You're either obsessed with it or your not and unfortunately I was not.
I found myself uninterested in the story and the characters unfortunately.

Liza North's debut novel, *Obsessed*, is a psychological thriller that will captivate you from the very first page. This gripping story follows Laura, a woman who appears to have it all: a loving husband, children, and a beautiful home. However, beneath the surface, Laura harbors a dark secret that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect life.

When Alexis, a figure from Laura's past, reappears, her carefully constructed world begins to crumble. Their intense connection reignites, pulling Laura into a dangerous web of obsession and deceit. As the lines between reality and illusion blur, she finds herself in a desperate struggle for survival.

North masterfully weaves a tale of suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats with unexpected twists and turns. The narrative shifts between Laura's perspective and that of an unknown observer, heightening the tension and leaving you guessing until the very end.

The brisk pace throughout the novel ensures there's never a dull moment. Laura is a complex and relatable protagonist—flawed yet sympathetic. The supporting characters are also well-developed, each with their own secrets and motivations. North creates a palpable sense of unease, drawing readers into the story's dark and twisted world.

While the ending is surprising, it feels somewhat rushed and leaves a few loose ends.

*Obsessed* is a thrilling and suspenseful read that will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers. Despite a slightly hurried conclusion, North's debut is a promising start to her career, and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

If you enjoy twisty thrillers with complex characters and a healthy dose of suspense, *Obsessed* is definitely worth checking out.

Multiple pov tale over multiple timelines seimgly unlinked grabbed my attention . I hungry to fund out the conclusion of both times lines. It's a tale of obsession in its various forms itcdeals with complex issues such as infidelity . Religion, child abuse and bullying. I was invested in the characters and it was actioned pacted. However the final end was a bit matter of fact and this disappointed as there was not enough explanation for me . It was basic. Recommended for anyone who likes a multiple pov over multiple timelines. It is axtionpacjed just ve careful with the ending.
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author

Laura, a woman with a seemingly perfect life in Edinburgh, has a husband, children, and a home she loves. But beneath the surface, she harbors a secret from her past. When Alexis, her high school sweetheart, reappears in her life, Laura finds herself drawn to their exhilarating love once again. Despite knowing it’s a dangerous path, she can’t resist.

However, everything changes when Alexis is found dead, and the police come knocking at Laura’s door. She insists she didn’t kill him, but someone with an unrelenting obsession wants her to pay for her past. As the truth unravels, Laura must confront her secrets and face the consequences.

The author weaves a rollercoaster of suspense, keeping readers on edge. Laura’s struggle to maintain her facade of happiness while dealing with the haunting past and a relentless pursuer makes for a gripping read. The tension builds as lies unravel, and the stakes become higher.

This one is very much a slow burner but it sucks you in and keeps you turning the pages. It's gripping and very well written, especially as I gather it's a debut novel

This book was definitely a book about obsession. The title was so fitting
In the first few chapters we are introduced to Laura, whose lover has been murdered outside her house and we are also introduced to Holly, as who is introduced as teenager, suffering with acne and appearing to be quite jealous of her friends and their achievements
At first I wasn’t quite sure how the two characters were related and now their stories were interlinked. However it became clear and I was so intrigued about hopes story. I really did feel for the girl and it was clear no one realised or cared that she was being abused
the book did feel repetitive at times and I was getting so angry at Laura not seeming to care about her children, but also realised she was genuinely obsessed with Alexis
The book was a slow burner only adding to the tense, obsessive behaviour that the author demonstrates perfect.

A brilliant story told with many a shock and a wow as you read chapter after chapter not wanting to leave it down. I would really recommend this book as a must read. I was drawn into Laura’s story from chapter 1

Very well written, with a twist ending! Would look to read more by the author. The characters are very well drawn, and it's a timely novel, for the era we live in. It has spooky elements and there were times I couldn't put it down as I was on the edge of my seat. Not quite 5 star as one or two predictable moment. Hope to read more by the same author.

Awesome.
Laura has a husband, children, a home in a city she loves. She thinks she can be happy, despite her past. Until someone walks back into her life who she knows will shatter everything. Alexis was her first love. A love so exhilarating, it is impossible to resist. Then Alexis is found dead, and the police are knocking at Laura's door. They're asking her questions and she's telling them lies. Someone wants Laura to pay for what she's been running from. Someone with an obsession that they can't let go.
I can't believe It's a debut novel. Wow.
Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown Books UK Constable for giving me an advance copy.

This story is about a woman who has the perfect life, a husband, children, and good job, but she also has a lot of secrets from her past. Her biggest secret is the fact that she has never fully gotten over her high school boyfriend. When he comes back into her life and ends up being murdered after leaving her house, her entire life comes crashing down, she might just lose everything.

I honestly had a tough time getting through this one. I didn’t like the main character at all, but the biggest thing for me is although I have read books that go back and fourth between timelines, this one was hard to follow. I felt like there was too much going on to fully follow along.

I feel as though it took away from the book quite a bit. There were a few twists in the book that caught me by surprise but none that really made my jaw drop. This book was just mediocre for me.

A debut dual timeline thriller set between nowadays in Edinburgh and 1990s secondary school.
It’s a story of first love and infatuation.
Laura was head over heels with Alexis at 17. But that was 20 years ago and she’s married with a daughter now.
So when she bumps into Alexis at her daughter’s nursery, the infatuation rekindles and they start an illicit affair.
4 months later Alexis is dead and Laura is top of the police’s suspect list.
Perfect dual timeline twisty thriller, with a compelling, well plotted storyline - I couldn’t put it down.
