Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This author is known for writing clean romantic fiction, and this book is no exception to the genre. I thought the link between Hope and Cabe (military) was interesting and introduced the opportunity for exploring the issues experienced by veterans, although this was a little over-egged at the end, as if we needed a lesson in understanding sacrifice and mental health problems. The subplot around Callie, her brother Ben, Spencer and the Coach did not interest me and seemed to be a way of filling extra pages. I didn't feel that this book was one of Debbie's best, it just felt like a very quick, light read with little substance.

This is a beautiful Women’s Fiction book, which I really loved reading.

This is the story of Hope and Cade, who come together after they have both been through a lot and are grieving. Together they heal, and they find solace in each other.

I especially liked the part of the book about the dog shelter, and the lovely dog that Hope got acquainted with and helped.

This is such a heartwarming and emotional book, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I recommend it highly.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

The Best is Yet To Come by Debbie Macomber

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Sphere and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blurb

A new beginning in charming Oceanside, Washington, is exactly what Hope Godwin needs after the death of her twin brother. There are plenty of distractions, like her cozy cottage with the slightly nosy landlords next door, and a brewing drama among her students at the local high school.

Despite having settled quickly into the community, something is still missing for Hope. That is, until her landlord convinces her to volunteer at his animal shelter. There she meets Shadow, a rescue dog that everyone has given up on. But true to her name, Hope believes he’s worth saving.

Like Shadow, shelter volunteer Cade Lincoln Jr., is suffering with injuries most can’t see. A wounded ex-marine, Cade identifies with Shadow, assuming they are both beyond help. Hope senses that what they each need is someone to believe in them, and she has a lot of love to give. As she gains Shadow’s trust, Hope notices Cade begins to open up as well. Finding the courage to be vulnerable again, Cade and Hope take steps toward a relationship, and Hope finally begins to feel at peace in her new home.

But Hope’s new happiness is put to the test when Cade’s past conflicts resurface, and Hope becomes embroiled in the escalating situation at the high school. Love and compassion are supposed to heal all wounds. But are they enough to help Hope and Cade overcome the pain of their past and the obstacles in the way of a better future?

My Opinion

This is the first book I have read in this series, but not the first book I have read by Debbie Macomber. For me I was able to read this book as a standalone but I feel like I didn't get the full enjoyment of this. This was a lovely, sweet story and I had a hard time putting the book down. A cosy read. I really enjoyed reading about Hope and a rescue dog Shadow.

Rating 4/5

This was the first time for me to read a book by Debbie Macomber. I am so happy I did read this book even though I struggled a bit at the beginning of the book and I almost gave it up but I am so happy I didn't because the more I got into the story the more I loved it and after a third of the book i was really into it! This book is all about second chances, hopes and love. This is such a beautiful story that really moved me. I can't wait to read another book by Debbie Macomber!!! I am giving this book 4 starts out of 5!

A lovely heartwarming story of two wonderful people who overcome their sadness by relying on each other. Cade feels guilty after surviving the attack on his army troops, and loosing his two best friends. Hope can’t get over the loss of her twin brother, and after meeting at the dog shelter and seeing how they each interact with the dogs and each other, friendship starts to grow.
As a school counsellor Hope sees problems for Spencer and the puppy eyes he has for his former friend Callie, and when all four deal with a drug problem at the school both couples get stronger and reliance on each other becomes important. A well written story.

The story of Hope and Cade. They meet at a local animal rescue. Both have their own reasons for being there - will it bring them together or keep them apart. An emotional read.

Another lovely book by Debbie Macomber. In this book we meet Hope who has moved to Oceanside for a fresh new start. Hope is going to be a history teacher at Oceanside high school. It is here that she meets Cade. They both have troubled histories and both are in desperate need of a friend and a fresh new start. This is another lovely book by Debbie who really knows how to draw her readers into the storyline. It has some sensitive topics that are written about very sensitively. The characters are great and it's a lovely book.

Plot: Hope has just moved to Oceanside for a fresh start, taking the job as the new history teacher at the high school. Cade, a veteran who has been court ordained to do Community service meets Hope at the Local animal shelter. Both need a friend, maybe even to fall in love but both of them have secrets that may keep them apart.

Review: I really enjoyed this book and its characters. It tackled a few important issues and was sensitively written. It had a great cast of characters both main and supporting. I would definitely recommend it.

This beautifully written book has a very aptly named main character, Hope, as that is what this book is about really. The hope that we all have within us that we can take that step to help us move towards the happier life we dream of.

Both Hope and Cade have suffered great losses in their lives before which made starting life somewhere new appealing to them both. We live with them as they meet and get to know each other mostly through other characters both human and canine! The stories involving those secondary characters do take up a lot of the book but they help the story to resolve and give the needed distractions to our main characters so they can push their fears and assumptions aside when they need to.

I found the detailing of Cade's character especially remarkable. The inclusion of his MH issues and how they affected his thinking at times were remarkably similar to how my own have affected me. It is great to see this conveyed in such a sympathetic manor to help those who have not suffered to maybe understand a bit more.

I really enjoyed this book as I have others by this author, I heartily recommend reading this to anyone and everyone!

Even I saw this book it became a must read as I'm starting to be a fan of Debbie's work, however I finished this book for the sake of finishing it.

Set in Oceanside, Washington DC I wanted to read Hope story from the outline. What I didn't expect was suddenly be thrown into the world of a high school with Callie, Spencer and Scott. If I'm being brutally honest it didn't bring anything to the story. I just wanted to skip over those parts and wanted to tell Hope to stay away.

Disappointed. I didn't care for the characters. I didn't get invested in their stories or want them to have their happy ever after. I was bored but the cover is gorgeous and the writing is great. Just wished I enjoyed it more.

Sorry but thanks to
