So much detail in such simple illustrations. We have enjoyed the Badger books before and this one was no different! Having Badger meet another Badger (and another kind of berry) made for a sweet story.
Blue Badger and the Beautiful Berry by Huw Lewis Jones.
Life is good for Badger, bumbling about and eating berries day and night.
His friends accept him, Dog’s favourite ball has been recovered,
and he is finally master of his own destiny..
A really good read. Great illustrations. 5*.
Like one of the other reviewers of this book, I preferred the illustrations to the story. I loved the illustrations.
I found the story a bit odd and I couldn't really work out who it was written for; it didn't feel like a story for children, not because of anything inappropriate, just because I couldn't see what in the story would appeal to them. It also irritated me a bit that both badgers completely ignored what the other was saying, which, in a story about friendship, seemed a bit counterproductive.
This is my first book in the Blue Badger series, and I liked the illustrations better than the story itself. This felt like a fable for adults with relationship problems: two badgers having a conversation, both of them however speak of different things - one about food, while the other about feelings. A real-life example, no doubt, but maybe confusing to kids?

This is the first I've read in the series.
I found the illustrations cute and endearing.
The narrative had whimsical and honest sense of humour that I think appeal to children and adults.
The owl character really helped to clarify what the story was exploring.
I give this four stars
Wonderful story about friendship, sharing and falling in love. Beautiful illustrations. Great story for kids with much deeper meaning. Loved reading this and would read it over and over again to my kids! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy! Looking forward to this release.
