David is in prison for killing his son; but he claims he is innocent. However, he isn't claiming it out loud, he figures he is responsible for his son's death because he didn't protect him. However, after 5 years incarceration his sister in law Rachel visits, and brings a photograph that changes everything.
From here we see David determined to escape from prison in order to prove his innocence and find his son, who, if the photograph is to be believed, is still alive.
Its a real roller coaster, and David is a very sympathetic character. I thoroughly enjoyed it all - except maybe the rather silly interchanges between Max and Sarah, FBI agents, a technique they employ to throw suspects off their guard, but which I just found irritating.
A great read. Thank you to NetGalley, Random House UK and Cornerstone for allowing me access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"I am serving the fifth year of a life sentence for murdering my own child. Spoiler alert: I didn't do it... If you think this will be a tale about a wronged man proving his innocence, it is not. Because that would not be much of a story."
David Burroughs doesn't care that he's been wrongly imprisoned for killing his son. Because, the result is the same: his son is dead and he blames himself, even though he wasn't responsible for bludgeoning three-year-old Matthew to death.
He's refused visitors for five years, and most people, even those who didn't believe him guilty, have given up on him. But then, his sister-in-law, Rachel shows up at the prison. She wants him to see a photo a friend showed her. In the photo: an eight-year-old boy who has the same large birthmark on his face as Matthew did. Something inside David changes and for the first time in years, he feels something. He knows: he needs to get out, find his son, and discover who framed him.
I've read a few Harlan Coben novels and I found this to be the most enjoyable yet. I love well-thought-out conspiracies and this book was just that. I was invested in the main character and on his side all the way. Although I guessed a few of the twists, it didn't spoil this fast-paced, action-packed thriller in any way. The story packs a punch and was a fun distraction from the more 'serious' books.
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow-Harlan Coben is such a fantastic author. This one has to be his best, fast-paced, action-packed, and thrilling. An amazing read.
Another great book by Harlan Coben. A man is jailed for killing his own son; something he believed he hadn't done. Lots of twist and turns in this book to keep you guessing until the very end.
A man's life is destroyed when he is convicted of killing his own son - but did he? Exciting, page turner of a book, that takes us on a ride to find out what actually happened and why, with twists and turns along the way. All is eventually explained with a satisfying end to the story.

Oh it was go good to be back with Mr Coben! He certainly knows how to get you dangerously addicted to a plot. This one grabs you from the first page and doesn’t let go.
David was a great narrator; a little rough around the edges and slightly untrustworthy; he takes you on the search for his son with excitement, suspense and mystery. The side cast were also rather excellent and I really enjoyed going on this journey with them as all the details came together in a thrilling game of cat and mouse. Suspicion was rife while the narrative was perfectly plotted and executed with the ease of the well practiced hand of this author.
So yes there were predictable parts, coincidences and things that in normal life just wouldn’t have happened but WHO CARES right?! Fiction is entertainment and this was entertainment plus plus!!! Loved it! The 400 pages flew by!
With thanks to the author, #centurybooks and @netgalley for allowing us to read this one early!

With likeable characters and an over the top plot, this does exactly what you want a Harlan Coben thriller to do.
Fast paced and enjoyable, read if you love a twisty turny thriller and a bit of escapism.
I Will Find You is an addictive, fast paced and action packed thriller. I could not put this book down, the story had me hooked from page one and I enjoyed every second of it.
David is serving a life sentence in a federal prison for the murder of his three year old son Matthew. He’s lost everything including his wife Cheryl who is now remarried and expecting another baby. Five years later, after a visit from his sister in law Rachel he’s reeling from a shock revelation - his son Daniel is alive, and the only way he can prove it and discover the truth is by somehow breaking out of prison. With the help of Rachel, can David find Matthew and prove his innocence and find out who and why set him up for murder?
This book was by far my favourite Harlan Coben book! It was absolutely brilliant! I was instantly gripped from the first page, and read it in the space of a few days, I couldn’t stop reading! The plot and storyline was fantastic, and there were plenty of twists and near misses along the way! A compelling read! It would make a brilliant tv show! I loved it!
I did find this tale to have a very slow start. However, once the brakes come off, it becomes a high-speed, roller-coaster of a story with some very intriguing twists and turns to keep one thoroughly engrossed and wondering at what motivates some humans!
Yes, this is fiction but it would not surprise me too much if similar exist in fact as examples of strong family ties and a strong belief in the power of money appear in the media every day.
The only thing that jarred for me was the FBI and you are going to have to read the book to discover why. FBI aside, I Will Find You is well worth your time.
A great read. This one needs to be the next TV series. Full of action and twists. Fast paced with a great storyline. I read over a weekend and loved.
I’m not going to lie, your enjoyment of this book is quite reliant on a suspension of disbelief as the whole premise is unlikely on many levels. But if you can manage that, then you are in for a fun ride with proper goodies, baddies and lots of action and adventure.
David is in prison and he knows that he belongs there - after all, he murdered his son. Or at least that’s what they tell him. Five years into his sentence he receives a visit from his sister-in-law, Rachel and suddenly everything changes. Is it possible that David is innocent? How can he even find out from inside a prison cell?
This is a high octane thriller that will appeal to Harlem Coben’s many fans. It’s the first of his books that I’ve read and it was a fun, easy read.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher Random House UK, Cornerstone for an arc of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Really enjoyed this, the story pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t stop! Really intense all the way through, fairly unbelievable in parts but it didn’t ruin a great story!! I would definitely recommend this, enjoy!!
Harlan Coben's latest is a little unusual from his other books. The book starts with David narrating his story, he has been incarcerated for killing his 3-year-old. And from there starts cat and mouse chase. Harlan Coben's book has a lot more mystery elements and then ends with a bombshell revelation. This book is more along the line of a thriller than a mystery.
Nevertheless, the book will keep you hooked from the get-go. Every turn of the page will renew your sense of thrill and chase. The book is interspersed with David's life before incarceration which gives the reader insight into his persona before everything happened.
The book has a small pool of characters and easy to navigate through them and each of them is well developed.
I absolutely recommend this for its thrill-and-chase sequence. My rating is 3.5 stars.
Tense thriller. David manages to break out of jail to try to find his son .His sister in law shows him a photo of someone who looks identical to his son. He has no memory of killing him and although convicted of the crime he now is trying to prove his innocence but more importantly find out where his sin is. Lots of twists and turns, great read
David and Cheryl Burroughs were going about living their lives until one night tragedy strikes and their son is found murdered in his own bed. Then evidence is found that proves David killed his own child, he’s convicted and sent to prison. Now, five years after that terrible night, Cheryl is remarried. And David in his maximum security prison is functioning , not living, just surviving. All his family and friends have created an ideal scenario that David had some kind of mental breakdown that night, how else can they reconcile the murder with the David they know and love.
David doesn’t have visitors he just wants to be left alone, the guilt of not hearing or realising his son was being murdered ensures that he believes he deserves to be where he is. Then his ex-sister in law visits out the blue, she has is going through her own personal difficulties and life altering changes. But Rachel hasn’t just come to say hi, she has come with a purpose, she has. Photograph and this picture will change everything.
This wonderful slick psychological thriller is beautifully written, just as we’ve come to expect from this author. However there is something quite different about this book from Harlan’s others. In a word ‘WOW’ an incredible read that hooks you from the first page, told through different characters, with David’s voice at the heart. A book not to be missed
Another fast paced book with plenty of twists from the master storyteller Harlan Corben. You know you are in for a good read with one of his books although I must admit this was not one of my favourites.
The reader is kept on the edge of their seat wondering what will happen next.
“I am serving the fifth year of a life sentence for murdering my own child. Spoiler alert: I didn’t do it.”
My thanks to Random House U.K. Cornerstone Century for an eARC via NetGalley of ‘I Will Find You’ by Harlan Coben.
The above opening lines hooked me immediately. Given the nature of the plot I would suggest reading ‘cold’ for maximum impact. While there were some over-the-top aspects it proved the kind of thriller that was impossible to put down.
The story is told from various viewpoints including the imprisoned David Burroughs, his journalist sister-in-law, Rachel Anderson, and various law enforcement personnel.
Harlan Coben is a master of this kind of fast-paced, escapist crime thriller and I am certain that ‘I Will Find You’ will please his existing fans and also appeal to new readers.
I’m late to the party with Harlan Coben and I’m now trying to make up for it. I love his style of writing and how it all comes together at the end. This latest book is no different. Great read
Another fantastic book by Harlan Coben who is one of my favourite authors by far. It was a fantastic book with a unique storyline full of twists and turns.
