I have read all of Lindsey's books now and am a big fan of her writing. This one just felt extra special and was such a wonderful read. I loved Phoebe - she was everything I'd want the FMC to be, and I also adored her relationship arcs with Suzanne, Bel, Ren and Myrna. The storyline with Myrna reminded me of my favourite parts of The Holiday, and I loved seeing their friendship blossom even with their age difference.

Finally, I loved the way that this almost felt like a love letter from Lindsey to LA, and I adored the addition of the Disneyland trip, with tidbits that any Disney adult would pick up.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Love Me Do is a very millennial, Taylor coded book. I enjoyed these things as a reader.
Loved the story concept; started off strong. It fell apart a little in the middle/end - I had questions that weren’t answered/fully explained by the time the book finished.

Love Me Do by Lindsey Kelk is a fun, fast read filled with interesting, enduring and funny characters. The main character comes to visit her sister in LA on a two week holiday from her home in England. From there , the book takes you down a path of interesting places in and around LA with characters you wish you could personally spend all day with. I really enjoyed this book and loved the stories of family , the ones you are born with and the ones you choose.

Another wonderful book by best selling author Lindsey Kelk. This book has such wonderful characters, a gorgeous setting that really made you feel like you were in the middle of LA, soaking up the sun, eating all the food and part of all the drama. I laughed and I smiled and I was swept away. Loved it.

Another brilliant book from Lindsey that made me gasp, laugh and cheer whilst reading.

Phoebe Chapman is leaving UK life behind (and all the issues that come tithe it) and is off to LA to spend two weeks with her sister Suzanne, a high flying executive who lives there. When Phoebe is abandoned by her sister on the first day of her holiday, she inadvertently ends up birdwatching with Ren, Suzanne’s neighbour. Suzanne’s VERY HOT neighbour. But how can she expect Ren to fall in love with her when there’s LA women like Bel, Suzanne’s personal trainer, around? So Phoebe sets off with some matchmaking,….. what could possibly go wrong?

I absolutely loved this book. It was very funny, relatable with just the right amount of seriousness in the background. Thank you Lindsey for a fabulous read and to NetGalley for allowing me to review it.

I am a huge fan of Lindsey Kelk's books and I legit screamed out loud when I was accepted for an arc so thank you Netgalley and the publisher.

Love me do is a classic rom com/holiday read that gives you vibes of the Holiday movie. Phoebe comes over to LA to spend time with her sister but that didn't really work out.

She meets a fantastic cast of characters who are absolutely amazing and make this story. Phoebe is someone who I totally relate to and someone who I want to be at the same time. At the same time the side characters were amazing but I would have liked a bit more Phoebe and Ren time to make their relationship a bit more believable.

This book has it all, humour, romance and deals with some pretty hard hitting stuff as well. This was definitely one of my top reads for this year.

Another perfect read from Lindsey Kelk!

This is your standard holiday romance story, with the most loveable characters and written in such a way that I'd love to see it on screen. I was concerned I wouldn't love this as much as On a Night Like This but I needn't have - Lindsey knows exactly what she's doing.

Pick this one up if you want easy reading romance, with characters you'd want to have over for a movie night... or book club!

This is a really easy relaxing read with lovely characters and a refreshing take on Los Angeles. Told very much in Lindsey Kelk’s fabulously humorous style this is a cute love story featuring Phoebe, a greetings card copywriter from the UK who hasn’t had a relationship in two years and coincidentally takes a trip to visit her sister in LA at the time her ex is due to get married. When her sister has to go to Maine for work Phoebe finds herself matchmaking her handsome neighbour and finds herself with an unlikely friend in one of the other neighbours. Whilst this is a very fun read it does have some depth too especially where Phoebe is concerned but overall it’s the sparkling uplifting read you would expect.

Writing: 5/5 | Plot: 4/5 | Ending: 4/5

SYNOPSIS

A two-week holiday in LA proves to be life-changing for mild-mannered and lovelorn Brit, Pheobe Chapman.

MY OPINION

When I received the approval email from NetGalley I STG I screamed in a pitch only dogs can hear. I absolutely loved The Christmas Wish and On a Night Like This so I was super pumped to see what Kelk whipped up next. There's always a bit of nervousness when you read your fave's newest book because it could be wildly trash like other new releases, but within 10% of Love Me Do, I knew that wasn't gonna be the case.

BTW FOLKS THIS IS INSTA-LOVE. Homegirl is on a two-week holiday and meets a guy. Flirts with said guy. And falls for said guy. You've been warned so I don't wanna hear it 😂 My only 'complaint' with this is there weren't enough scenes between Ren and Phoebe to warrant slanging around the l-word. Don't get me wrong, they definitely had chemistry, I would've just liked more one-on-one.

Out of the three books I've read from Kelk, this was the heaviest on the rom but the com was definitely the star of the show. From the jump I was kikiki-ing. Soooo many good jokes and lots of legit laugh-out-loud moments. I just love her sense of humour. I also liked how she touched on family issues, toxic relationships, and friendship. Reading a book by Kelk is like going to a restaurant that gives you two sides with your burger at no extra cost and doesn't charge you $4 for a Kraft Single slice of cheese. She's SERVING ok???

I enjoyed all the characters as well. Tbh Ren is my least fave 😂 Who needs him?? The dynamics between Phoebe and Bel, Phoebe and Suze, and Phoebe and Myrna can carry this book just fine. Each character is distinct and brings something to the table. Also... that Easter Egg!! Don't mind if I do!

Lastly, I would LOVE to see this as a movie. It really gives you the best of romcom and a chick flick. Instead of a Twilight TV series (and don't get me wrong, I'm a not-so-secret Twihard), let's get this one the big screen instead. Thank you Kelk for a totally bingeable summer read!

PROS AND CONS

Pros: legit funny, story flows nicely, great characters, good pace, serves up more than just romance

Cons: would've liked more scenes with Ren and Phoebe to really buy into the intensity of their feelings

Outstanding! I loved this book so much, I didn't want it to end. Myrna, Suzanne, Ren, Phoebe and Bel (she's a grower),'all of the characters were well written and relatable. I would highly recommend.

First of all I would just like to thank, NetGalley, Lindsey Kelk and HarperCollins for an ARC of “Love Me Do” in exchange for an honest review.

I think this is quite possibly one of my new all time favourite books. This is my first novel by Lindsey Kelk but it certainly won’t be my last.

This book is literal perfection. I have never read anything as equally funny and heartwarming as this. I loved every single character, they’re all beautiful in their own way.

Although this is a romance novel there is so much more to it than that. It explores the effects of past toxic relationships, learning to love yourself again and the lovingly interwoven sister relationship between Phoebe and Suzanne. As an extra bonus, it’s littered throughout with tons of wonderful references to popular films and Tv programmes, that any respectable film buff (like me) will definitely appreciate.

I don’t think I’ve ever related to a character more than I did with Phoebe, and at the same time she’s everything I hope to be.

The writing in this book is beautiful with an Emily Henry-esque quality to it. Honestly though I think it surpassed that, in my opinion anyway. This book made me laugh out loud and earn me disapproving looks from the people around me. The humour and witty banter is top quality and I honestly love how British it is, it made me smile.

This reminded me a bit of “The Holiday” and that’s one of the highest compliments I can bestow because it’s one of my favourite films.

This book made me fall in love with LA, the characters and the storyline. I finished this novel with the biggest smile on my face, honestly I felt like an idiot because I was just sat there grinning to myself.

Anyone who doesn’t read this is hugely missing out. I can’t wait to buy my physical copy when it comes out in June. This book is completely delightful and appeals to all the hopeful romantics out there, myself included.

Another belter from Lindsey Kelk - her writing goes from strength to strength.

Set in LA - the main protagonist goes to visit her sister after calling time on a relationship - it so happens to be the weekend that her ex is due to get married. Phoebe's sister ends up traveling to Seattle for work and Phoebe is left alone in her house. Attractive next-door neighbour - Ren meets Phoebe, Bel - sister's trainer happens to be in love with Ren, and as the story unfolds - its a bit Cyrano de Bergerac - Phoebe ends up playing matchmaker. Throw in an elderly movie star - the summer unfolds over two weeks.

A perfect, summer red - absolutely loved this book

I can’t get over how much I loved this book. Every character was incredible. The banter, the British nods to humour in an LA based plot. I honestly didn’t want it to end. It was everything. Easily one of my favourite reads of 2023 so far (and I’m on book 159)

Thank you netgalley for the ARC of this book

Oh Kelk! You've done it again! How do you make each book better than the one before?? You are a true master of your craft!

Phoebe, Suzanne, Bel, Ren, and Myrna are just the most amazing cast of characters. I absolutely want to climb inside my kindle and live in this book!! Oh, and I loved the OANLT cameo!!

There was nothing I didn't adore about this book, except that it ended. I can't wait to read it again. **chef's kiss**
