I love Lindsey Kelk novels. They are fun, cute and definitely full of romance. Love Me Do is no different.
Phoebe isn't in the best place in her life, though that's nothing new, she's been hovering on the outside for a while, and when she goes to stay with her sister Suzanne in Hollywood you have to question whether she is seeking a bit of an escape from the world crashing down on her, or if she's just taking a well-earned break.
I loved the characters we were introduced to, especially our ageing Hollywood star, Myra, who has several of the qualities that I really liked about Evelyn Hugo. She's exuberant, extravagant and truly doesn't care what other people think of her. There is something about the way she's described so well that makes her actually the most visible character in the book.
Bel struck me as a little bit too much, she is enthusiastic about everything but at the same time rather shallow. I guess that these were the two extremes, Myra and Bel. One made it the other wants to.
So, what of our love interest? There's no denying that Ren has something, but the spark between him and Phoebe is more of a slow burn that takes almost the whole book to get to - because Phoebe with her writing skills just has to play Cyrano to Bel's Christian and Ren's Roxane!
I enjoyed this book, but more for the character interaction than the romance.

Lindsey Kelk's books have been either a hit or miss for me so far. And when it comes to this, I'm still unsure how I feel about it.
Set in LA, this story was rediscovering yourself & all the relationships around you. While I loved the relationship Phoebe had with her sister, Bel & a certain celebrity, I didn't particularly enjoy the romance.
The friendship/bonding between the women was the highlight of this book. With the romance, I didn't feel much of a spark.
<i>Thank you, Netgalley, and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.<i>

This was a fab fab story. Phoebe is an incredibly likeable character, as is almost everyone she meets on what turns out to be the holiday of a lifetime. She is more forgiving than me- I’d be furious if the sister I flew to visit disappeared on a work trip- and yet she doesn’t let that hold her back from having a magical time in LA and befriending nearly everyone she meets!
I loved the different threads of the story, from Myrna and her glitzy past to Ren and his grandpa. It was all so enjoyable to read and I found it very hard to put down. A stellar read

As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the publisher's blurb or give away the plot!
This is a real feel-good novel, perfect as a summer read (or would cheer you up at any time of year!).
The plot is set in sunny California, and the descriptions of the settings were so good that I could picture the locations in my mind's eye. The main characters are believable, and show that you can't judge a book by it's cover. There's also a great cast of supporting characters - my favourites being Bel (a bubbly, zany lass with several jobs - I'll say no more except one leads to some hilarious events!) and Myrna (old-school Hollywood star and still fabulous - some great one-liners).
As usual, Lindsey Kelk's writing made me laugh out loud at times, and at other times evoked poignant memories (of my own grandparents).
Another superb novel - I look forward to reading the next!
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

Love me do is a feel good, romantic story about a greeting card copywriter visiting her sister in sunny LA and the friendships she builds while there on holiday. The main character Pheobe had me constantly laughing and smiling throughout the book with her humorous nature and funny comments. She is such a great lead character, very relatable. All of the characters in the book (apart from her ex) are very likeable. Each adding to the main storyline in their unique ways from the new friendships with the bubbly Bel and the elegant former hollywood actress Myra, to the alluring and friendly neighbour Ren that she can’t stop thinking about.
I also loved reading about a different side of LA and the message of exploring beneath the surface to find hidden gems. It was a great book and I can’t wait to read more by Lindsey Kelk!

'Love Me Do' is a joyous, feel-good read from Kelk and one that I could not put down. The plot is incredibly entertaining from start to finish, although I did think it was taken straight from 'The Holiday'. There are plenty of laughs and lovely moments to warm the heart. The setting of LA is perfection and offers warm weather and escapism. Plus, the characters are likeable, lovable and really bring the story to life.
I particularly liked Kelk's cultural references in this, Kelk always does a lot but I felt there were even more in this and it always makes it fun to find them.
'Love Me Do' is just a gorgeous, entertaining read that made me happy. You will not regret reading this.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for an advance copy.

Hilariously wonderful to read. A real feel-good story told beautifully. I was swept away by the characters and their connections with each other. Lindsey is a real go-to author for me when I need a little extra happiness in my life. Loved it.

Set in the States. Two sisters who were British but had drifted a part, an eccentric old movie star- who said what she thought - a gorgeous neighbour . Also a great personal trainer. Both sisters had secrets. I won’t spoil it but the phone call Ren had about her x had me in tears. Read it and you will get it. A great story.

I absolutely love this Cyrano De Bergerac inspired story. It was fun, filled with hollywood glamour, oozed romance with a hot male lead and was at times humorous. Great side characters too. Another hit from Lindsey Kelk.

A vacation in your rich sisters LA villa, heck yes! Right as Phoebe’s settling in a woman barges into the house, Bel her sisters trainer. She’s drop dead gorgeous, full of energy and also a great friend. Then there’s the neighbor, Ren. Super hot, funny, easy to talk, the list goes on. And literally no one’s surprised that Bel is super into him but she doesn’t know how to approach him. So in an effort to help Phoebe decides to play matchmaker.
I love everything about this, its an all around amazing read! The LA setting brings the sunshine and beach feel. The characters are in the center and more importantly, they’re hilarious and super likable. Just wait until Myrna shows up. Another one of the neighbors who’s an 80+ retired Hollywood actress. She’s giving Evelyn Hugo vibes but with some added humor. Literally everything she says is hilarious.
Trigger warning! There is also some emotional moments, both of the mcs struggle with the loss of their grandparents. And there’s also some past relationship trauma, emotional abuse is still abuse. It’s all handled really well and imo it’s not that dark but it could be triggering for some.
The play on the friends to lovers trope and matchmaking is really fun! Those can be really hit or miss for me but in this case it’s done so well. The one thing that could have made this even better is the slow burn aspect, it’s a bit to slow. And for those who are wondering it’s not spicy apart from one scene but it’s pretty tame.
To summarize, this is the perfect feel good summer read! Perfect for romance readers and fans of Christina Lauren and Emily Henry.

This was really really lovely and almost a 5⭐️ for me.
I had the warm and fuzzies, I enjoyed watching Ren and Phoebe grow closer, the secondary characters were really likeable (Myrna, Suzanne, Bel) and it was just really wholesome.
Only things making it a four rather than a five is I’d have liked the Thomas situation to have been a little more fleshed out - it seemed like quite an important part of Phoebe’s backstory and character to get about ten pages of information.
But I loved it, I’m a big fan of Kelk and always enjoy her work.

Oh she's done it again! It's no secret that Lindsey Kelk is one of my absolute favourite authors, so when I got an early copy of Love Me Do (out in July) I was DELIGHTED! It's safe to say you're in for a treat this summer with this one.
Phoebe is visiting her sister in LA for a few weeks, whilst desperately trying to keep her mind of her ex and his upcoming wedding.
I warmed to Phoebe instantly- such a relatable character with genuine concerns and anxieties. She, and the book as a whole, was just laugh out loud funny throughout.
I loved every character in this book - the dynamics between Phoebe and each of them individually (and as a group, to be honest) was PERFECT and I loved seeing them all interact. I want Bel to come and pick *me* up to go out for breakfast. I loved that Phoebe's relationship with her sister was flawed, as because of this we got to see some beautiful bonding moments, and I was glad they were able to develop their relationship further.
Myrna was just a dream to read - what an absolute icon in every sense. I got big The Holiday vibes from her part of the story and it was so much fun to watch unfold.
Whilst this book is so much fun, there are also a few more serious topics in the book handled with such care and tact that I couldn't not mention as both were written about so brilliantly.
Overall, from delicious food to scenic heights to Disneyland, this book will make you fall in love with LA; it's definitely been added to my travel bucket list, anyway. If only I had all of these guys to show me around...
PS. I am SO here for the amount of Twilight references in this book.

There is nothing quite like a Lindsey Kelk book to pull me out of a reading slump and this book is no exception.
The characters are always strong and in this book we meet Phoebe who has flown to Los Angeles to see her sister. This is when we meet Bel, Ren and eventually Myrna, who I just adored. The situations that Phoebe finds herself in are just hilarious and she is just a fab character with such a good heart. There is some hard hitting sections but it just added to the characters involved.
Not to give away the storyline, I would love a sequel to see where the characters go from here. This is a perfect summer read

This was a fun story with great side characters and a great atmosphere. This reminded me of Kate Winslet's story in 'The Holiday' and it was a fun time. It did end quite abruptly. I'm not the biggest fans of epilogues but this story could have ended a bit smoother but that's a minor detail.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: Romance,
Its ages since I've read a Lindsey Kelk novel, this sound fun and light, just what I need right now. For me reading is very mood dependent.
I found it very slow to start though, but about 20% in I really got invested in the story. I loved Phoebe, Ren and of course Bel. I could see how easily Phoebe got sucked into doing things that she really didn't want to, Bel is such a great character that it was simple to see how phoebe got drawn in. she just wanted everyone happy, and if it was at the price of her own...well..that's the price you pay for friends she seemed to think.
Ren, I want a man like him, caring, thoughtful, and handy around the house!!
The tale was fun, full f little snippets of humour mixed with Phoebe's regrets that she wouldn't admit to herself. There were times when credulity was stretched to its fullest, but hey – its fiction.
A great holiday read, light, easy and fun.
Stars: four, a great holiday read to relax with.

This book is the perfect summer beach read, it was so much fun to read! Greeting card writer Phoebe is used to writing romantic lines for everyone else, so when she travels from London to LA to visit her sister and get over a bad breakup, it's easy for her to fall into this role with all her neighbours. Whether it's the handsome carpenter & birdwatcher Ren, a charismatic retired movie star, or her sister's trainer, she has the answer to all their problems.. which is a great distraction from her own. The characters are interesting and relatable, and get up to such fun together that I almost felt like I had taken a vacation to LA myself. Lindsey Kelk is an absolute master at writing stories that are both both hilarious and heartwarming, and just pure joy to read.

‘Love me do’ follows Phoebe as she travels to LA to spend some much needed time with her sister. What she gets, however is stuck in the middle of trying to help her new friend start a relationship with her new crush.
This book was filled with lots of fun side characters and sunshine, making it a great beach read. It gave me ‘The Holiday’ vibes but during summer.
Thank you NetGalley and Harper North for the ARC.

Devoured Lindsey’s new book
Awesome characters whom i am hoping each get their own spin off. Beautiful characters beautiful setting what more could anyone ask for?
The perfect way to spend an afternoon left with a smile on my face wanting more

I love Lindsey Kelk! I could not put this book down, I loved it. The characters, the storyline, I want to be in this book! Highly recommend ⭐️

I loved this and think it might be my favourite Lindsey Kelk book!
I loved the setting of LA, and it has made me desperate to go there on holiday!
I loved the relationship between the 2 sisters and would like a spin off for Phoebe’s sister please!
The romance as great & swoony and I loved the new friendships made.
This book really looked at loving yourself and coming of self, self confidence, friendships, taking risks and it felt like an ode to the past in some ways.
I’d also like a spin off for Samantha please!
I loved this book and need it adapted to a movie please!
