This book is fast-paced from get-go, and never really stops, while also being overall easy to follow along with. The whole set-up was nice, and I wish more fantasy books would adapt this. There’s a mystery that serves as the red thread throughout the story, with strands of lies, secrets and deceit being vowed into it. Something that I appreciated, since even though I had a guess what the solution to the mystery would be - it did not diminish my enjoyment of the uncovering of the truth from the characters. But, there’s a lot of things crammed in this one book - and with things like the magic I wished it had taken the time to slow-down a bit and more properly explain it.
Speaking of the characters, we have a no nonsense badass in Roz, and the sweetest boy in Damian. They worked so well together, and their dynamic was great. Their ever changing relationship felt natural, and both of them had their own character arc. With that said, there is some miscommunication between them - a trope which I’m not a fan of.
I had a good time with this book, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the sequel will bring. Hopefully it will be able to give some more explanations of the world. I just want to learn more about magic, and the different types of disciples there are.
What an astonishingly amazing debut!! I’m in awe. This was such an intriguing read. I loved the elements of mystery and romance. And i can’t wait enough for the next instalment already!!
4.75/5.
This book is simply gorgeous and in fact I read it in one breath. I really liked this story, the plot and the idea of the different saints, each with their own "faction". The mystery and romance are just perfect and the enemies to lovers is just amazing. All the characters are amazing, I will try as I really wanted them. this story captures you, and makes you love every single detail. the ending is just amazing and in fact I highly recommend it! Especially if you want to read a book that makes you love it and look forward to the next chapter!

In a society where those with magic are revered and everybody without is ignored, ex-soldier Damien is put in charge of investigating the murder of Death's disciple. The investigation brings him to reunite with his childhood sweetheart, who now hates him fiercely. And there seems to be much more behind the murder than anybody anticipated...
I actually quite liked this book. The world building could have been a bit more detailed since I still had some questions, and the start was slow. However by about a quarter of the way through I was gripped and eager to see where the plot was going! A slow burn, but worth it.

Seven Faceless Saints was one of my most anticipated releases and I'm so glad it lived up to my expectations. Since the first page, I was immediately captivated by the story. The mistery-murders' plot was well developed and held my attention until the last chapter. But what I loved most was the characters. Roz and Damian were two flawed, broken people. They've suffered and lost loved ones. They had to face tragedies and painful moments. They weren't perfect, and for that I loved them even more.
“What were they now except two people touched by tragedy? Two pieces of a whole, hardened by pain and broken in places only the other could see. A rebel and an officer, trying to patch together a splintered world.”
I highly recommend this story. And after that epilogue, I cannot wait to read the next and final book!
4.75/5 stars! This was a dark YA fantasy. The premise of this story reminded me of one of my favorite reads of 2022: "The Sunbearer Trials." The actual structure of the story also had correlations to big series like "Kingdom of the Cursed," "Red Queen," and "Hunger Games." I found this to be a delightful addition to the YA fantasy genre and appreciated the diversity and LGBTQ+ rep in the book. It took a little bit of time to get started, but once it did, I could not stop reading. Anxiously awaiting the next book by this author.
I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
So as we are told, if you are a fan of Bardugo and Maniscalco, this book is for you.
And it was because of the words written above that I requested Seven Faceless Saints by M.K. Lobb.
After the assassination of her father, Rossana Lacertosa is willing to do anything to dismantle the corrupt system and punish the culprits, the Ombrazian military.
And it is from this killing that an escalation of murders by the army begins; so far, however, no one has dared to intervene, until a disciple is found dead.
Damian and Rossana will have to work together, but along the way they will encounter much adversity and darkness.
Starting with the wonderful cover of this book, the interior left me a little bitter in the mouth.
I like the idea of the seven saints and rebels so much, personal opinion, the development of the story doesn't do justice to it.
As a narrative it"s scattered, underdeveloped and uneven.
For more than half the book I found myself, in succession, a string of first and last names that, right now, and I have just finished the book, I cannot remember a single one.
Despite a somewhat meh beginning, I trust in a better sequel, I feel I can recommend this book. In some respects it's a bit of a novelty in the fantasy world, although there is work to be done on it.

I read this book in one sitting because I just couldn't stop reading. I really liked the plot and the idea of the different saints, each with their own "faction". The mystery aspect of the story was really good and I did not guess that plot twist (iykyk). I really liked how the story was told as we were discovering what happened piece by piece, instead of all at once. And the romance, oh my. I love a good enemies to lovers, but add childhood lovers to enemies to lovers and you've got me. All the characters were really well written and I was interested in all the storylines, not just the main one. The only thing I wish would've been a little more developed is the disciples and their abilities, but I can also see why the author didn't go into too much detail as it i a series. Overall a great and entertaining read and now i have sooo many questions and I just want the second book like right now! Highly recommend it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Titan Books for the digital ARC of this book.
I believed that I had read some good books lately. I read a lot of fantasy and I enjoy most of it. Now that all feels inferior to this book. It has been so long since I had to put a book down, turn off my device or take a break from reading because I was so annoyed at a character or frustrated at not spotting a twist, for having an inkling and then convincing myself I was wrong. But this book. THIS BOOK. Multiple times I had to put by iPad to one side and just shout, sorry to my neighbours.
I cried, I laughed, I fell in love with characters, I became addicted and read two thirds of this book in one sitting. I can’t wait to tell everyone to read this book. The writing made the story flow so easily that, even when introduced to new concepts and learning about the saints, powers and history, it didn’t feel alienating or confusing like some books can.
I desperately need more.
