Carina and Giorgio are due to be married. The marriage will unite two families in a valley of winemakers.
However everything is not as rosy as it appears on the surface.
The groom is flying off to LA just before the wedding, allegedly for business, and there appears to be a threat to the life of the bride.
A bodyguard is hired for Carina much to her disgust, until she realises that actually she needs to feel safe.
Slowly the web of lies surrounding Giorgio's business interests begins to untangle and things begin to get dangerous with the involvement of the Camorra and the threat to Carina's life proves to be very real indeed.
I liked this book as it had an element of danger which hasn't been present in the previous books - although I did like them too.
This is very readable and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Secrets and intrigue in the Italian sunshine. Vineyard heiress Carina is about to marry her boyhood sweetheart, Giorgio, who is expected to help her save her beloved vineyard. But why has Carina's father employed a (very handsome) bodyguard to protect her? Echoes from World War II? Everyone has secrets here. A great story and the descriptions of the Italian countryside are glorious.

Secrets of the Villa Amore is the third book by author Carol Kirkwood and in some ways they are starting to feel a tad same-y. Handsome heir to lucrative family business located in gloriously hot and glamourous locale – check. Beautiful heiress to rival lucrative family business – check. Still, they do say if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…

I enjoyed this book. Engaging characters and a good storyline. All in all a perfect, escapist summer holiday read.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A lovely read. Told in 3 parts. Gosh the Italian descriptions were fab. Two Italian families who had history and a planned marriage. A very good looking body guard ( well you can imagine him) Lovely twists . You moved back and forward in time but it worked. You had old love reappearing. I couldn’t put it down. Carol Kirkwood is an ace author. Loved it . Read it . Perfect for a summer read .

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I enjoyed reading this lovely story.

It’s one of those stories that you want to continue reading to find out what happens next, but also, don’t want the story to end.

It’s very well written, the descriptions, setting were also lovely.

I highly recommend this book.

A lovely story, set across 3 different timeframes but mainly in 2005 when all the secrets come to a head. Engaging characters, well written, good storyline and really made me feel like I'd escaped this dreary weather to Italy. Another great read from Carol Kirkwood.

My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

What a lovely story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and ended up burning the midnight oil as I could not put it down. It is one of those books that you really want to read to the end, but when you have finished it you wish you had savoured the experience more. It is extremely well written with some lovely descriptions about the area, so much so, you could really imagine the scenery. This is the third book I have read by Carol Kirkwood and she certainly does not disappoint. What a talent.

Although it took me a while to get into the book due to the different time zones to start with I’m glad I continued as I loved the storyline. Carina is due to marry Giorgio but something isn’t quite right. The book starts in 1943 in Italy but then jumps to 2005. Great interesting characters set with the backdrop of the mafias. Thanks to Carol for another great book and your publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley.
