Another easy read from Philippa Ashley that sucka you in very quickly!

Miranda manages the Mount, but more than manages...it's been her salvation. When the son of the owner returns, Miranda must try to get on with him and her job.... But it's not as easy as it might sound.

The story throws you straight into the action, which I like. There's minimal scene setting, with most of the setting/background revealing itself organically within the story. The characters are largely likeable and, whilst the plot is quite predictable, there are surprises throughout the story.
It's a nice bit of escapism set in Cornwall..

A feel good romance with both action and heartache. I loved the setting for this story as I love the sea which is both relaxing and exhilarating. I think the premise is good and the characters are most likable. An ideal weekend read.

Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for an early review copy.

I really enjoyed reading this book, a page-turner that kept you hooked from the beginning. It was interesting to read about the characters, like Miranda and Jago.

So beautifully written and funny as well as emotional in in places.

I recommend this book. .

I love Phillipa Ashley books so was pleased to receive an advance review copy of Return to Cornish Bay.
This book didn't flow in the usual way though and I wasn't gripped - although the story seemed familiar.
On looking into it I discovered that this was originally published in 2012 under a different title. This explained why the writing was a little dated and not of the author's usual light and engaging touch.
This made it hard for me to mark it. It's a good story just not the usual high standard.

I enjoy Philippa Ashley's books and was looking forward to reading this latest release. However, I was disappointed to find that this was a re-release of a book written in 2012. The actual plot and setting were still brilliant and if anything, the plot is even more relevant now with a family selling their home and tourist venue to a big company. The setting as always is lovely with some gorgeous descriptions of the Cornish landscape.

However, I did feel that the characters hadn't aged as well. I didn't really engage with either Miranda or Jago and felt that the steamy fantasy section and sex scenes were a bit out of place. The story was also dated by specific references such as going to watch Hunger Games at the cinema.

I felt that this one was a disappointment after the author's more recent novels.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my ARC

This was a captivating read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about all the characters especially Miranda and Jago. It was a real page turner beautifully written to keep the reader on the edge of their seat wondering what would happen next. It was funny in places and emotional too.

Although this is a re-release of an older book (Miranda’s Mount) it was a new story for me as I hadn’t read its previous incarnation.
I like Phillipa Ashley’s style of writing, she always creates interesting storylines & populates her books with (on the whole) believable & fully-formed characters, and this book gives readers what we have come to expect from this author. In my opinion, this is perhaps not up there with her very best 5 star review books, but it is still a very enjoyable story set in amongst beautiful scenery,
This book is perfect for spring/summer-time reading.

Important to note - this is a re-release of an older book (Miranda's Mount) and not a new book.

Miranda is manager of St Merryn's Mount, an island in Cornwall with a small castle and village. When Jago St Merryn is called home by his mother, can Miranda handle the secret he shares with her and her own feelings for her boss?

This was definitely not one of my favourites by the author. Finding out it was an early work made sense, as her writing style has definitely developed and, in my opinion, improved. I didn't particularly like any of the main characters, although I did love Ronnie and Neem. The overall story was good, but the raunchy style was not what I was expecting.

This is an earlier work of Phillipa Ashley's. Previous titles are Miranda's Mount and Return to Castle Bay.
Jago has been summoned home to St Merryn's Mount by his mother. She wants him to take over the running of the Mount so she can travel.
Miranda works hard at the Mount but when Jago decides to sell can she change his mind?
A lovely cornish summer love story.
Thanks to Netgalley and Little Brown Books UK for the ARC in return for an honest review.

I liked this a lot. The scenery was breathtaking and so was Jago. He sounded like a dish!
Miranda was a troubled woman carrying a lot of baggage. She had found her home at the mount and worked her way up. Kagoshima the new lord of the mount was a rakish playboy who had reluctantly come home to Ron the castle but also to sell it and handover to new owners. I liked the scenery, the characters were engaging and this was a lot of fun.
Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

A really good read, lovely characters and storyline. However I was really disaappointed when I realised that it was a re-release of a novel I had read many years ago. Please let us know before we decide to read these book!

This is so difficult to rate. I realised that I had already read this book some years ago. I discovered in’s a re-titled book originally published in 2012. It would have been helpful to know this. I definitely assumed it was a new book.

Whilst it’s still a good read, the author’s writing had grown and developed so much, I am reluctant to recommend it to new readers.. her more recent books are so much better!

However in fairness, it’s still a 3 star read.

Whilst I enjoyed this story, it wasn’t my favourite by this author. Having said that the location was really interesting and I enjoyed the overall storyline.

It's always love to return to Cornwall with Phillipa. Clearly a well loved place by so many people especially Phillipa and you can tell just how much with the way it comes to vibrant life when you are ready her books.

This book was previously titled return to castle bay and also Miranda's mount. So you might have read this little gem before. Just like me. But it was lovely to go back and revisit the characters again.

In this book we meet Miranda who is the property manager of a gorgeous castle. She has worked tirelessly to keep the castle well run and to create a great place for visitors as well as a calm and peaceful place for herself to live in.

But then Jago returns to the castle. Ready to turn the place around for his aunt. Wanting to turn the place into a leasure centre. But Miranda won't give up without a fight and as the tension builds and they continue to lock horns. Could love brew alongside hate? Well you'll just have to read it to find out.

Put your feet up, relax, grab a hot drink and a blanket and journey with Miranda to the beautiful Cornish countryside.

I am a massive Phillipa Ashley fan so I was really looking forward to reading this. I was disappointed to find out that it is in fact a reprint of one of Phillipa's earlier books but under a different title. I think Phillipa's writing has developed and improved since this earlier writing. As such, I wouldn't recommend this to current Phillipa fans as it won't be the sort of story or writing they're used to or expecting.

I adore Phillipa Ashley books and the copy I read was a review copy. I was really disappointed to realise it was not a new book. Came out in 2012. I understand why authors do it but not good. Also Phillipa has got a better and better writer in 11 years. It was a nice story and I remembered it . Very hard to mark . If you like a nice love story set in Cornwall with a missing heir coming back. It is a nice read.
