I usually prefer Harlan Cobens stand alone novels to the series he writes , but not so much this one. It’s too commercial if that makes sense, because well yeah i guess he wants it to sell.
David Burroughs has spent 5 years in prison for the murder of his 3 year old son Matthew. He isn’t sure if he killed him or not as he sleepwalks and has been known to do things he’s unaware of. A bloodied baseball bat was discovered buried in his back yard and a neighbour testifies that she saw him burying it. It’s the final nail that sends him to jail. His family now doubt his innocence, his wife has divorced him, has remarried and is expecting a baby with her new husband.
For the 5 years he has been inside he has refused to allow any visitors, however on this particular day he is told he has a visitor and he is to see her. It turns out to be his sister in law Rachel. She wants to show him something, it’s a photo of some friends of hers at an amusement park and in the background is Matthew.
Now David’s sole purpose is to escape prison and look for his son.
What happens next is fast paced thriller as we follow David on his quest with two FBI agents on his tail and seemingly knowing his every move.

Just a small disclaimer, Harlan Coben is auto buy/read author for me, so I probably am biased....because he can do no wrong in my eyes! In I Will Find You, he does not disappoint. David is in jail for the murder of his 3yr old son. 5yrs into his sentence, Rachel (his ex sister in law) rocks his world by visiting him in jail and showing him a picture a boy, around 8yrs old, who looks very much like David's dead son, Matthew. David needs to get out of jail so he can find this child and find out if there is any chance the boy in the picture is really Matthew.

What a page turner! Harlan knows how to write a story and this just hit all the right spots. Fast paced, intriguing, tense and with some interesting characters. You do have to suspend belief for some of it....or maybe a lot of it, but this was just so entertaining that it could have been set on the moon and I would not have minded.

I Will Find You is just everything that I want in a thriller, though I did guess some of the plot twists, again I don't care.

Also, I always love the inclusion of characters from his other books and also the narration style, as if the protagonist is aware we are there, reading.

Harlan Coben knocks it out of the park once again with this amazing thriller, telling the story of a falsely imprisoned father accused of murdering his son. Upon learning his child might still be alive, he sets out on discovering the truth.

Ok let’s get one thing clear about this book. It’s a little bit silly. That’s not a negative just an observation from the outset.

It’s the story of a father serving life in prison for the murder of his three year old son but, when 5 years later a photo surfaces of what appears to be his son alive and well he decides he has to escape and find his son!

That’s the gist of it. Sounds intriguing right? And a little bit silly? Well it is both and to be honest I loved it. A great bit of escapism with a bit of a mad story, shut out the outside world and reality and strap yourself in for the ride here, you will have a blast.

Engaging, fun and well plotted, this book reads a lot shorter than it is. Always a good sign.

This one is definite hit for me. I’m on a roll of great reads at the moment. Long may it continue.

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC through Netgalley.

In my opinion, this is the best novel the author ever wrote, and he has written some excellent novels, but none as good as this. David is in prison for the murder of his son, Matthew. But he is innocent. However, he thinks he is to blame for not protecting his child. So he accepts his prison sentence without raising any defence. Then a visit from his sister in law, Rachel, changes everything. I was glued to this book until I finished the novel, I can't reveal any more of the plot without spoiling it, but I highly recommend this to all readers of thrillers.
