Thanks so much to Harper Collins and NetGalley for the arc of this Julie Soto book. This is the first Julie Soto book I have read, and it definitely won't be my last. I loved her writing style, it made me want to pick it up and continue on with this story. Fast paced, racey, good story, great characters and very engaging.

This was such an enjoyable, heartwarming read!

A wedding planner who doesn’t believe in marriage & forever is such an intriguing premise, and Julie Soto really delivered in this aspect. I thought Ama’s reasoning behind her beliefs was completely valid and I really appreciated how Soto doesn’t drastically change Ama for a typical happily ever after.

The second chance romance had me swooning and I felt so connected to both characters. Grumpy romantic-at-heart Elliot was so endearing despite his abrupt nature, and this paired delightfully with chatty headstrong Ama. It’s someone who often finds themselves cringing at steamy scenes, I thought these were handled well and not too much for my taste.

As a short aside, I loved the prevalence of flowers throughout this book and how they were woven beautifully into the romance.

I thought there was a nice balance between the wedding storyline and Ama & Elliot’s own complicated relationship, so much that it kept me hooked all the way to the end.

Overall great premise, writing, plot & ending; time to pick up Soto’s next book!

First of all, I should make it clear that I don't care about weddings. I am not interested. I'm at a point in my life where my friends' kids are getting married and you know, I'm happy for them or whatever. I generally avoid books where the protag is a wedding planner because I really can't be bothered to care about wedding details. HOWEVER I could tell immediately that in this case I was going to be fine with the wedding stuff.

There's a thing I like to think of as 'the romcom bounce' which is particularly effective in a first person, present tense novel, and this one has it in spades. Ama is a ball of energy, she thinks and talks and acts very quickly, she's funny and sparky and a very appealing protagonist. Elliott is delightful. A florist! Amazing. There's loads of fun detail about flowers and floral ... installations and even the wedding detail is fun. The chemistry between Ama and Elliot is hot, Ama's emotional issues are convincing. I loved it.

I loved this book! Characters were so well written and likeable. It’s a romance like I’ve never read before.

A sweet book detailing the ups and downs of the non relationship between AMA and elliot, a local florist who also happens to be an excellent florist.

A little too steamy 🔥 for my usual tastes but a good storyline that kept me entertained and engaged.

4.25 stars
This was such a sweet second chance romance.
I was really invested and there was the perfect amount of steam/spice.
I maybe would have liked a bit more of a focus on the present day, rather than past. But I still flew through this and really enjoyed it.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for what Julie Soto does next.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

As a 2024 bride this was such a cute novel! I loved the side characters and the wedding plot was so fun. I thought Elliot and Emma were very sweet. I did struggle with the time hopping at times but understood it’s importance to the story.

ERM HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FUNCTION LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN AFTER I'VE READ THIS?!

Forget Me Not was so fucking good, the way he had an amaryllis tattoo?!

The way he wouldn't accept her proposal?!

The way he always loved her?!

I am obsessed. Literally obsessed.

Loved this. Such a quick easy read that I read in one day. Grumpy x sunshine is one of my favourite tropes.
Will definitely read more by this author

This book is incredible!!
I love the second chance romance, but the aspect of ama running her own business and girl bossing everything to the max, gives all of us girls the confidence to do it ourselves!
It was written so beautifully that I will most definitely be getting the next book from Julie soto!

I read this in one sitting which speaks to how engaging it was but I never quite connected fully with either main character. I just wanted a little more understanding of them as individuals and as a couple. A bit more communication maybe? However, I did enjoy it and will be reading the author's next book (featuring Xander, the cellist, who made a cameo in this one).

This is a great debut novel. Steamy romance and unputdownable.
Grumpy sunshine and forced proximity… what’s not to love?!
Can’t wait to see what else is to come from this author!

Forget Me Not, by Julie Soto, was such a great read. It’s one of those contemporary romances that has a super sweet cover that hides within a much deeper (and spicier story).

I loved that this novel was centred around the wedding industry. I used to work for a wedding and party specialist company during the weekends and holidays from around 15-19 and I LOVED it. I loved being a small part of what helped to make couples days really special and so I absolutely vibed with what Ama, our FMC, was doing with her business.

Ama has landed the job of her dreams planning the wedding for a glamorous Instagram star and make up mogul. But the florist they’ve chosen is none other than Elliot Bloom – Ama’s ex, the man whose heart she broke two years ago. The man she hasn’t spoken to since. Can they get through the wedding without killing – or kissing – each other?

In Forget Me Not we are given a brilliant second chance romance, that is told through duel narratives and timelines where, from the most part we have Ama in the present and Elliot in the past. This worked so well in slowly unraveling Ama and Elliot’s history and in explaining why things are as they are between them.

Elliot is possibly THE grumpiest, and at times rudest MMC, I’ve read in a while but when the chips are down boy does he show up. It’s also evident throughout just how very much he cares for Ama. I was definitely rooting for them both and enjoyed the unique way that the timelines told their story.

This was a really great read that I’d definitely recommend.

Forget Me Not by Julie Soto

Ama is a wedding planner and gets the chance of a lifetime when an influencer wants to book her as a wedding planner. She accepts because this will be a huge chance for her, but there is a catch. The couple has already booked their florist. It’s Elliott, Amas ex and they haven’t spoken since their break up two years ago.

This is a second-chance romance between Ama and Elliott. They still work really well together and little by little we see sparks starting to fly.

I had a little hard time in the beginning but I kept going and ended up loving this book! This book has likable and unlikable characters, romance, spice and some great banter.

Thank you to HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction, HarperCollins and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.

This was a brilliant, sweet second-chance romance. Following wedding planner Ama, cynical after witnessing her mother's many marriages and divorces, gets the chance of a lifetime to plan a celebrity wedding. The only problem? The brides are set on her ex, Elliot, to be their florist. Soto effectively shows their relationship re/developing in the past and present. What I really loved about this was the cast of characters around the main couple which really made them believable and made me root for their relationship. One thing I would say is that sometimes I wished there was more focus on the present than the past but overall it was a very sweet, affecting and funny romance.

A heartbreaking story with great characters and two of my favorite tropes. I hope there will be more books by this author.

It's hard to like a second-chance romance when the central relationship is empty, both in the past and the present.

Ama and Elliot's past relationship was based on little more than lust, making it a little bit weird that their breakup two years ago still messes up both of them when they meet again.

As for their present relationship, we're supposed to believe that they did the necessary growing up to make it work this time around. Except there is barely any evidence of that.

A second-chance romance's main objective is to convince the reader that two people who previously broke up have tackled their issues and done the necessary growing to make a relationship work the second time around. And that just didn't happen with this story.
