If you are looking for a book with tons of red herrings and twists and turns, second guessing the ending and being shocked at the final reveal this is the one for you. The character depth really draws you into the story of these siblings and what really happened at the summer house so long ago.
Another really good novel from Keri Beevis!
For the first chapter or so I struggled to get into the story which is rare for this author, however all of a sudden I was sucked in and it turned out to be one of her best yet.
Well written with added tension and a small twist near the end made this a thrilling ride with a satisfying finale.
Lana, Ollie & Xav are some of my favourite characters yet and the eerie Hamilton abode and summer house made the perfect backdrop for a suspenseful ride..
Great standalone novel.
A dark, psychological thriller, and the latest book from Keri Beevis. It is due for publication in March. When Ollie and Lana return to their childhood home a deadly series of events are triggered. Secrets are waiting to be uncovered which have been buried for nearly twenty years.
The characters are solid and well introduced. Lana and Ollie carry emotional baggage, which affects their relationships with each other and those around them. The setting is perfect, an old secluded Manor House in the countryside. I love the way the scenery of Norfolk is described. I honestly felt like I was there.
This is a great whodunnit, told from different perspectives across the chapters. Tense and suspenseful, I couldn’t put it down. If you enjoy Lucy Foley or Sarah Pearse, this is the book for you.
From the first chapter I was hooked.
The story sets the scene the night of the murder in ‘The Summer House’. The story continues introducing many characters who are likeable and have their own mysteries.
Twins, Lana and Ollie, go back to their childhood home following the sudden death of their Grandmother, where they begin clearing out the house in preparations to sell.
Upon returning to their old town, meeting familiar faces and being met by disgruntled neighbours, all is not what it seems.
Neighbours dislike for the family shines through the chapters and reveals some great mystery writing.
Lana finds a secret journal written by her murdered sister Camille. Only the pages of the journal unfold truths behind the mysterious night.
I thought, they had introduced G a little too early, which I thought made the ending obvious - but goodness I was wrong! The twists and turns throughout suspected characters really kept me going! To the point where every character to me was at some point ‘definitely guilty’.
A book that really keeps you turning pages at speed right until the very end.
Wow! This book kept me guessing. Every time I thought I knew what was happening there was another twist. Such a wonderful web. Excellent writing.
Thank you Keri Beevis, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me this opportunity to read an advanced readers copy of, “ The Summer House.” Due to be published March 6,2023.

Lana’s life is in danger so Lana and Xavier need to work fast to try to piece together the past and find out who’s really behind it all .
What I loved:
The story was written really well and I felt like I knew the characters in real life. This book was so good I had to keep reading till I found out what really happened I couldn’t put it down.
What I didn’t like:
The ending definitely left me with so many questions that I need answers to. Like what happens with Lana and Xavier? Does Sebastian forgive Lana for providing information to put him away for 17 years? How long is the real culprit put away for? Does Camille’s secret lover seek forgiveness? So many questions and no answers!
But overall I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good thriller from multiple perspectives. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more books from this author.
Big thanks to Boldhouse Books for this ARC! I am usually not one for 3rd person POV but this one was done well and mixed in some 1st person as well. I truly was guessing the whole time, and I love a good thriller set in London! I’ll definitely be reading more in the future by this author! It was a fun time!
Review is up on TikTok now!
4.75/5 stars! The premise of this book is SOOOOOOO good. This is one of those stories that takes a bit to pick up speed but once it does it never slows down. As with all good thrillers, there was a big false lead that I fell right into and I found myself stunned by the final reveal. This book also does a really special job of showing character growth for Lana. Who she was as a girl, who she was as a haunted woman returning to Mead House, and who she leaves as are entirely different entities and I was proud of her healing.
I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
I liked this book, but the end kind of dragged on for me. I appreciate the twisty outcome and I usually don’t like romance in my thrillers but this one was tolerable and I didn’t mind it at all. I would just have shortened up the ending by a few pages.
Another great read from Keri Beevis. The characters are well rounded and plenty of red herrings along the way. She always manages to get relationships right showing the multi faceted emotions that everyone has whilst ramping up the action. If you've never read her books before, you really don't know what you are missing. Buy this now.
Thank you to Netgalley for letting me read this arc! The Summer House is was a fantastic whodunit mystery intertwined with some romance and it kept me hooked from page one!
Lana and Ollie go back to their childhood home after the death of their grandmother to clear the house and get it ready to sell. Their older sister has been murdered there 17 years before, and they all thought the murder was solved. Once her secret journal is found, questions arise and Lana wonders if they really had the right person. This book is full of twists and suspense, along with some romance too. It will keep you guessing, and once you think you have it figured out you’ll realize that there is way more than anyone ever knew!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Wow there is a lot to unpack here. Not a bad book. Just a complicated one. A lot of characters to follow and guess about. A little confusing with the back and forth from last to present in some chapters. All around a pretty good book though. A bit extreme but a good read. Some of the things about Camille and her life were a bit exaggerated but still a good read.
Thank you to NetGalley for an arc of The Summer House in exchange for an honest review. This review is wholly my own & may not be reproduced.
I am a sucker for covers & titles & both of those grabbed me with this novel by Keri Beevis. I'm also a sucker for stories where the main characters have to revisit a home or a place from their past to work out their issues.
This novel revolves around Lana & her brother Ollie who lost their sister 17 years ago in a tragic accident, or was it? Lana & Ollie have to return to Mead House to empty it out for sale after their grandmother dies. They end up finding their sister's secret journal and now they are not sure at all what happened that terrible night 17 years ago, but the set out to find answers.
Beevis did an amazing job with this novel. The writing flowed very well and each page kept you wanting more. The pacing was on point, the characters perfectly written for their parts and the amount of drama, twists, turns, romance, etc. were just the right amount.
This was an extremely quick read for me of less than 24 hours. I FLEW through it. I highly recommend snagging a copy to read when it releases on March 6, 2023. I don't think you'll be disappointed!
4 Stars from me!
Lana is back at her childhood home to sort out what was her grandmother's house and she is meeting her twin brother Ollie there to help her. Seventeen years beforehand their sister Camille was murdered by Lana’s former boyfriend's brother Seb and Xav, the ex, is now back in the area but wants nothing to do with Lana despite her wanting to put things right between them. Lana discovers a previously undiscovered journal of her sisters that speaks of a “ G” whom she clearly had feelings for. Could G hold the key to what really happened that day and does Xav know more than he is letting on?
Wowsers! From the very beginning Keri has cleverly built a tension between the pages which doesn't let up. There’s Ollie’s new tedious girlfriend Elise who appears to have her own agenda and George the gardener turning up with a pitchfork. Then there is someone out to get Lana or so it appears which puts the reader in rather a spin- how very well crafted this plot is. OMG! This is a fast paced one heck of a page turner that I didn't want to put down. There are lots of red herrings and twists I really didn't see coming that flung me around. The queen of psychological thrillers strikes again. Wow and every other superlative. Stunning

A dark and enticing psychological thriller combined with a Whodunit plus many added secrets,a romance and a brimming with anger revenge…..what more could we want?
‘The Summer House’ was initially built for pleasant relaxing days but had turned into a den of obsession and lust…..and murder…..the culprit had been found and everyone, although it was difficult, had tried to carry on with their lives….however when they are all re united again it seems none of them has forgiven or forgotten and things are not as clear cut as they may have seemed
A tense yet enjoyable read with good non overpowering characters make this another great read from this author, full of suspense and ‘I wonders’ once again found myself needing to know what happened to who and why and how would it end
A powerful intoxicating read
10/10
Mead House has a summer house, a special place in the garden, is a place of secrets.
Holt Norfolk, and Lana Hamilton goes back, her Aunt Kitty now passed away this was her home and Lana and her siblings all spent long school holidays here, her sister Camille's murder in the summer house will never be forgotten, and Lana helped put Sebastian Landry the killer away for what he did, his brother Xavier she lost touch with afterward.
Turning up at the house to get it sorted and emptied for the estate agents she is shocked to find her twin Ollie there with his new Fiancee Elise Gladestone a surprise he had only come to help, but she didn't trust or like his new girlfriend.
After bumping into Xav he still hasn't forgiven her. George Maddox has been tending to the gardens at Mead House. Then she finds Camille's journals.
One sister murdered.
One brother Jailed.
One love betrayed.
This book has it all.
The author has perfectly been spot on with her lay out of the characters for readers to bring them all together in what I see as a unique harrowing story, I could not put it down as we learn the truth of what happened all those years ago there are plenty of twists as we learn the truth, and I love a twisty book coming from twisty minds of killers.
Fantastic that I think will become another best seller in the making.
Readers will love it.
17 years after the murder of their sister Lana and Ollie return to Mead House to clean it out and sell it after the death of their grandmother.
While in the house Lana finds a hidden diary of her sisters. Her ex boyfriend’s brother who she testified against that’s been locked up for years may be innocent. Many secrets and lies are revealed. This was a great book and was very suspenseful. Thanks NetGalley and Boldwood books for this ARC that will be released March 6, 2023!
Camille Hamilton was meeting her lover in her Grandmothers summer house. She puts in the blindfold left for her, but then realises it is not her lover but a brutal killer that doesn’t appreciate their relationship.
17 years later, the Grandmother has passed away and Camille siblings, twins Lana and Ollie come to sort through the estate. Though it seems someone is not happy to have Lana back in town as she is mowed down one evening, Lana escapes and while recovering, starts clearing Camilles old room and discovers her sisters secret journal that mentions the secret lover, G. Perhaps, the person convicted for the crime was really innocent?
An excellent standalone book by Keri Beevis, who continues to blow all expectations out the window.
This was such an interesting story, seeing how Lana copes with finding out new information about her sister which might change her assumptions of what she saw, or thought she did all those years ago!
This is a fascinating mystery/thriller with a good few twists and turns where almost everyone becomes a possible suspect in getting at the truth of what had happened.
This is another great read by Keri Beevis

The storyline was very interesting and had me glued to my Kindle! I will definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
