The Wedding Confession by JJ. Knight is one of the most charming romantic comedies that I’ve encountered. Maid of Honor Ensley is kicked out of her best friend’s wedding, and bumps into her childhood crush Drew. They hilariously get caught in a downpour, take shelter in a run-down shack, and spend the moments reminiscing about childhood and sparking sexual chemistry.
Drew has one rule in his love life: absolutely no second dates. Ensley challenges him to three dates to see if he is capable of change and finding a connection. On the surface this is a typical meet-cute, grumpy/sunshine, and somewhat predictable rom-com. While being an easy read, I found that the characters had significant depth and emotional complexity that affected their actions. Multiple difficult topics are discussed in the book, while somehow never bringing the reader’s mood down.
What I loved:
•Amazing dialogue and banter
•Spice that felt realistic🌶🌶🌶
•Drew is a veterinarian and there are multiple animal characters that I found endearing.

I received an advanced reader's copy of The Wedding Confession (Wedding Meet Cute) by JJ Knight from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
JJ Knight was a new author to me and a nice find (will definitely look for other novels by this author).
Overall, I enjoyed this novel. The main characters - grumpy, commitment-adverse veterinarian Drew Daniels and determined optimist Ensley James - were an entertaining pair and secondary characters were well developed. I liked the characters’ banter, chemistry, and story arc. The novel was well written and the plot was engaging, if a bit predictable.

You can’t help but love characters in the book. You love them from the beginning. Drew is the best, especially since he’s a veterinarian and loves animals. I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it!

A Sweet and spicy five-star read. I had read this author previously and found them to be funny and smexy, but a little rushed. But this one had something extra to it. Ensley was just something extra, her love and strength for her family will astound you, and I know some people wont understand it, they will see it as unplausible, or unrealistic that she would be so willing to go without for her family, but you do what you can to see those you love survive. Drew was your typical grumpy vet, believe me I have one of those in my life, and it can be difficult it’s not all saving cute pussies like Sasha. It is a little predictable, but its also really sweet at times, and it does have some nice moments, this is the best story of this author I have come across and I look forward to more.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book! The Wedding Confession follows Ensley as she challenges Drew to a three date rule, who is known for only having one night stands. Written in dual POV, you get insight to both of the character's thoughts, which is a great experience for a romance novel. While the plot itself was good, a tried and true romance which did get my heart pumping, the writing fell flat for me. At times, the writing seemed almost juvenile, with abrupt dialogue, missing details, and 'growls' or 'grunts' coming from the male character. Overall, it was a fun and quick read but it probably won't leave a lasting impression on me.

When a wedding incident went wrong and you’re stuck with your childhood crush in a downpour, what more could go wrong? Or right! I felt as though this meet-cute held some hard topics where you can see the characters growth throughout the story. Sweet and more realistic occupations were thrown in which I appreciated. Felt like a spicy hometown reunion. Frivolous and fun while also having some depth.

The Wedding Confession is a totally delightful ron com book. Best man Drew and maid of honor Ensley have a history from childhood that suddenly springs back to life when they get kicked out of a wedding. The situations and dialogue keep the story moving at a nice, often humorous pace. It’s an easy fun read. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

It was a great read, I think Drew got on my nerves a lot lol but Ensley was so likeable! I love that we get the dual person point of view. I think it had a perfect mix of romance & comedy! highly recommend if your looking for a quick romcom book!!

Bridesmaid Ensley got ejected froma country club and along with her crush Drew. She challenged him to give her 3 dates and see where things go...
I love Ensley. Drew took me a little longer to like. I do like the ending. Really enjoy the humour and the fun in the story.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
