David Burroughs has been in prison for the last 5 years serving a life sentence for murdering his own son. Since that fatal day he has had no visitors or anyone contacting him. As like other prisoners he claims he is innocent. Even his now ex-wife Cheryl thinks he is guilty of the crime. With the evidence against him after all this time he doubts himself.
When one day, one of the wardens comes in to tell him he has a visitor. At first, he tells them to tell them to go away. But warden is not having any of it. When he meets his visitors, he finds out that it is his ex-wife sister Rachel. Who was an investigative journalist. But an incident that happened a few years ago, made her leave her job.
Rachel used to be David’s best friends many years ago. She shows David a photo. At first it is nothing special. It is a photo of a family. But when she zooms into the photo of the face of the little boy. It has a striking resemblance of his son Matthew 5 years on. At first, he doesn’t believe it, but Rachel says she has sent for facial recognition. This event starts a journey to find out the truth and changes his life forever.
Thank you, Random House Cornerstone, for a copy of ‘I will find you’. When you pick up a book by Harlan Coben you know you are going to be in for a ride and this is no exception. This is a twisty, action-packed thriller all the way through of one fathers plight to learn the truth and clear his name. I loved it 5 stars from me.

David Burroughs is serving a life sentence for murdering his son. When his ex sister-in-law visits him in prison and shows him a photo that suggests he is still alive, the book really takes off. Told from multiple points of view, this is a fast paced thriller that kept me guessing most of the way through the book! A solid 3.5 rounded up to a 4!
With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Imagine serving a life sentence for murdering your own son. A crime that you can't remember doing, your DNA is all over the murder weapon though, with no other suspects. Imagine living with the guilt and confusion, all of your loved ones believing that you created such a heinous crime. Imagine that you discover that your son is still alive...
A proper quick paced page turner, with lots if twists along the way

David Burroughs is 5 years into a life sentence ostensibly for murdering his 3 year old son for which he is not guilty but does not protest the evidence too much as he feels some degree of guilt for the loss of his child. He is readily accepting his sentence whilst not accepting any visitors, until, that is, his former sister-in-law Rachel visits showing him a photograph of a young boy that strongly resembles his son Matthew. She believes this could be him and he becomes equally convinced.

Highly unlikely as it seems David escapes from the prison and goes in search of his son. We the readers are then taken on this trip with him supported by Rachael and others whilst evading capture by the police and in particular Max and Julie who appear like a comedy double act.

I must confess to loving Harlan Coben but that did not influence my review of this book. It really is an excellent read and I highly recommend this book and other books by him.

I would like to thank Netgalley UK and publishers Randomhouse UK, Cornerstone, Century for an advanced arc of this book in exchange for a fair and unbiased review

When I started this book I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it but master story teller that he is Harlan Cohen drew me in,I really wanted to know what happened to Matthew.A fabulous read.

An excellent standalone thriller from one of the best in the business. With a clever plot and a cast of characters with dubious morals, the novel is fast paced and engaging. Themes of family and fidelity, truth and lies run through the narrative, and the layers of a years old series of deceptions are exposed one by one.

I Will Find You has a complex plot. And every time the reader feels like the answer is there, something changes. It's edge of the seat time until the very end.

Having read some of the authors previous books I couldn’t wait to see what this one brought, and I wasn’t disappointed.

This is a story with so many twists and turns I honestly couldn’t keep up at times. Read it in one sitting.

Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy.

Utterly gripping!! I will find you is a fast paced, heart wrenching tale of a father trying to find his son.

Full of jail breaks, mafia bosses and police chases this book will keep you glued to it.

David is serving life for the murder of his son, he has nothing to live for until his ex-sister in law tells him she thinks his son is still alive!

On paper the plot is ludicrous however the book is a triumph! I love the characters and if they ever make a film of this Jim Carey has to play Max!

The ending is a little abrupt but it fits with the tone of the book.

Brilliant escapism (pun intended).

This is another terrific suspense thriller from Harlan Coben who seems to produce one fantastic page turner after another. David has spent five years in prison after being convicted of the murder of his three year old son, Matthew, who was bludgeoned to death; a crime which he has always denied. He has withdrawn from contact with the outside world and has had no visitors until his ex sister-in-law visits and shows him evidence that Matthew may still be alive. The news about Matthew drags David's mind back into action and he vows to escape and save his son from whatever evil perpetrator has abducted him. At this point, I wondered how the plot would make this possible but the twists and turns that followed kept me in suspense right to very satisfying conclusion... With the help of his ex sister-in-law, David evades capture and untangles a complex web of lies and deceit in which all the key players have participated and finds himself taking on on the criminal underworld. This is one of Coben's best to date and I literally couldn't put it down. Fortunately I had a long car journey with someone else driving me so I finished the whole story in one read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fast-paced mystery thrillers.

I Will Find You is the latest stand alone thriller from Harlan Coben.
It starts from David Burrough’s point of view: a man in prison for the murder of his young son five years ago. (As David tells us on page one: ‘spoiler alert, I didn’t do it’.)
There’s a lot in there that tells you this is a Harlan Coben book – a twists and turns plot with a great elevator pitch (how does a wrongly accused man get out of prison and solve the mystery of what really happened to his son, who he quickly becomes convinced isn’t dead), a slightly meta style of writing (frequent fourth wall breaks as he asks questions to the reader: ‘have you ever…’ and even when things are at their most dire, a vein of Coben’s humour there at all times.
There’s other touches regular fans will spot: a background appearance from a regular Coben character pulling a few strings to keep the plot moving along and key characters from being locked up on charges despite evidence against them, an above-the-law wealthy family, and of course, the aforementioned plot twists.
We’re also introduced to two new characters: Special Agents Max Bernstein and Sarah Jablonski, trying to track down and capture the protagonist. I’ve seen other reviewers comment on what a great duo they are and how many would like to see them in their own series – for me, I found them the most grating part of the novel. Most of the time Coben’s humour works for me but their double act just grated.
All in all, it zips along as all of the author’s books do and I imagine Netflix are already licking their lips at an adaptation of it (how well this one would work if set outside the US I’m not so sure), and will thrill regular readers.
Coben does a good job of the surveillance/ tracking/ technology elements of the book generally; although for plot convenience’s sake there were a couple of moments I thought ‘wouldn’t they have noticed (possible spoiler removed).
Is it ‘realistic’? Of course not – but then it’s not intended to be a documentary. What it IS is another page turner from one of the best at writing them. If it all gets a bit far fetched for some readers, I can see why they’d think so. But for the many many fans around the world, I’ve no doubt they’ll thoroughly enjoy this latest thriller.

This is prolific thriller writer Harlan Coben's latest offering, in a style his readers will find familiar, fast paced, with plenty of twists and you will have to suspend your sense of disbelief for this escapist fare to enjoy this, this is fiction so that is fine. David and Cheryl Burroughs were married and living in suburbs, with a 3 year old son, Matthew, with a port stain birthmark on his face, until one harrowing night, tragedy strikes with David awakening covered in blood. He is convicted of the murder of Matthew, with the damning testimony given by a neighbour, Hilde Winslow. Now into his fifth year of a life sentence at Briggs Penitentiary, run by Warden Philip Mackenzie, David knows he is innocent, but deems himself guilty for not protecting his son.

He has withdrawn from everyone he knows, refusing to see anyone, including Cheryl who divorced him and is now remarried. However his life shifts dramatically when his former sister-in-law, disgraced investigative journalist, Rachel Anderson, visits with a photograph taken by a friend of hers, in the background of which is a child with a port stain birthmark. David is convinced that the boy is Matthew, and for the first time in years, he comes alive, he must find his son, and to do that he has to break out of prison, a seeming impossibility that comes true. Leading the biggest manhunt are determined wisecracking FBI agents, Max Bernstein and Sarah Jablonski, closely snapping at David's heels. As David uncovers a slew of secrets, lies and deception, he is helped by a Rachel who has always believed in him.

There are some well known Coben characters making an appearance here, such as the famous lawyer, Hester Crimstein, in this tense and suspenseful thrill ride of a story. This is a fun and entertaining thriller that will likely appeal to many of the author's legions of fans, and other crime and mystery readers. There are villains, such as the wealthy and influential psychopath Ross Sumner, a mob boss with an odd attachment to truth and justice, and David is not without friends and family who are willing to aid him. A terrific read. Many thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

David is in prison for allegedly murdering his son. He has no recollection of the crime, and when his ex-sister-in-law pays him a visit after five years in prison and shows him a photo of a boy who resembles his child, his world is turned upside down. He wants to find him in any way he can; not even the prison walls can stop him.

And this is just the beginning of this cinematic novel.

Harlan Coben is an exceptional storyteller. I finished the book in one evening; it is packed with action, complications, emotions, lies, assumptions, and so on. Everything a human being is capable of.

The characters are exceptional, as they always are, and the novel is a joy to read.

As usual great storytelling from Harlan Corben. This thriller has you hooked from page one. Easy to read and difficult to put down.

I’m devastated! You wait three years for a new Harlan Coben and I finish it in two nights, now what am I supposed to do.
I have been reading Harlan’s books since I discovered Myron Bolitar and I had to Google what Yoo-hoo’s were. He has been one of my favourite authors ever since. I have also enjoyed the series of his books, although they are never as good as his books.
This is another triumph. The premise seems far fetched, a man in jail for the brutal murder of his son suddenly finds evidence that his son is alive. From the moment David is presented with the evidence by his ex sister in law, Rachel, you will be hooked. You meet a wide range of morally ambiguous characters as David tries to discover the truth.
The story has one of my favourite things which is where you have to turn back and reread as you can’t believe what you’ve just read.
I can’t wait for the next book!
Thanks Harlan for another stunning read and, I imagine, TV series of the future.

Thrilling and utterly compulsive! An incredible read, impossible to put down. Incredible storytelling! Recommend you read this book! A propulsive read that never let me go from start to finish!

David is a convicted child killer. Serving a life sentence for the brutal murder of his 3 year old son Matthew, David maintains that he is innocent, though concedes he may have done something whilst in a fugue state. When his ex sister in law makes an unexpected and unwelcome visit to the prison, with some evidence she is keen to share, David’s life takes a surprising turn.

Whilst Coben is a prolific writer this is only the second book of his that I have read. It was an interesting read, with a fair plot. The characters were ok, but the FBI double act was silly and unnecessary. The outcome was pretty much as expected, no great reveal.

I think HC fans will enjoy, but for me a bit mediocre.

2.5* upped to 3*

Thank you NetGalley.

David Burroughs is a man without hope. Five years into a life sentence for killing his three year old son, he has his first visitor since his incarceration.

His visitor brings news that his son is still alive and David has something to live for

A humdinger from Harlen Coben with loads of twists and turns!

Thank you to Netgalley and Century Publishing for the chance to review this book

A really good read. Part thriller, part psychological drama, this book races through a few days of a tense search. Although there are wrongs to be righted, the main character is not focussed on the errors made but on the main event which began the story.
An edge of your seat drama which made me want to pick up where I left off until I finished the book. A modern story using today’s technology but tapping into old fashioned values.
Recommended.

I cannot recommend rhis novel highly enough. I was hooked from the very first page. I found all the characters very believable.

The book was very well written and was fast paced. I was reading at every spare moment and when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it.

I will be looking out for more books by Harlan Coben as it seems he writes novels that are right up my street.

I would like to thank Random House Uk, Cornerstone & NetGalley for the Arc for which I have given my unbiased view
