Lovely book for young readers which would make an excellent addition to any classroom or home bookshelf.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this book in exchange for my review.

I adore this series, as does my small human, and this book definitely did not disappoint!

A lovely book explaining different types of weather and more importantly, showing how weather does not have to be scary, and instead exciting. Loved how the book ended with a question which sparked discussions about weather today as well as what we had seen in the past.

Caryl Hart personifies the weather and creates characters from the weather elements. There is useful vocabulary which will help children learn as well as enjoy.

Bethan Woollvin's attention grabbing illustrations were bright and colourful, eye-catching throughout to keep the reader wanting more.

My small human also enjoyed spotting the little girl and her dog on every page!

Great book for Nursery and EYFS aged children (0-5)

💨 WHOOOOSH! We're off on an exciting adventure in our hot-air balloon to say hello to all the different kinds of weather that make up our world.

🌈 Join in with the rhymes and get ready to meet everything from whooshing wind to bright rainbows and shimmering sunshine. Little ones will be swept away on an unforgettable journey in this striking, action-packed picture book.

☔️ Meet the Weather is the third instalment in the brilliant ‘Meet the…’ Series by Caryl Hart and illustrated by Bethan Woollvin - two of our favourites and an absolutely wonderful team! We adore Meet the Planets and Meet the Oceans so we were beyond excited to hear there would be a third in the series! Meet the Weather does not disappoint. It’s just as brilliant as the other two and I can’t wait to share it with the children at school. It’s perfect to enhance the Year 1 curriculum. It’s bold, and bright and is packed with gorgeous illustrations of everything from rainy rainforests to snowy mountains and stormy seas. Combining STEM learning with a rhyming twist, it's perfect for all little meteorologists! As with the other books in this series, littles can learn so much from this book about the weather and will love listening to it. It’s so fun to read aloud.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Meet the Weather is a bright, illustrated book for children all about the weather. A little girl and her dog hop into their hot air balloon and go off to see all the types of weather. They introduce the reader to thunder and lightening, clouds, rain, rainbows, sunshine, wind, snow and tornados in a fun rhyming verse. The illustrations were amazing and I especially lived the thunder and lightening pages! The back of the book asks the child what the weather is like where they are today and shows a small illustration of each of the weather shown. This would be a great class story and discussion book.

Another brilliant asset for any classroom or bookshelf at home is the third in the series of 'Meet The...' by Caryl Hart and Bethan Woollvin. Following on from Meet The Planets and Meet The Oceans, Meet The Weather is a narrative non-fiction text written in rhyme designed to introduce picture book readers to the world around us.

Take a hot air balloon ride through the skies to learn about the sun, rain, snow, fog and lots of other weather types we experience on Earth. There's lots to explore!

This is possibly our favourite of the series yet. The bright, bold illustrations by Bethan Woollvin leap off the page like a rainbow leaping across the sky and the rhyming text is informative yet fun. The language is great and includes some lovely 'weather words' and sensory descriptions. There's lots to notice on every page and it's a great way to begin discussions on how different weathers are formed. Why not read the story and create a weather chart with your little one? Or take a walk in different weathers? Make a windsock? Make up a weather forecast? The activities that could be linked to this book are endless.

Wow, what an utterly gorgeous book. Wonderful, informative writing and gorgeous illustrations. A really lovely non fiction volume.

I think this would be perfect for any EYFS or KS1 topic on the weather - or even on the world. I love how the book is interactive and draws the reader in. It's perfect for reading out loud in a class or library setting.

I really hope to add this to my school library soon!
