This short story was a heartwarming romantic ride. Elisabeth and John are reunited again after many years of separation when John asks her to work for him in his winery and hotel business. I highly recommend this book to other romance readers. I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.

A quick half hour read, great for on a train journey, but I felt the story could have been expanded in places to give the reader a more enjoyable story.

The Vintage of Love is the first book in the Burger Wine Estate series by Nina Porter. This series takes place at a vineyard in South Africa. This first book follows Elisabeth and John. They had a budding romance a few years earlier before John suddenly called it off and was with someone else. Elisabeth married and had children before she suddenly loses her job and her husband divorces her to be with his mistress. Elisabeth goes to South Africa to visit with her friend and reconnects with John. Can they rekindle their romance from many years ago?

This book/novella/whatever you want to call it because it was only 47 pages long left a lot to be desired. The plot of the story was really good, but the author crammed the whole story into just a few pages, which leaves the reader very unsatisfied. We don't get to see their lives before or even during their rekindling and just seemed very unbelievable because of the quickness of the story. This could have been really good based on the premise but it just needed a lot more details.

The Vintage of Love by Nina Potter is a feel-good novella. The main character, Elizabeth, returns to South Africa, after losing her job and getting divorced. She finds purpose and a lost love.

I really like second chance novels, and this book was satisfying in that regard. Additionally, descriptions of the wine region near Cape Town added interest.

The author was very successful in portraying a variety of relationships among friends and family members. There will be future books in this series, and I look forward to reading them.
