I'm really sorry but the format wasn't compatible so I was unable to read it properly.. I have given 4 stars due to the issue.
A great wee book full of ‘Would you Rather’ questions (as the title would suggest. Great to dip in and out of in school. Thanks the the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC.
This little book is full of facts about a huge range of things. Each page has four ‘would you rather’ questions on, complete with facts which relate to that particular question. There are high quality photographs to accompany each fact too. The information is in short, easy to read chunks and would be great to keep children entertained during long journeys.
Not to be mistaken for one of these pointless hypothetical either/ors – would you rather bathe in snot for charity or have a million pounds a year for life, that kind of thing – this is actually a great way to leach some geology and geography into us by using opposites and selections of one from two things. So here's the world's hottest and coldest places, and the question is which we'd prefer to visit. This might be our first image and factoid about the Great Wall of China and/or Hadrian's Wall, and we're supposed to guess which we'd like to walk along. It allows itself to get close to the more typical format of these books in discussing edible guinea pigs and kangaroos in our diet, but generally contains nothing to upset even the sniffiest of teachers. It never resorts to the original meaning of trivia, but delivers a whopping load of tiny factoids about the world's musical instruments, bridges, flags, sports and more. And talking of Pointless, surely nobody will grow to be a question setter on that show without a grounding from the likes of this first?! A strong four stars.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
World Would You Rather from National Geographic Kids is a fun educational this or that book for both kids and families to do together or alone. I loved how much fun this book was, and it teaches as well as adds fun to learning. Full of bright, high standard colour photos this book is perfect for any home bookshelf or classroom. So much to see and discover which I love in all National Geographical books.
Would Your Rather? World is a great edition to the Would You Rather series, featuring all the fun and silly scenarios that families have come to expect. The book is great to dip and out to, so it's perfect for car journeys or passing the time in restaurants for example. With silly questions like would you rather eat the world's stinkiest fruit or the hottest chilli, it's bound to keep all the family entertained. There are also some great learning points in there too, with easy to read facts with each question. Even adults will learn something!
It has some funny would you rather. It has interesting facts. Though some are a bit too serious or adult for a kid in my opinion, or they don't care about it when playing. Also some are rather midleading talking about fish instead of the food said in the would you rather. Beautiful pictures fun info, just lacking here and there
This wasn’t the silly, frivolous book I wasn’t expecting from the title, but in a good way!!
It’s actually a really fascinating and fun read with lots of interesting facts from around the world, which lead to questions such as ‘would you rather visit the top of the world or bottom of the ocean’ ‘would you rather eat haggis or snails’
Would make a great gift for 7-10 year olds with a curiosity about the world, it certainly led to some interesting conversations with my son!
My daughter (9) and I spent a fun afternoon reading and debating every Would You Rather in this fact filled book! Each question comes with bite-sized facts from around the world and many had us in stitches! We especially loved learning about dog surfing! Thank you Netgalley, Collins and National Geographic
