Definitely not his best, or even his second best. But he is so damn readable that even when the characters are 2D and the plot pushes past comfortably implausible, is still a really enjoyable experience diving into a any Harlan Coven novel

And it’s all here as you would expect in a HC thriller
When thinking of this review I was unsure what to put as don’t want to give much away but then the Blurb on Amazon kinda does so….what I will say is that if you love the author’s ability to make dead/missing people reappear in very unusual ways and then chaos reign when the family etc unexpectedly see the evidence then this is for you
It’s a quick read, it has to be as it doesn’t mess around and once you’ve started you are swept away with it and before you know you’re finished
The authors ability to tell a tale is amazing and even more amazing is the ability to just keep it on the believable side even though it’s verging on the un!
Only reason not a 5 Star is that there are 2 FBI detectives, Max and Sarah who for some reason run their interrogations like a gag reel, mildly amusing for the first minute, highly irritating thereafter and I admit to skimming their ‘hilarity’
That aside it’s great

8/10
4 Stars

I would like to thank Netgalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for an advance copy of I Will Find You, a stand-alone thriller set on the Eastern Seaboard of America.

Five years into a life sentence for killing his three year old son, Matthew, David Burroughs is resigned to his fate, even though he knows he didn’t do it. Then his sister-in-law, Rachel visits him with a recent picture of a child she believes is Matthew. It’s time for David to save him.

I thoroughly enjoyed I Will Find You, a tension filled, action packed thriller that had me engrossed. I should probably point out that realism plays no part in the novel, so it’s probably best to put critical thinking aside and just go with the adrenaline rush.

The novel is told from David’s first person perspective and that is contrasted with the investigation of his jail break by two unconventional FBI agents, Max Bernstein and Sarah Jablonski. They are funny, but not stupid, and offer a little light relief in comparison to David, who is on the run and desperate for answers. His narrative is taut and fraught, but always clear sighted - he has a goal and is going to complete it, no matter the obstacles, and they are plenty.

I don’t know how often my heart stopped as David evaded capture time after time. In this respect the ending is a bit of a damp squib, but only in comparison to what has gone before. There is still danger and a neat twist that provides a lot of satisfaction.

I Will Find You is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

I Will Find You is yet another page turning thrilling book from this author.
David Burroughs has so far served 5 years of his sentence for murdering his 3 year old son. He didn’t think he’d ever be capable of doing such a heinous crime but he had been drinking that night and had a history of sleep walking. When an eye witness at his trial gave evidence that she had seen him bury the murder weapon and said weapon had his prints and DNA he was found guilty.
Accepting that he must of killed his son even though he didn’t believe he could of unless in a fugue state as they claimed at trial, he was now merely existing, accepting his punishment and refusing any contact with his previous friends and relatives.
When his sister in law turns up to visit him to show him a photo that could prove his innocence he decides to fight back. So we go on a rollercoaster of a journey with David and I was cheering him along the way. With twists and turns, jaw dropping moments and a cast of such well brilliantly developed characters this is great read, with an excellent finale.
This author writes tremendously good stories, in my opinion this is his best yet, though I tend to say that after all his books!
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

For me, Harlan Coben is one of the first authors I go to when I’m looking for a good read, and I’ve never been disappointed. This time David Burroughs has been in prison for 5 years, having been convicted of the heinous murder of his 3 year old son - and quite rightly so - if he’s guilty. When his ex-sister in law comes to see him, his world is turned upside down again. She’s shows him a photograph that he can’t comprehend. It appears to show his son - still alive.

Davids’ character is so well written. You can understand why he hates himself, after all how could anyone do something like that to their own child. He knew he deserved to be in prison, he’d refused to see any friends or relatives, he wanted to just do his time and take his punishment. However, that all changes when he’s give hope. It’s a compelling story, another one by this author where I had to keep reading late into the night to find out how this could work out. The story is very dark, with money buying anything that rich people want and desire, whether it’s buying their own brand of justice, freedom or revenge. Money can buy anything. There were some really good twists, some I didn’t guess, and well rounded characters. Humans are fallible and we all have people we would protect with our lives if they’re threatened. Excellent read and highly recommended.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

It is no secret that Harlan Coben is one of my absolute favourite writers. I have been reading his books ever since I was a teenager, and I still can't get enough of them. I was over the moon to receive an early copy of I Will Find you, and it was devoured in less than 24 hours. His writing is so slick and draws you into the story from the get-go. His characters get into your heart., good or bad. I am always telling people to read his books and that is not going to change.

I Will Find You is a stand-alone story, although there is an appearance by an old favourite and a nod to another. In no way though so you need to read any other books to understand this one. This is the story of David, a man who has bene in prison for the last 5 years for the murder of his 3-year-old son, Matthew. He has always said that he was innocent, but guilty of not protecting him. Now, a photo has come to his attention, and it shows a boy that looks exactly like his son. And there the wild ride begins.

Is this book a little out there in terms of what David gets away with - yes. Did I care - no! I couldn't get enough of the crazy and intense story. It was really cleverly down, and really hard to put down.

In summary - I loved it. Easy five stars.

A massive thank you to Random House UK, Cornerstone for my advanced copy to read. Publishes March 16th.

“I Will Find You” by Harlan Coben is a book of mystery and secrets.

David and Cheryl Burroughs are married and live in a perfect house with their three year old son, Matthew. But one day, a tragedy hits them. David wakes up covered in his son’s blood. But he knows that he is innocent. Five years later, and David is still in prison, but Cheryl's sister shows up with a picture from a vacation. And in the background is a boy that looks exactly like Matthew.

There is lots of action in this book. Lots of suspense and lots of excitement. It is a very unique plot and I love the storyline.

You can not help but feel empathy with the characters in the novel. Even those who might seem evil minded. They seem like true human beings with real emotions.

I have read books by Harlan Coben in the past, but this one caught me off guard. It is very good! Especially the plot, but also the writing style and the development of the characters.

As the description says, it’s a blockbuster story. A few years ago, I’ve seen some of his books on here, people raving about them and how good they are and how he’s a must read author.

After I read my first book, I never looked back and read more from his back catalogue or watched all the Netflix show. I must admit that I loved The innocent because I miss living in Spain , it was a total different experience and Mario did a great job in playing Mat.

Now back to I will find you. This is another must read story that hopefully will be made into a series because it has everything you can dream for a perfect on screen plot.
The father that will do everything and anything to save his son.

I couldn’t grasp why Rachel wanted so bad to make him believe his son is alive . And then all the run and hide ride. The dialogue flows easily, their thoughts intertwining with suspenseful scenes that kept me on the edge.

I didn’t liked Cheryl at all. I know I should probably understand her for trying to build a new life after 5 years since she lost both her son and husband in that terrible night, but she just gave me strange vibes all along.

The fertility clinic and all the DNA tests were unpredictable and the actual truth , that epic ending left me gasping and speechless.

A must read book that will take you on a roller coaster with adrenaline rushing through your veins at the fast pace that this story goes.

In other words, prepare yourself for a wild ride with the author’s mark all over the story.

Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley

Unbelievably fantastic- from page one to the end in one sitting! I just couldn’t put it down. And the ending????? If you only read one book this year make it this one.

I loved the premise of this book, an innocent man in prison for the murder of his son who has suddenly been given the glimmer of hope that his son is still alive. Is the story a bit improbable? Yes. Did I care? Not in the slightest. Harlan Coben has such a refreshing way of telling stories, I loved the way that he combined the first person narrative while also bringing in third person perspectives for a more well rounded approach to the story. This book has got all of his normal characteristics, humour, witty banter and engaging characters and story. My only complaint would be that the book felt slightly shorter and a bit more rushed than his other books that could just be because when I’m reading I don’t want it to end.

Delighted to be able to read another Harlan Coben book. "I Will Find You" is a stand alone book, although Hester Crimstein gets a name-check from Coben's world. The plot was addictive - did David kill his son? Why did everyone believe David's innocence? How was the rest of the plot going to unfold. I have to say that I found the cop duo annoying, some of plot slightly unbelievable and the ending not necessarily believable either. However, still better than a lot of crime books out there.

Stunning and flawless an absolutely brilliantly conceived plot (pun intended) which left me right on the edge of my seat for the entire breathtaking journey.
The characters are incredibly believable and I was thoroughly invested in them and engaged in their rollercoaster rides of despair and injustices.
There are many twists and turns within the plot which are ingeniously written in and my loyalties to the main characters were shaken several times over.
I completed the entire book in pretty much one sitting as I couldn’t bear not to find out how it would end. The added pulls of being accused of murdering your own child and the family loyalties being split and tested beyond their limits were excruciating and compelling simultaneously.
Can’t really recommend this one enough.

This is my 200th Netgalley review and what a great book to reach that milestone with.

With Harlan Coben you know what you are getting - great writing, a fantastic premise and a satisfying ending. He's like going to your favourite restaurant, ordering your favourite meal knowing that it will always be fantastic.

In I Will Find You, we start with David Burroughs rice years into a life sentence for the inexplicable murder of his own son. David cannot remember much about the night in question but has succumbed to depression and acceptance of his fate however a visit from his sister in law with a recent picture of his son five years on makes David question everything about that night....but what can he do from behind bars.....

I shall leave the synopsis there and let you read on but this is a fantastic thriller with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing before hitting you with a very satisfying ending.

Another great effort from Coben and thanks to Netgalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone, Century for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an excellent read. That I finished in two sittings. The mystery was engaging and it was full of great plot twists. I Would recommend it to fans of Harlan Coben. I as a long-time fan was not disappointed.

Coben is as ever immensely readable.
The pages just fly by.
Some good twists and turns.
For me though, this is not going to be a favourite.
It felt too far fetched. Nothing felt believable.
To be honest, that's not always a problem, I'd usually accept it and enjoy the ride, and to some extent I did.
However some of the characters, I just couldn't like.

I'll read pretty much any book Mr Coben puts out, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Win in the next one.

As a massive fan of Harlan Coben, I was so excited to get stuck right in and boy, did this one just get so far under my skin from the oust. It's a standalone although I did love the nod to a much loved character from the Myron series so it was nice to see the standalone was set in that same world if you will. I always worry woth authors who have written a lot of books that sometimes you find a pattern the books always follow, the same kind of protagonist, the same kind of situations, its all bit rinse and repeat and predictable but Harlan Coben books have none of this. The premise was original and I had no idea where it was going the whole way through. The characters are well written and are given such depth and realism, even in such a short space of writing. Reading one of these books is very much like watching a series on Netflix, the multilayers, how cleverly written it all is, the twists and turns you don't see coming, the little hints sprinkled in. It sheer perfection. I found myself reading this at work, as I did the hoovering, as I cooked dinner, as I ate dinner, as I worked out and finally it was finished in the bath. I always think the sign of a good thriller is one that doesn't just built tension or suspense but it also taps into your humanity and emotions and makes you care and yeah, I cried in the bath.... more than once. The subject matter the struggles, granted some of the events may have been a bit far fetched but noone would read it if it was just old John down the post office telling the guy his son was alive and lived in the next town. The beauty, the pleasure, is in the journey and you definitely live that journey either these characters. A must read
