This story looks like a picture book, but is actually a chapter book, where the chapters are just a page or two. In all honestly, I DNFed this book after the 3rd chapter. It was just too wordy and couldn’t keep my attention, especially when I thought the galley was going to be something different.
Thanks to Netgalley for the copy to read in exchange for my opinion. This is a cute little story within a story. I found Alexander's story a bit strange but cute.
Thank you NetGalley and the independent publisher for accepting my request to read and review Mum's Story.

This is a tricky one. I enjoyed the message the story conveyed. There is a story, Mum's, within the story book. I thought that part was rather long. However, I loved that the author had siblings who spat, but didn't fight. I loved that they could pick at each other and laugh together.
Overall, I found this giftable. This would be the if in doubt do I buy boy, girl, or Mum's Story (both).
There were few illustrations and nothing over the top, but sensible.
