A lighthearted, feel good story about a young vet, called Phoebe, who is starting her own Veterinary practice. After a broken relationship she has returned to her family property, Puddleduck Farm, where her vet's surgery is to be situated.
There is a love triangle which I dislike because someone always has to be the loser, but the story is good, the characters are likeable and there are many funny moments. Lots of cute animals too which is always a good thing.
I enjoyed my visit to Puddleduck Farm and will be happy to go there again in the future.
I loved revisiting Puddleduck Farm and getting to know everyone a bit better. I hope we get to spend more time with Phoebe and Rufus, Maggie and Eddie, Tori and Harrison as well as everyone else who make up Della Galton's books.
Lovely to be back at Puddleduck Farm with Phoebe and her family and friends. This book is heartwarming and funny with delightful characters you could imagine being friends with. It's a hug in a novel, a cosy warm cardigan on a cold winters day.
I received this advanced copy from Netgalley and Boldwood Books with no expectations of a review
This is a great read! This book is full of wonderful characters (both human and animal), beautiful setting and just enough emotions to keep you turning the pages. I loved it and highly recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy from Boldwood Books via NetGalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I loved this book so much, it follows on from the first one so, you know the characters already. I loved all the stories about the animals and the setting up of the new vets practice. This book had it all, intrigue, sadness funny stories and, of course, romance. I hope there will be more in this series, if there is count me in! My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
The second book in the Puddleduck farm series finds Phoebe opening her vet practice at the farm. We also catch up with Sam, Tori, Maggie, the enigmatic Rufus and the lovable Archie; I love both the animal and human characters. The animal antics are described so well. The human characters are realistically flawed and likeable. Phoebe's love life is in limbo but shows promise, and the book highlights important animal welfare issues through its characters.
It's a heartwarming and uplifting read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
What a lovely, cute feel good read, packed full of charming characters and adorable animals! This is the second book by this author I’ve read and they have both left me smiling!
We are back on Puddleduck farm as the title of the book suggests and Phoebe's dream of opening a vets is just about to come true although she isn't too sure about her brusque grandmother Maggie being a temporary receptionist as she might scare the patient's owners away !
Great to catch up with some of the characters from the first book but you certainly don't have to have read it to enjoy this one.
An enjoyable read
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I was interested to receive this book after reading book 1 and being so many unfinished story threads, however, sad to say I am not going to finish this one as it has all the hallmarks of being exactly like the first. I'm quite a way in and nothing really seems to be happening.
Sorry.
Back on Puddleduck farm with familiar faces from Book 1. Phoebe's dream of opening a vets is realised through the support of Maggie.
As the business grows from strength to strength can Phoebe find the dodgy rabbit breeder?
Is she able to open her heart up for romance?
Light hearted and easy read. Can easily be read as a standalone book too.
I have read the previous Puddleduck Farm book and was excited to have the opportunity to read an early copy of the newest one. This book was just as good as the previous one. Phoebe is opening her own Vet clinic. Sam is getting ready for a horse show. Rufus is trying to get past his PTSD so he can watch his son ride his pony in the show. There’s all kind of romance flying around in this book. It’s another good book taking place in a lovely location.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the early copy
Great to be back with the residents (human and animal) of Puddleduck Farm. The first book in the series, although enjoyable, did leave lots of loose ends & incomplete storylines, in particular the triangle of Phoebe, Sam & Rufus. So, I was looking forward to some of these loose ends being drawn together towards a conclusion in this book. Instead, it seemed to have been a frustrating continuation of the same will they won’t they / who will she choose saga and other than one, albeit passionate, kiss midway through nothing seemed to have changed, up until about 98% of the way through the book when finally there was some movement towards Phoebe making up her mind.
That being said, I did really enjoy reading this book. The characters are fully-formed & believable and the book kept my interest throughout as it is peppered with several storylines populated with friends, family and foes.
Although I did find the whole Groundhog Day feel of the storyline a bit frustrating & was left with still several loose ends that I felt were not satisfactorily tied up, this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I do hope there is a third instalment in this series.
From the first couple of pages I felt right at home within the pages of this book, and by the end of it all i wanted to do was cuddle a whole of of bunnies, while hoping that this story will do a lot of good for what I have to assume is a real life problem with breeding bunnies for cosmetic preferences.
It's a practice I had no idea about and couldn't help but feel sorry for any bunny born to those sorts of breeders,
I promise there are a lot of well treated animals in the book, in fact the vast majority and some of which have visits to Phoebe's new vet practice. And there are some incredibly amusing appointments, including both involving pets called Boris.
I absolutely loved everything to do with this book, enjoyed getting to know Rufus a bit more, as well as Toni and Sam. Phoebe's one attempt at a dating evening was amusing, and this book really is more about animals and love of them, than about their humans.
Actually that's not strictly speaking true we get plenty of storylines for the humans too, and I thoroughly enjoyed them all, and was totally hooked by this book.I am just loving this author's writing and already can't wait to read more from her.
An incredibly good second book in this series, and I am so keen to see what will happen to Phoebe, her friends, family and furry friends in the future. Just don't make me wait too long.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
The perfect book I needed to read to make me smile and escape reality. A relaxing, heartwarming and sweet story featuring lovely characters, beautiful setting and plenty of animals.
I loved this story and hope to read soon another featuring these characters.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine
Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an early review copy.
The story is about Phoebe as she opens her based at Puddleduck Farm.
No soon as she’s opened up, she’s busy seeing to the animals their owners bring in. But it soon becomes clear that someone is rearing loop-eared bunnies, that too illegally.
She and Grandma Maggie also find that the stream that’s runs through the farm has been contaminated, but they don’t know how. Tori and Maggie help Phoebe to ensure the person breeding is caught as well as find out what is polluting the stream, there’s also a possibility of Phoebe finding love.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I loved the characters, Maggie especially. They were all well developed and relatable,
There was also some issues highlighted in the story which will relating to PTSD which was handled sensitively.
Once again, the settings are so beautifully described, makes you wish you was there.
As I finished the last page, a thought popped into my head, I’ll just have to wait and see in the third book if it comes true.
You should add Rainbows Over Puddleduck Farm to you reading list as I highly recommend this book.
I liked it but I didn't LOVE it,, I thought there was plenty of plot to keep me interested, the characters were engaging and I would recommend this book to a friend! And I would pick another book by this author. However, there just elements that I think I would have liked to have seen more development.
What a wonderful feel good book based at Puddle Duck Farm. Phoebe, who is opening her own vets practice, takes on many challengers including a rabbit breeder and water pollution. This is a lovely story of family, friendship and of course romance. Add to the mix the animals and this is a book well worth a read. I hope there is another book in the series because leaving Puddle Duck Farm vets practice was like leaving an old friend behind.
When Phoebe opens a veterinary clinic on her grandmothers farm called puddle duck veterinary she is surprised to see her good-looking neighbor come to the opening with his son. Rufus is a good looking but socially awkward widow. Thankfully his son Archie is not. Her friends tease her about liking him and them having chemistry but Dr. Dashwood blows them off because it is just professional. Especially after his nine year old makes an appointment to get his guinea pig a health check up her name is the last a girl and he can’t wait for the doctor to meet her. She quickly forget about the handsome son of the Lord, at least for a little while her first patient is the rabbit Milo who is clearly from an unresponsible breeder. Her grand Maggie makes a note but when she sees another little rabbit who is too young to be away from its mother and has respiratory problems she wants to visit the breeder herself. After her and Roofus spend time together and share a kiss. When she doesn’t hear from him for over a month she doesn’t know what to think. Can Phoebe stop the breeder from making more sick rabbits and will Rufus get over being awkward long enough to tell her how he really feels? This book is another example of why I love BoldwoodBooks they have the best authors and it is a rare day that I give one of the authors a score less then five stars Rainbows Over Puddle Duck Farm by Della Gultin is certainly A great example. I love this book I love the great characters the animal talk the consciousness of caring for animals and bad breeders there’s just so much to love about this book not to mention the romance. I loved Rufus his son Maggie Phoebe… I just love this book. If you love feel good books you really need to read this book you not the disappointment I certainly loved it. I receive this book from NetGalley and Boldwood books but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

“ Three cheers to Della Galton for an eloquent story of friendship and the love and support of family and friends. ” - @dupuisshowreads
You should add Rainbows Over Puddleduck Farm by Della Galton to your February TBR list if you like delightful animals, engaging yet delightfully complex characters, and love-on-the-horizon romances!
The story follows Phoebe's journey as she opens her veterinarian practice at Puddleduck Farm in the New Forest. Once open, the business is busy, but soon it is demonstrated that someone has been illegally breeding loop-eared bunnies. They also uncover knowledge indicating the stream running through Puddleduck Farm has been polluted by an unknown source. With the help of best friend Tori and Grandma Maggie, they set out to bring justice to the breeder and discover the pollutant, with α side adventure featuring the possibility of love.
I enjoyed the characters. I’m a total Tori. There, I said it. I can only say this because Galton takes the time to develop earnest characters to which readers can relate. I also enjoyed how the characters have to overcome challenges. This story is an excellent read for PTSD and therapy representation. As someone with experience with both, it is refreshing to see them represented in literature without a stigma attached to them.
The locations are beautiful! As with the characters, Galton uses her unique writing style to describe picturesque settings you cannot help but want to visit. The story setting is an excellent backdrop for adventure. Due to this, I hope to see a third novel in this series and will be locating the first to read it as well. I was unaware this was part of a series, and I did not read the first book, “Coming Home to Puddleduck Farm,” however the book does not suffer because of this. The author does an excellent job filling in the character's backgrounds for the reader, so it works well as a standalone.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC!
I hadn’t read the first book in this series but to be honest had I not been told it was a second book I wouldn’t have known, it was a nice book there was nothing gritty or exciting but overall a nice read and I would probably read another in this series
