You know it’s a good day when you turn on your kindle to find your most anticipated book of the year has arrived!
Yes that’s right Cressida Mclaughlin is back with another book in the much loved Cornish Cream Tea series titled From Cornwall with Love where we are reunited with all our favourites from the previous books as well as opening our arms to new characters too.
Our protagonist is the lovable Maisie who has grown up in Port Karadow and whilst those she knows and loves around her all seem to want to grow their wings and escape Maisie is true to her roots and wants to stay put, in her eyes what more can somewhere else offer her when her Cornish town has everything to offer. The one thing she is missing is romance, after having her heart broken when her teenage love disappeared without a moments notice. But is love about to blossom when an unexpected arrival returns to Port Karadow?
This is everything I hoped it would be and more. I don’t know how Cressida Mclaughlin does it but this series is just unstoppable, at the end of each book I am desperate for more they just don’t tire or lose their spark. The community spirit in in abundance in this book with characters who we already know and love all coming together but don’t be put off if you have yet to read the previous books in the series because you can still follow this book easily as a stand alone ( but boy are you missing out on a wonderful series, where have you been hiding?)
Maisie felt like she hadn’t really found her way in life but by the end we realise this is more from what is pushed on her by her mum, Maisie is actually very content with her life the way it is and I loved this about her.
I can’t not mention the surfer god that is Colm, he certainly got the pulse racing amongst the women in Port Karadow and he was a wonderful introduction to the series too. An ideal man that not only has looks to melt the strongest heart but also has a pure heart of gold too.
This is quite simply a feel good heavenly romance with an idyllic setting and a host of friends for entertainment and support, the perfect concoction for a Summer read. Roll on the next book in the series, I am already so excited for another return.

Thoroughly enjoyed catching up with old favourites in this latest novel. This time we encounter Maisie who works in her father's shop. Her old friend has returned from Australia after 10 years. A fantastic summer read.

It was such a treat to delve back to Cornwall and read about all the goings on with all the characters. This is a wonderful series and I do so very much enjoy the books. I do hope there is more to come in this wonderful series. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Another lovely addition to the series of books. Great to see how the previous main characters are getting on but loved the Maisie - Colm storyline. Also loving how the dogs are getting in on the act.
Will be recommending

Maisie Winters has everything she wants - she loves where she lives, doesn't feel the need to explore more of the world and does a job she loves. But she still doesn't feel complete. Her friends are all loved up, but the one person she wanted left 10 years ago, without saying a word, Then Colm Caffrey comes home, and it’s almost as though he’s never been away - almost.
I love everything that Cressida writes and it’s hard to believe this is book 8 in this series. As usual, the descriptions make you want to rush straight out and have a Cornish Cream Tea. I like the way that characters from the previous books are strewn through the story, which is so easy to read. It’s like a comfort blanket, you know what you’re going to get, and it’s got a real feel good factor.. We all want to live in a community like this. Highly recommended.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is the perfect end to the perfect series! I have really enjoyed the visit to Port Karadow and would possibly say this has been my most favourite book of the series - it's like visiting old friends who you can't wait to catch up with. Again well written with comedic and heart wrenching moments, This will be a definite recommendation when it is released.

A sweet, romantic novel, with feel-good themes of lost and found love, friendship, overcoming hurdles and community. I really enjoy the main characters' interactions and felt invested in the outcome. The settings were so well written that I almost felt I was there and in fact, really wanted to be as it was so lovely to imagine. There were quite a lot of supporting characters, who at times I lost the thread with; they were all valid and interesting but perhaps a little more detail would have supported understanding. Towards the end, Maisie's reactions seemed a little elongated which resulted in my frustration for the final hurdle to be overcome but that probably shows how much I was invested in her. A lovely read.

Oh Cressida, you've done it again, such a welcome return to Port Kadarow and continuing the lovely stories of the people that live in this wonderful corner of Cornwall, the gorgeous backdrop of the sea and the emotional, warm story of Maisie and Colm, thank you

Oh my. Can not believe it is book 8.. Who have thought the first cream tea bus book would lead us here. That said you can read as a stand alone. Maisie had never left Cornwall and had done well but she had always held a candle for Colm who vanished when she was 18. It was a lovely story of growing in confidence and having faith in your self. Standing up to an interesting character of a mother. . Falling in love. You had lots of characters you knew and Charlie who started it all. Absolutely loved it .

One thing you will come away with after reading this book: happiness. Ah I can never fault these books. Cressida McLaughlin knows how to write a great feel good book and I always leave feeling so warm, fuzzy and happy.
Returning back to Port Karadow and Porthgolow put an instant smile on my face and I always relish the chance to not only rejoin some of my old favourite characters but meet some new ones too. I loved Maisie and Colm. Their whole dynamic and set up was just adorable and ugh, the more I read the more invested I became and I couldn’t read it fast enough so I could get to the happily ever after. I’m never let down!
This one might be my favourite yet, although who am I kidding, I say that with every new Cornish Cream Tea series book and I love them all equally!
This is a series I hope will just go on forever and ever as picking up these books is like returning back to your favourite holiday. Disappearing into the cosy vibes of Cornwall, with a whole cast and crew of characters that have you wrapped in a community feel of utter love and friendship. I’m off to restart the series as I’m not ready to leave yet!

Ahh Port Karadow, I can hear the seagulls and smell the tang of vinegar. I'm glad to make a return visit via 'From Cornwall With Love', another delight from Cressida McLaughlin, the eighth in her series.
Proud local Maisie Winters doesn't regret her choices to remain in her beloved hometown, taking over the family shop and living with her dog in a gorgeous cottage she renovated. Her love life, however, has stagnated.
To Maisie's shock, teenage crush Colm Caffrey drops into her shop after a decade of silence, having moved without warning to Sydney leaving her devastated. Colm is back indefinitely and while its clear the spark from their teenage days is there, but will this leave her heartbroken again?
One of the strengths of this book, indeed the whole series, is its characters (spoiler alert: there's welcome appearances from previous books). McLaughlin creates characters that feel like friends with the same sort of vulnerabilities.
Maisie is the best sort of neighbour you'd want. She's resourceful, friendly and entrenched in community. I loved watching her growing confidence to stand up for herself to her ex-colleague Jeremy and, especially her mother. Colm was also a supportive sweetheart. He knew the best way to demonstrate to Maisie how serious he was, given his regrets over his departure.
This sweet slow-burn second chance is like the balm to one's soul. Read this book with a toastie, hot chocolate and the heater on high (unless you're in the northern hemisphere, in which case, read it at the beach). I am always happy to return to Port Karadow and look forward to the next visit, or really, any place Cressida McLaughlin wishes to take us lucky readers.
Thanks to Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for the ARC.
