My eight-year-old daughter and I have read many Rebel Girls books and like the others, this one was great! The stories are always inspiring and we love the fun, colorful illustrations. This book was a fabulous mix of female musicians from both today and in the past. My daughter was excited to see faces she knew (like Olivia Rodrigo) and I enjoyed learning about some women who I hadn't heard much about in the past.

Rebel Girls Rock is a fantastic read for any young person interested in music. Readers can learn about famous rockers, musicians and singers who broke barriers and showed the world what women can do.

The Rebel Girls books are always winners, with bright graphics and just enough information on each page to peak the interest of readers. Learning a little about each person is fun, and might encourage kids to research and learn more about one of the many women featured in this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy of this book.

i love this series of books and what they are doing.
i think it’s wonderful that an entire series of different books focusing on different achievements targeted towards kids!

especially with topics like this -artistic ones- which sometimes get pushed aside as something not as important or something to focus on as much as for example school topics.

k always love seeing books that show kids with all kinds of different talents that what ever they are good at there have been people similar to them and they managed to do well for them.

a great addition to the overall series of books and a fantastic book on its own as well.

Rebel Girls are always a great read and this addition is no exception. Covering a good selection of female artists, this should appeal to students KS2 and above.

I have not been disappointed by anything out of Rebel Girls, and I don’t start now. Rebel Girls Rock is a fascinating look into 25 women who have had formative presences in the music world.

I adored this. I got to learn more about artists that I know, like Big Mama Thornton & Ella Fitzgerald. & this introduced me to many more that I hadn’t heard of! Like Laura Jane Grace & Olivia Rodrigo! This has the double benefit of expanding my music horizons, & allowing me to share some remarkable stories with the nibling during Women’s History Month. The diversity of the women highlighted in these books is always so refreshing to see.

And the art always blows me away. The passion and joy evidenced in all the brightly colored illustrations is always such a pleasure. There were a couple in here that I wouldn’t mind owning prints of, and I look forward to finding out more about both the illustrators and the musicians.

Thanks to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for this ARC!

Singers' journeys have never been easier as I see. Everyone struggles to achieve their goals. Sometimes it slips away, sometimes it is the right time.

All the singer's stories have been different from one another. They come from different backgrounds, struggle, hustle, and made peace at last.

Rebel girls never disappoint in bringing new ideas to be connected with readers in all ways. I simply enjoyed reading each story which lead to more informed and courage to dream.

Thank you @netgalley @rebelgirls for pre-approved arc

I read a lot of the rebel girl books. I do find quite interesting. I enjoyed this book as well and it covers a lot of popstars from rockstars. I thought it was quite interesting to learn some backstory on some other singers that are well known

Another great addition to the Rebel Girls series! I've always enjoyed learning about the history of music and this was a great way to bring together female artists in one place for a younger generation to learn about them. The illustrations are so pretty and bright and colourful. Highly recommend for both girls and boys.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I love reading about women and their achievements, because the sky’s the limit! And it’s great that children growing up today has so many great role models; someone they can look up to who are living proof that you can be anything you set your mind to.

I really enjoy the Rebel Girls series! I have 3 girls and it's important to me that they know they can do and be anything they want. I love having these books with women they can look up to and be inspired by. This one is all about music. I was surprised Beyonce and Taylor Swift didn't make the cut but the list is really diverse in music genre and the women's race. I enjoyed the intro by Joan Jett! She's an icon!! It was really fun to read about some of the older artists I didn't really know. Each story is short - only one page so it's entertaining without dragging it out too much. My girls enjoyed reading about all the different artists! Another fantastic addition to the Rebel Girls series! I'll definitely be picking up a physical copy of this one when it comes out!!

Thank you Netgalley and Rebel Girls for my reveiw e-copy!

Rebel Girls Rock is a celebration of the achievements of 25 female musicians from all around the world. It includes rappers, singers, music executives and musicians who play a variety of instruments. We enjoyed reading stories about Dolly Parton, Bjork, Ella Fitzgerald and Blackpink as well as being introduced to many bands and musicians that we had never heard of before.

Each woman’s story, including their name and date of birth, is accompanied by a vibrant illustration. The stories are short, easy to read and start with each protagonist as a little girl. A final double spread encourages the reader to write their own story and draw their portrait.

This is a great book to inspire any young musician or future music executive!

A fabulous little book about various female singers and their powerful punch and impact to music. I read this to my son and now we’re listening to each of the artists together. He loves the different music styles and it’s wonderful to introduce him to music artists from different cultures around the world.

My daughter really enjoys this series of books - this was an exciting one for her as she's really curious about different types of music at the moment. She loved every second of this, and was able to read a lot independently.

Another good addition to the Rebel Girls series, this time about women in music, from early jazz music to K-pop and rappers, also including women with disabilities and from the lgbtq+ community. As the title suggests, they are all from entertainment music (many I hadn´t known before), but the additional female musicians in the end (only a few words for each) also come from classical music, so this was a little incoherent. If the authors wanted to include those too, there would have been many more to add. The illustrations are great though not all to my taste, and there are ideas how to create music as an addition.

Rebel Girls Rock is a fantastic addition to the Rebel Girls series and showcases the stories of some inspirational women in the music industry. Each female has a two page spread about them and sets the stage for children, teens, and even adults to learn about these inspirational women and then follow on delving into the lives and careers of them.

One thing that is always consistant within the Rebel Girls books is that the illustrations are always amazing.
Every single woman included clearly had been chosen for specific influential and amazing reasons and every life story was magical in their own ways. I love the fact that there were some well-known people who you found new elements about or even people who may not be everyday-famous. This book showed the importance of inclusion in every way and it was good to see people that I look up to as a queer woman, who often are not praised enough for their influences on modern music.

One difference I would like to see is nearly every story begins with "Once upon a time", this may be confusing for younger readers, despite it clearly being a non-fiction book they may misconstrue the meaning and believe it is a fiction fairy story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from #netgalley , thank you. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
