Truly enjoyed Grace and Ren's story, this entire series and been a fun read from the start and I"m hoping for more. Grace and finally decided to tell Ren how she feels and she is hoping he feels the same way about her. Ren thinks Grace is ready to hear that he likes her and they can move things to the next level. Unfortunately Grace miss understands something she sees and everything comes to a halt. The two of them are asked to go help an a group of humans that are living outside of town, Ren thinks this might be the perfect time to share things with Grace.

Can't wait to read more!

I love the Ancients Rising series, and I was so excited to read this novella, which follows Ren and Grace, characters we met in previous books in the series. Ren and Grace are so great together! They’re both crushing on each other, but they’re hesitant to reveal how they feel. The novella begins as they’re both finally ready to reveal their feelings and take the next step in their relationship.

Ren, a jaguar shifter, is a great MMC. He’s so patient and laid-back, and he has an optimistic and charismatic charm. Ren thinks Grace has sworn off men, and he is happy being her friend until she’s ready for more. Even though he knows she is his mate, Ren doesn’t pressure or push. Unfortunately, Grace takes his patience as a lack of interest, which causes some confusion and insecurity. Even once their relationship starts to change, Ren is very comfortable with going at her pace. He is a good man, and he uses the road trip and time away with Grace to show her how much he loves her. And his relationship with Grace’s grandmother is so sweet!

Grace’s relationships with her sisters, grandmother, and new brother-in-law are also lovely. They have such a strong bond, which we saw earlier in the series, and it’s great to see their growing and loving family do so well. And it’s always wonderful to see how characters from previous books are doing. We get to see quite of few in this one, and I was so happy that my favorites made an appearance!

There are a couple of things I love about this series, and Ancient Sentinel has both – fantastic worldbuilding and THE CUTEST DRAGONS. I just love the sweet and playful baby dragon! And the worldbuilding is so vivid and immersive. Much of the story takes place in and around New Orleans, and the descriptions of this new supernatural-led world are so interesting. I like how the books explore different places and parts of this post-supernatural world as the characters work to rebuild and recreate their society.

I enjoyed this novella. It’s a quick and cute, low-angst addition to the series. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Grace and Ren a story that shows that when love comes, it comes.
You can say no, yet you want it all. When they have to test what those feelings are when danger is near. Delightful story readers will enjoy. Given ARC for my voluntary review by Net Galley and KP Press

He’d Been Waiting Patiently to Claim Her!

What a great story, Ren and Grace were very good friends although Ren knew within ten minutes of saving her that she was his mate but due to what she had gone through, he knew he needed to take things easy, friend her until it was time to claim her.

Grace had the hots for Ren but thought he wasn’t interested in her, what she didn’t realise was that he was as hot for her and he’d been waiting for a sign to say she was ready to date again!

When Grace’s Nanna told him to get a move on or lose her, he knew now was the time to up his game. She wouldn’t know what was coming and he had every intention of claiming her. Both sent on a mission and working together would be the perfect opportunity to take advantage and he definitely did!

You can feel the intense passion and feelings they have for each other, a great read with lots of steamy moments, romance, great secondary characters. I loved the interaction between the shifters and how protective and caring Ren was with Grace. I also have to mention that I love the Dragonling.

Brilliant writing, brilliant story, what more can I say other than bring on the next in the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed and ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This novella is an adorable addition to the author's Ancients Rising series. While it can stand alone, it also doesn't rehash much of Ren's and Grace's backstories or their more recent shared history. To be fair, I actually prefer that as, more often than not, authors do a clunky job of it, especially with long series. That said, I've read four of the previous six novels, and I still had only a slightly-better-than-fuzzy recollection of Ren's and Grace's pasts. (That's at least half on me though.)

It's early, and I haven't had my coffee yet, so I'm rambling, sorry. My point is that if you haven't fairly recently read or you don't remember the previous novels, this book seems very light on content. It's mostly the two of them pining over their BFFs (each other) and then getting together rather easily. The danger is minimal; there's little build up and resolves quickly, and it really doesn't add anything to the story. More specifically, the danger poses neither a threat to our heroes' relationship nor does it help it along.

All that said, Ren is so freaking adorable that you'll want a jaguar of your very own. Also, I'm a sucker for the friends-to-lovers trope, and while this novel didn't give me exactly ALL the feels associated with the trope, it gave me many of them.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

I loved that this started out as Grace and Red ready to kickstart their friendship into something more. Ren going all possessive and flirty was hot! We got a bit of a dance between these two that spiced things up. I love the overall storyline of this series. It's a fun look into what the world could look like if there were real supernatural beings and how they can destroy but also come together. The dragonlings almost stole the show. I love, love the dragonlings. As always, I'm looking forward to more.

Awesome! The year had just started, when an Ancient Rising title popped up at Netgalley. I’ve read a lot of different series from Katie already, but the Ancients Rising is one of my favorites. Mostly, I devour her latest story and then have to wait a few months for another story. But now, almost directly after Ancient Vengeance, I could dive into Ancient Sentinel.

This story is also in King’s territory, in New Orleans (Ancient Vendetta), where both Ren (a jaguar shifter) and Grace are asked to go on an assignment together. Ever since Grace has been rescued from the vampires nest by shifters, she has been friends with Ren. unfortunately, friends is all they are, even when Grace would like to be more. After Grace’s ordeal, she has seem to sworn of men. Therefore Ren tries to keep a distance. But it’s getting harder and harder. Because Ren’s jaguar has decided that Grace is his mate.

But how to convince a human of their connection? Determined to show Grace that he is the one, they embark on a mission to the outer regions of King’s territory. As always with Katie: a wonderful story with sparks flying and a HEA. Loved it! Five out of five stars and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

Ancient Sentinel (Ancients Rising Book 7) by Katie Reus
I love this series and this book is one of my favorites. Jaguar shifter Ren and Grace (human) are so perfect together. They both are afraid to admit how they feel. While on a project for King they become closer and with the help of wonderful friends, family and new friends, the laughter, tears, doubts, discovery, fighting evil and lots of steam they get to a very HEA. There are some wonderful surprises for lovers of this series. I can't wait for the next book ANCIENT WARRIOR.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Easy-to-read Entertaining Funny Happily Ever After Informative Page-turner Romantic Scary Steamy Wonderful characters.

Ancient Sentinel by Katie Reus.
Jaguar shifter Ren never thought he’d fall for anyone again—not after the last woman he opened his heart to tried to cut it out. Literally. But the moment he met Grace he fell hard and fast for the sweet human. Except she’s made it clear she’s only looking for friendship, and he wants it all.
Really good read. I did enjoy this book. I do like this author. 5*.

This is Grace and Ren’s book and it’s a cute little read.

After a misunderstanding they finally get together as they help out a settlement of humans.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

Love this series and every story just gets better than the previous one. This one was sweet and sexy. With a little danger thrown in.

Grace has finally got up the courage to approach Ren But jumps to the wrong conclusion.

“Are you saying I smell bad?”

“Definitely not. You smell like sunshine, Grace O’Connor.”

Ren has been taking it slow but that has put him in the friend zone and that’s the last place he wants to be so he’s making his move.

“You’re going to have to step up your game if you want a chance with my granddaughter.”

It was time to claim his female.

There mission is just what they need.

The dragonling stole the show!!

Then it hunched down and basically army crawled toward them—as if it wasn’t a fire-breathing predator.

The little creature flopped out completely, its legs going out in all directions as it made happy little sounds.
