Love Me Do is ideal predictable but enjoyable fluff to be devoured on sun bed in one sitting by the pool or beach.

Before giving my opinion on this summer read, I want to thank NetGalley , HarperCollins UK and Lindsey Kelk for an ARC of “Love Me Do” in exchange for an honest review.

Phoebe, our main character, travels to Los Angeles, CA to visit her sister Suzanne, who lives in a beautiful house in the Hollywood Hills 🏡 Phoebe meets next door neighbour Ren, who is a carpenter. We also meet Bel, who is the personal trainer of Phoebe’s sister, and an ex-movie star living in the neighbourhood. Each character brought so much to the story and the relationship development between them was so nice to read.

I really connected with Phoebe, she has, great sense of humour, loves Twilight (like I do!), and she is just so lovely. I normally wouldn’t 100% relate to the main characters but this time I really enjoyed living the LA life through Phoebe’s eyes because of how similar we are, genuinely felt like I was there✨

This was a feel-good romance, the chemistry between characters and the flow of the story was just excellent. The setting was also brilliantly described and I felt like I was right there in LA (even though I’ve never been). The book put me in such a great mood, now I’m so excited for summer and will definitely pick up Lindsey’s other books soon. Now it’s time for me to manifest a sequel😉

🌴Love Me Do is out on 20 July 2023 in the UK🌴

I fell in love with Lindsey Kelk’s books from the first time I picked up I Heart New York. There is something unique about her ability to write loveable characters overcoming difficult circumstances and her blend of emotion and witty banter. Love Me Do is one of her best.

Phoebe Chapman is a British woman who has just come out of a toxic relationship. Needing to get away she travels to Hollywood Hills California to stay with her sister on a two-week holiday. Upon her arrival, her sister notes that she needs to go away on a business trip for a few days. But her home is a vacationers paradise complete with a fully stocked fridge and a large swimming pool.

She meets the attractive neighbour next door named Ren her first evening in town and the following morning her sister’s personal trainer Bel. We learn that Bel has had a crush on Ren for quite some time but she can’t even speak properly when she’s around him. Phoebe suggests writing a letter to articulate her feelings to Ren but Bel convinces Phoebe to write the letter for her. Ren is smitten by the letter and he and Bel begin to date. By this time, Phoebe also realizes she has feelings for Ren as well.

We also meet a elderly reclusive Hollywood star living in the neighbourhood and the two begin a friendship. This gives the story just a bit of Hollywood glam and charm. Without giving anything away, this woman gives Phoebe the insight into creating for herself a happy future.

I highly recommend this book to those readers who enjoy humour and interesting characters in their romance stories.

As a huge fan of Lindsey Kelk, with her last two books getting 5 stars from me, I could not wait to read Love Me Do.
Now this gave me The Holiday vibes in a very good way, especially when it came to Phoebe interacting with Myrna.
However, the whole setting Bel up with Ren storyline just didn't work for me. I know it showed Phoebe falling for Ren but something about it didn't gel for me. You just knew that Bel and Ren weren't right for one another or going to end up together, so that whole storyline felt like a wasted opportunity. I guess I'm not a fan of someone being a matchmaker when they have feelings for the man in question.
But I did really like the escapist holiday nature of this book and almost feeling like you're there on holiday with Phoebe. Lindsey has created a world which feels so real and as though you could step into the pages and find yourself in LA with Phoebe.
I also particularly enjoyed every scene which involved or revolved around Myrna. I thought they were especially strong. Myrna was easily my favourite character.
It might not be my new favourite Lindsey Kelk story but it is still definitely worth a read.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

There's something about a Lindsey Kelk book that makes you feel like you are listening to an old pal tell a story and this one is no different, Set in LA, our heroine Phoebe has gone to visit her sister Suzanne who then abandons her to go on a work trip and leaves Phoebe in LA to get up to all sorts of mischief! With a storyline that reminded me of The Holiday (favourite film!) this was of the normal high standard of writing we now expect from this author who is now an auto read without reading the blurb. With comedy and romance this is a perfect holiday read.

Another lovely easy read from Lindsey Kelk. Lovely, relatable characters, some emotional moments and some laugh out loud moments.

My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

Lindsey Kelk's latest rom-com is full of sunshine and joy whilst simultaneously touching on themes of trauma and toxic relationships, lightened considerably by some screamingly funny moments. It is the perfect antidote to the disturbing darkness of much of my normal reading fare, it has a jet lagged 33 year old Brit, greetings card writer Phoebe Chapman, land in LA for a two week stay with her sister, Suzanne, whom she hasn't seen for a long time. Unfortunately, the high powered Suzanne has to leave for Seattle almost immediately for work, leaving Phoebe behind to make the most of her luxuriously stunning home. However, Phoebe's laid back plans are thrown into disarray when she meets the handsome, bird obsessed carpenter neighbour, Ren Garcia, on whom she develops a huge hopeless crush.

She goes on to meet the beautiful, charismatic personal trainer, Bel Johnson, who gatecrashes into her life with a bang, with a sunny, cheerleader, optimistic personality that would normally put the sarcastic and cynical Phoebe off, but she finds herself entranced and protective of Bel instead. Ren and Bel serve to introduce Phoebe to a side of LA that few see, the real, alternative picture of the best places to eat, glorious hikes and more. In addition, Bel drags her into adventures, like the wealthy rich kids party where they pose as mermaids. Feeling Ren is way out of her league, Phoebe plays a behind the scenes matchmaker to Bel and Ren, providing the words for a Bel who is in love with him, although she falls crushingly apart in his company. Then there is the elderly, faded old Hollywood reclusive film star, the outrageous Myrna Moore, who it has to be said steals the whole show.

We learn why Phoebe has low self esteem and finds it almost impossible to believe in love, something she only starts to address once she begins to talk about what happened with to her with her ex-boyfriend, Thomas. Phoebe and Suzanne rebuild their sisterly bonds after years of hiding their vulnerabilities and secrets from each other. This is a delightfully moreish, vibrant, escapist rom-com that I am certain a wide range of readers are likely to adore, with a fabulous location, appealing characters and packed with laughs. What's not to like? Mahy thanks to the publisher for an ARC.

Huge thank you to HarperFiction for my copy of this to read via Netgalley!

Phoebe Chapman works in greeting card copywriting so is a bit of a whizz at penning feelings on paper. During a trip to the US to stay at her sister Suzanne’s house, she attempts to play Cupid by helping her sister’s friend write a love letter for her hot neighbour, but finds herself falling for him in the process.

This was a fun romcom but in true typical Lindsey Kelk style, it also has some more serious undertones making it a laugh out loud but heartwarming, well rounded summer read. I found it wonderfully escapist and the character of Phoebe was a little quirky but loveable and soon had me rooting for her . I think my favourite character was, former Hollywood star Myrna who lives in Suzanne’s neighbourhood. The way Phoebe befriends her and the insight into the glamorous world of being an actress reminded me so much of the Christmas film The Holiday. Delightful read providing why I return to Lindsey’s books again and again.

Lindsey Kelk always manages to write quirky, clumsy, goofy but loveable and relatable characters and Phoebe is no exception. I loved every character in this book, but especially Myrna.
I got really strong The Holiday vibes from this and I'm not mad about it. The story felt wholesome and comforting and despite having a 12 week old baby, I managed to devour this in a couple of sittings.

Love Me Do is probably my favourite of her books. I could easily see this as a movie and would watch the hell out of it.

Lindsey Kelk does it again, providing sharp wit, banter and characters you wish were your friends.

Love Me Do is a fun, hilarious Cyrano de Bergerac meets 'The Holiday', as Phoebe Chapman visits her LA based sister Suzanne for a fortnight and finds herself falling for her sister's neighbour Ren, while helping her sister's personal trainer Bel pursue him. Along the way Phoebe meets Suzanne's other neighbour, former Hollywood siren Myrna.

I loved all the characters and their chemistry (especially Ren and Phoebe phoar). In all honesty though, I think Myrna and Los Angeles vied for the top billing in this book. Kelk writes how, despite being a city with many flaws (traffic and freeways), its surrounded by so much beauty with the beaches and mountains.

I laughed so many times reading this book with Phoebe and Suzanne's acerbic banter and their sharp observations. Myrna also stole the show. I also loved the sister relationship between Phoebe and Suzanne, and how they have been remiss in truly sharing their lives, especially in the aftermath of their gran's death.

However, I would be remiss to not praise the way Kelk carefully delves into the aftermath of toxic relationships and how they can mess with you long after you are finally rid of them. Phoebe is a survivor, but the result is she's built a wall to evade any love in case she makes the same mistake again.

This book was like a dose of Los Angeles sunshine on a smog-free day. I couldn't put it down because its another Lindsey Kelk winner. Love me do? Oh yes, I do love this book.

Thanks to Harper Collins UK and NetGalley for the ARC.

This is my first novel by Kelk and I was excited at the prospect of reading it. It started off well but I couldn't connect to Phoebe at all, which was strange as the overarching theme of finding someone that loves you just as you are is right up my street.

Brit Phoebe is visiting her sister, Suzanne, in Los Angeles. But as Suzanne has to work away in Seattle, Phoebe befriends her sister's personal trainer, the beautiful actress Bel. She's intent on setting up Bel, with her sister's next door neighbour, Ren, even though she’s attracted to him herself. Some of this set-up seemed unbelievable, especially when an actress that looks as beautiful as Bel struggles to speak in coherent sentences to a man she fancies. I wanted to like it, as the blurb made the plot sound interesting, but the execution was lacking originality. I also didn't feel much chemistry between Phoebe and Ren.

Phoebe is spending two weeks in LA with her sister Suzanne for a much needed holiday after a rough couple of years, but the day she lands in, Suzanne informs her she has to go to Seattle for work and will be away for a few days - which turns into pretty much the entire time Phoebe is in LA!

Happy to stay in Suzanne's LA mansion on her own, Phoebe very quickly meets incredibly hot next door neighbour, Ren, when she spots him spying on her with binoculars. After shouting at him and calling him a pervert, he explains he was watching a hawk that had flown into the trees behind her house and not spying on her. Ren invites her down to look for herself from his place and sure enough there is a hawk in the trees.

The next morning, Phoebe meets Suzanne's gorgeous personal trainer, Bel Johnson and they quickly become friends. Bel takes her to get brunch at a local spot when they see Ren walk past. He stops to talk to them and Phoebe introduces him to Bel who simply says "snigh" in complete embarrassment. Phoebe decides to help Bel date Ren but quickly realised that she likes Ren but it takes almost to the end of the story for her to actually tell Ren how she feels (once she hears that Bel and Ren have ended things between them).

Love Me Do is a sweet story and after the last couple of years Phoebe has had, I'm glad she was able to get her happy ending. If you're a fan of Lindsey Kelk, then you will definitely enjoy this story as well.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This was my first book that I've read by this author. I see her books everywhere and know she is really popular so I was excited when @netgalley approved me for this read.

This book is a perfect summer read. Phoebe goes to visit her sister in LA in order to try and forget about her ex and his imminent wedding.

Phoebe is a great character. She's very relatable and her relationship with her sister is flawed. This creates for some lovely moments in the book as their relationship develops. The book definately gives "the holiday vibes" which can't be a bad thing.

The other characters in this book provide us with great entertainer. And I loved reading about Myrna. She was such an icon.

Although this is a nice easy read, the book does cover some serious topics too which adds to the book.

I'm loving that there was loads of twilight references in this book as it made me quite nostalgic. I have no doubt that this book will be every much as successful as her previous ones.

You can always rely on Lindsey Kelk that she'll deliver a fabulous, sunny story, balancing the important with fun.

I loved Phoebe, she was so chaotic but also so full of spirit, the best mix, just my kind of character. Her sister Susanne was completely opposite but they complemented each other so well and I really regretted the fact that Susanne was mostly absent, because the scenes with both of them, the dialogue and banter between them was uplifting and heart - warming. However, the star of the story was for me, I think, Bel. Brilliant, simply brilliant! And, to be honest, there was romance, of course there was, rather complicated and not straightforward, but for me it was the three women that made this story. Add to this Myrna as well, and oh my god, you have the most hilarious foursome - they couldn't be more different, but they respected each other (well, Myrna perhaps didn't) and there was so much understanding and support in their interactions.

What I absolutely adore in Lindsey Kelk's novels is the fact that they are humorous and spirit - lifting, but they never feel meaningless, you know. There is always something important, there is always an issue or two that she brilliantly smuggles into the text and plot.

This is a real page - turner that, yes, had some slower moments, but it's heart - warmng and uplifting, a perfect summer read. I adored the setting, the sunny LA was so brilliantly described and I so enjoyed discovering the different side of it.
