a delight to read. An emotional and addictive story. It uplifts and cossets. Ì enjoyed it immensely.
