I didn't enjoy this as much as I've enjoyed Coleman's previous work. It was slow, too much time spent in Linzi's head. Her tone, either when thinking or talking, was flat. I didn't like her all that much to be honest. Much was made of her role as Keeper of the Vines, and yes, the reader knows that Linzi is totally reliable in terms of taking care of the vines. But she wasn't very nice to Elliot. I'm not sure what he saw in her. As another reviewer said, he was far too nice for her. We reach the end of the book and still she only says she's attracted to him, no 'I love you'. I understand she'd been hurt in the past, but the way her character was written meant I couldn't empathise with her. I stuck with it to the end, but it's not a book I'd return to. The story is set in beautiful setting, with lovely, interesting characters.

Linzi’s past relationship didn’t go well and is more interested in looking after the vines than finding love.

So when her boss informs her that his grandson will now be handling the business, she’s a bit worried as to whether her job which she loves and her home is safe.

I loved this book and recommend it.

This is at least the fourth book that I have read by Lucy Coleman, and is up to her usual standards. The material is well researched and addresses topical issues, as well as romance and family conflicts. There is a short time frame for the action in the novel so it is possible for the author to focus on particular issues and not loose momentum.

This is a very readable novel with some interesting facts about ecology and viticulture. Recommended.

Loved this book. Linzi came to Green Valley Vineyard from Italy heartbroken. The owner Thomas has decided that he's retiring and his son Elliot is taking over. Lovely descriptions of the vines and the vineyard

A beautiful setting and interesting characters. Linzi has had her heart broken in the past and isn’t looking for romance. Her love is taking care of the vines and when the owner of Green Valley vineyard announces he is handing over to his grandson Linzi worries whether her job and home is under threat. An interesting read that fully deserves five stars

Linzi has been working at the Green Valley Vineyard for 9 years, when she is told the owner is retiring and his grandson will be taking over. Linzi is shocked and not very happen with this change. Elliott is nothing like his grandfather, can Linzi and Elliott work together, or will Linzi be moving on. Another good read by Lucy Coleman.

A story full of family. reconciliation and romance.
An uplifting tale that is both realistic and heartwarming as it unfolds. I enjoyed this book immensely.

This was a deep love story of vines and a man. I loved it. You learnt about a vine yard , lots of interesting characters, families are complicated. Just a fab read with a perfect ending.

There were too many characters and too much unnecessary detail. Sorry but this was nowhere near as enjoyable as some of this author’s previous books.
