Oh mamma! This was such a good read! Loved the MMC. The FMC was a bit whiny for my liking but I appreciated the plot!
Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC for an exchange for an honest review.
I thought it was a great story. Enjoyed it.
Ehhh, just not a book I could get into! I like the plot and characters, but it was just not for me!
Thank you though the NetGalley, the author, and BooksGoSocial for a copy!
I was looking for some kinky smut book, but I couldn't get into this one unfortunately.
I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy this book/series if you're really into the genre.
I don't read many monster romances, but I wanted to give this one a go. I liked the relationship between the childhood friends to lovers and the intricate fantasy world building that the author shaped in this book. While I hadn't read the first one, there was more than enough backstory to fill in the gaps in a natural way. This was definitely a spicy romance book with more than a few explicit scenes. Overall, a good story.
This was a NetGalley review.
Werewolves. Love. Spice. Romance. Fantasy. This book has it all. Even a good ending. Can’t wait for more
This is not my normal read - however the fantasy elements is what drew me in and then I found out that the romance elements are something I liked. Verging on Smut level. This is a book that I will be recommended to my friends who like a fantasy romance hybrid book.
Such a pretty cover!
I’m so happy i was able to read this. It was such a fun time. They were literally soo adorable. Perfect for when you are in the mood for something fun and easy to read.

I was so excited to receive this book, but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. This book had such potential, but I could not get past the drugging and sexual acts afterward. I get where the author was trying to go, but I couldn't stomach reading past 25%. I would like to give this author another try in the future!
Thank you NetGalley for the arc!

Spicy and steamy romance between a shifter and human. This shifter does not have a human side, reader beware. The story and romance build slowly which makes for good reading. The author is skilled at world and character building.

Publication Date :24th January 2023
Genre: Romance, Sci-Fi and Fantasy
Frist this is the second book in the series which wasn't stated in the arc.
The series Werewolves of Ulterra. While each is a stand-alone, the characters are all interconnected, and reading them in order adds to the series significantly. After meeting Juri in Fate Awakened, I was eager to read Juri and Triska's story, and I was not disappointed! Ulterra has been crafted by Jocelyn into an intriguing and complex world filled with creatures, magic, lore, and mysteries (also, huge fan of the map and glossary, it really helps to further flesh out the world). While the spice is excellently written, the story is clearly plot driven. Friends-to-lovers stories don't usually hold my attention for long, but the pacing, angst, and plot made it difficult to put down. The characters are rich and complex, and their chemistry is wonderful.

Fate Promised by Jocelyn Montana is the second book, after Fate Awakened, and follows another werewolf from the pact, this time Juri. Sweet, sweet Juri.
This novel had a lot more action - think a touch of sea adventure and some more unexpected monsters - and was overall well written and I enjoyed Juri and Triska, but honestly... I liked the first book more.
Fate Promised was interesting and well written, and took a different approach to creating the relationship between the main characters - they already knew each other from childhood - and it did scratch the itch for another book from this author.
You don't need to have read the first book - according to Goodreads this is a stand-alone - and I think I would almost say to read the first one second, and this one first so that you can jump into the adventure of this one and fall into what ends up being a more sweet story with the Fate Awakened afterward.
This is a SPICEY adult themed book, and while it doesn't have the greatest number of spice scenes, it definitely still has them.
I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I found this book to be well plotted and richly characterized. The pace was slow to begin, but like a freight train it developed a strong momentum. It is possible that had I read the first book in this series I might have been more in tune with the magic of this world. The central characters; Triska and Juri, seemed a bit young for their years.
This was a feast of a book rather than a snack as is so often found these days. Shapeshifters of various types, magic users both good and vile, people with straightforward motivation and complex histories have been woven together with skill and surprises showing the depth of craft this author brings to the work.
I will need to go buy the first book, and then the next!
A solid romance with good characters a hot romance and nice storyline to keep you engaged, A nice weekend read!!
Rating: 4.5/5
I received a copy of eARC for my honest opinion.
I was hooked on the first book, and the second book of this series did not let me down at all.
What would you do if you knew you were fated to someone, but you also knew that you could not do anything about it because your kind was fated to be alone. Would you break the rules and just stalk away, just so you could get to see them even if it was from afar? What would you do if your fated mate was thrown at you but at the worst time and all because of an evil witch trying to raise the demons of the underworld.
I loved that the author did a second chance romance, with it also being childhood romance as well. I loved everything in Juri and Triska's relationship from the beginning to the end. It was an emotional roller coaster ride. From hot, undeniable chemistry between the 2 MC, action scenes, heartfelt tears to jumping with joy.
I thought Juri's and Triska's book was done very well from the plot to the characters. I loved that there were little twists and turns in the plot, and that the book was well paced. The characters were well developed, I mean you get to read about their childhood romance then see them as adults it was great. I also really like that even though this is a book in a series its still a standalone and so you don’t have to read the first book to really get the concept of it, but I highly recommend that you do pick up book 1 because you will not be disappointed in it. I thought the spice level was a little more in this book and I loved the hide and seek scene the most, like dang! I would still rate the spice level to be at 3-3.5. I thought Triska’s struggles/worries about telling Juri an important part of her was a little drawn out but after reading more and more of the book I could see why it had to go down like that and I think the author did a great job with Triska's character. Juri, what is there not to love? He is a strong protective werewolf, also so kind and sweet, but let me tell you that is one very hot naughty wolf at the same time.
I can not wait to see what book 3 will bring us and who else is going to find their rune-fated mates.
If you like Fated mates, childhood/monster romances, second chances, steamy scenes, great humor I recommend this book to you.
I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to review this book.
This is the second book in this series. And oh boy! This was so good. I thought it was just as good as the first book.
I just reviewed Fate Promised by Jocelyn Montana. #FatePromised #NetGalley

This was an interesting read - I will be 100% honest the listing doesn't say it is the second book in a series so I did go back and read the first one in order to better understand the themes of this book. Overall not a bad read and would recommend for a mon-rom book
Fate Promised is the second addition to the Werewolves of Ulterra series. While each is a standalone - the characters are all interconnected and reading them in order definitely adds to the series. I was excited to read Juri and Triska’s story after meeting Juri in Fate Awakened and was not disappointed! Jocelyn has crafted Ulterra into an interesting and complex world filled with creatures, magic, lore, and mysteries (also, huge fan of the map and glossary, it really helps to further flesh out the world). While the spice is very well written, the story is definitely plot driven. Typically friends-to-lovers doesn’t hold my interest long, but the pacing, angst, and plot made it hard to put down. The characters are deep and complex, and their chemistry with each other is lovely. I can’t wait to read the next!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this copy enchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in werewolf of ultra books. It can be read as a standalone, however I will not recommend it.
The first book does a better job at discribing the creatures in the world than the definitions in the book. I think it is probably because the creatures are discribed as they encounter them.
I am very noisy and want the what, where and who at all times. Plus, I have a short attention span.
This book is HEA but authors sure makes them work for it. It is less fluff and more romanticasy with semi transformed werewolves (and their knots).
This book is low on smut and high on character development, world building and plot. There is no weird age gap with the fated mates (*cough* Twilight *cough*).
In all I give this book 3/5 stars and will probably continue the series.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Steam: 🌶️🌶️/5
Tropes: childhood friends, mutual pining, mates, close proximity
This is my first book by this author. It was a fast and sweet read.. The characters are unique and so is the love story. This is such a great fantasy romance. Loved the dynamic between Juri and Triska, Juri was a total cinnamon roll for Triska..
