I have so much love for this series! The dual pov is so engaging with 2 strong characters and distinct voices, I was always sad to be leaving one sister whilst also excited to get back to her sister's story!

It is fast paced and fun, and a wonderful mix of fantasy, action, humour and romance. Twin Crowns is always one of my go to recommendations for readers moving into the YA genre, and will continue to be

Thank you for my eARC of this book. I adored twin crowns and was so excited to learn it was a series! I had some trepidation going into this book as I do with all follow ups but I had nothing to worry about! I can’t wait for more from this series!!

If it isn't evident enough, I LOVED Twin Crowns so much. It is one of the best books of all time for me. Just when I thought TC couldn't get better, Katie and Cat shocked us with Cursed Crowns. It's absolutely amazing, adventurous, mystical, and thrilling book.!
Cursed Crowns continues where Twin Crowns ended i.e. both Wren & Rose being crowned as the Queens' of Eana and Banba still being a captive by King Alarik.
To gain people's confidence, both rose and wren go on a royal tour to meet the people of Eana. But Wren had a different plan where she escapes off on a ship all the way to king Alarik's palace to rescue her grandmother leaving Rose alone on the royal tour. Little did they knew the trouble they both signed up for the second they left the palace.

I can't focus enough how obsessed I am with book 2. Ofcourse the writing is impeccable. Katie and Cat have a way of engaging the audience with their writing style & it's truly an art to have co-authors where the writing blends as one.
The new characters and the new fresh perspective of a few old characters was so interesting to see. I feel like a traitor for loving someone other than Tor (but oops! What can we do).!
The storyline is so gripping that I felt flipping chapter after chapter. I am not a kindle reader, but I enjoyed reading the e-arc because it was soooo good!
I loved how Shen's character grew in book 2 as he deserved much more. I did miss Tor in CC, but I think it would be super (and I mean SUPER) interesting to see him in the next book.
I felt book 1 was more political & relationship based, but book 2 is more magic & mystery based. Book 3 brings a lot of promise with the ending of cursed crowns and I can't seriously wait to read it!

A big thank you to @electricmonkeybooks @kwebberwanders @cat_doyle0 for the e-arc of #cursedcrowns

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So…everyone who has known me/been following me for a while knows how much I love Twin Crowns…well let me just say that CURSED CROWNS, book 2 of Twin Crowns, has literally just knocked my socks off! And made me so much more in love with this series!! 😍👑
Our gorgeous twins, Rose and Wren, both embark on some pretty wild journeys in this book and this takes us to new incredible places that we haven’t seen before and I loved exploring more of Eana and learning more about its history 😍 the world building is just so well written by both Katie and Cat and I feel like I’m actually there in the story with these characters!

Rose and Wren definitely had to step up to the plate this book because our lovely authors put them through a lot and I was on the edge of my seat pretty much the whole book! So much happens…so so much…anyone who’s read Twin Crowns…you’re not ready! And anyone who hasn’t…this is your sign to pick it up!! 🤯😍

We also met some very exciting new characters…including a certain king who has now become a new obsession of mine and I feel like I need one in my life 🥵❄️

Overall, this book just rocked my world. I always knew I was going to love it but it was just something else! So incredible!

Webber and Doyle have done it again!
This sequel was a triumph —a masterpiece of a pull back into the world with characters I couldn’t get enough of. The romance? The drama? The political intrigue? I loved every element and am impatiently awaiting the conclusion!
I MUST know how it all ends.

A fantastic follow up to the first book in the series, Cursed Crowns continues to manage two protagonists with distinct and interesting voices. There was a lot going on in this book, new characters, relationships and magic, that was all added seamlessly into the world we already knew. I really enjoyed it and i can't wait for the next book!

Cursed to make me want to reread this book again for the first time over and over again! The plot, the dips, the turns l, the unexpected and of course the amazing fluffy creature who is the star of the book in my mind...because who doesn't have an aninal who feels like a part of them at heart.

This story just like the first had me glued to the book from beginning until end. I had to stop after 3 chapters to work and every minute I was working the ebook was staring at me calling to me. The world building is beautiful as the characters come to life off the page with every sentence. Two voices, two larger than live characters into 1 amazing adventure that flows through your mind like water through in a stream.

Kat and Cat you have done it again and with that ending... Thats all I will say... Grrrr.... I am so happy (and not surprised) a third book will be coming our way.

This book was just as fantastic as the first. I was eagerly waiting the release of this book with all of the unanswered questions of the first but this magical adventure kept me hooked throughout

This was a great addition to the series!

I loved the setting, a wonderful cast of characters that I'm so attached to, and the pacing is great! I devoured this and I'm so excited to see where this ends. It's a fun ride and I had such a good time reading it. So much good banter too, which is always a favourite of mine :)

I recommend this to customers who want something magical and easy to digest.

I loved Twin Crowns and am pleased to say that this sequel did not disappoint. The story picks up where the last book finished, with the coronation of the twins. However, this is no 'Happily Ever After' as there are still factions within the kingdom who don't trust witches and want to be rid of them. Rose embarks on a tour of the kingdom, whilst Wren is determined to rescue their grandmother from Prince Alarik. There is plenty of action, and romance, as the sisters uncover more of the secrets of their ancestors. I cannot wait for the next installment.

I absolutely adored the first book in this series and as expected I was not let down by book 2! I love these characters, really, they're smart and funny and strong and I love a book with a strong female lead - and this series has two of them!! Worth every bit of hype!

I enjoyed the premise and the overall ideas driving the narrative in Twin Crowns, as well as the contrast between careful, responsible Rose and reckless, adrenaline-junkie Wren. What niggled me was the emphasis on the romantic thread within the story, which I felt took too much precedence in an adventure-packed plot where far more interesting things are going on. Twin Crowns finishes on a major cliff-hanger, so I was glad to have this offering.

Cursed Crowns is far more about the precarious situation both queens now find themselves in. Although they have now successfully claimed the throne for themselves, they are far from out of trouble. The rabid fear of witches and their magic hasn’t disappeared and there are those determined to take advantage of the situation.

Meanwhile, Wren is determined to go after her beloved grandmother. Despite everyone, including fierce Banba, warning her not to do so. This time around, as the next tranche of perilous escapades unfold, there is far less about smouldering looks being exchanged, which I appreciated. Particularly as both authors are capable of throwing sudden twists into this story that takes the danger up a notch. I certainly hadn’t expected some of the developments that took place. In amongst all the danger, what sets this one apart are the regular dollops of humour. And some of it proves to be very dark. Or perhaps I’m just a very bad person, but I did find the outcome of Wren’s spell to try and save her grandmother’s life both poignant and hilariously funny…

Rose’s storyline proves to be every bit as gripping as she desperately attempts to gain help for her troops against the incipient rebellion, where the population’s fear of magic is being manipulated in a bid for power. We’d heard a great deal about the Sunless Kingdom in the first book, so I was very happy to see this plotline explored – as well as the seers’ stronghold, which was another hilarious interlude. The comic relief stops this from becoming yet another grim scrabble for power within a fantasy setting – and instead turns it into something more quirky and unpredictable.

While I hadn’t been completely convinced by the rave reviews for Twin Crowns, I’m joining the chorus of approval for this second slice of the adventure. But whatever you do, don’t skip the first book. This one tips the reader straight into the middle of the action, where Twin Crowns leaves off – and while both authors are too deft to leave you floundering for too long, I think it would dent your enjoyment, which would be a shame. Highly recommended for fans of fantasy adventures featuring interesting magic with two contrasting protagonists. My only niggle is the inclusion of a possible love triangle – but hopefully that will be ironed out in the next instalment, which I’ll definitely be getting. While I obtained an arc of Cursed Crowns from the publishers via Netgalley, the opinions I have expressed are unbiased and my own.
9/10

Crikey! I need the next book so badly! It's always a bit nerve wracking to read the second book in a series when you've really enjoyed the first but I needn't have worried. The plot never dragged, the world building was beautiful and immense and old characters were seen in new ways (and not just 'seen' either!). I love this 'lust-positive', rollicking, female-centric fantasy series in so many ways. Please write faster Catherine and Katherine as your legions of fans are impatient!

What a brilliant second book in the series. This really does not disappoint as we follow the adventures of Rose and Wren , as they become twin queens of their country.

Just as much fun as the first book Twin Crowns. YA fantasy rom-com that is close as you can get to that feeling of falling in love with your first YA book. The magic system is easy to follow making it a good entry into fantasy. The characters and their relationships keep you invested throughout. I loved being back with Wren, Rose and Shen.

People always ask me if this book has spice and to that I say THIS IS A CHILDREN'S BOOK WHY ARE YOU LOOKING FOR SPICE HERE. The love stories are swoon-worthy for sure and features some popular tropes e.g. friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, only one bed, etc. But their story arcs are fleshed out and they have to deal with ever rising challenges.

I enjoyed that this book is a little darker. It takes the magic we learn about from the first book and shows us how that magic can be abused as well as the consequences of using it.

Another cliffhanger ending (AHH) but I am very much looking forward to book 3 and how the storylines will wrap up.

I absolutely adored Twin Crowns last year and Cursed Crowns did not disappoint! I love that this plot takes the sisters away from their thrones and into distant lands with new troubles on the horizon.

The dual narration is fantastic, each sister has a distinctive voice and personality. Rose is the more rule following refined queen to be, while Wren is up to her eyeballs in trouble of her own making this time around.

Whats really great is that while each sister has their own plot, they still are interconnected and never feel like two separate stories. I love that new characters are introduced and expounded upon, leaving readers with extra layers of world building, story, and characters establishment! This book is all about writing wrongs and seeing people in new and surprising ways.

This truly feels like an epic YA/NA fantasy rom com. You get those sillier moments of comedy that blend well with the romance aspects we loved from book one. The characters grow and regress in surprisingly authentic ways and I cannot wait to see where book 3 takes us! This series is simply a delight great for all ages and a wonderful sister story standout.

If you all know me like I think you do, you’ll all know how OBSESSED I was with Twin Crown, and I was so lucky to be a part of the street team for Twin Crown and now for Cursed Crown… I can’t wait for everyone to finally get their hands on the sequel because honestly it is well worth the wait! And tonight, Kellie is going to the Ball!

Following straight from the end of Twin Crown, we follow Wren and Rose, who had recently claimed their crown and not everyone is happy about witches sitting on Eana’s throne. Both Wren and Rose end up having their own adventures yet again to push, help and develop the future of Eana and finally have peace and unite everyone.

I loved how much Rose and Wren both developed in this story. Rose grew so much as the story developed, her relationship with Shen was gripping and I really was excited to see how they worked together with some twists and turns along the way. Wren was still just as wild and reckless as she was in Twin Crown, but I really enjoy reading her recklessness throughout the story, because even though some parts it didn’t seem like it was, it was really helping push through and get what she wants. I did get a bit sidetracked with the possible relationship she seemed to be building, I really didn’t think I was hoping it to happen, but I did. I was super conflicted!

I didn’t know how Kat and Cat continue to push both Rose and Wren, and they definitely got pushed in Cursed Crown, but I’ve fallen in love with the twins, the story and the world they live in even more. I want to jump into this book and live by Rose and Wren’s side!

The third book can not come quick enough!

Cursed Crowns is the fast paced, swoon-worthy sequel to one of my favourite YA reads last year - Twin Crowns.

Rose and Wren are queens of Eana, but their coronation is just about the only thing running smoothly. Banba is trapped in frozen Gevra, and a group of witch-hating rebels are stirring trouble closer to home. The girls, only recently reunited, are already divided - Wren is desperate to rescue their grandmother, while Rose thinks they should focus on problems closer to home.

With shifting desert kingdoms, ice palaces and a pair of magical mirrors, Cursed Crowns is packed full of amazing world building, with settings I'd really love to visit (but I'd also be happy with a Netflix adaptation so I can enjoy them on screen).

Wren and Rose are fantastic protagonists, each with their own strengths, flaws and romantic dilemmas. This novel introduced plenty of new characters too. Some, like the mermaid-loving Captain Marino, are brilliant, and others you might find yourself hoping the desert sands swallow back up so they stop causing problems!

As well as having it's own action-packed plot line, there's a lot of really interesting set up for book three, in Cursed Crowns. It looks like the next book will be packed with just as many moral dilemmas, magical conundrums and a potential love triangle. Wren and Rose are going to have some big decisions to make in book three, and I already can't wait to read it (and see how pretty the cover and Waterstones sprayed-edges are!)

Oh wow! The character growth and sisterly bond really grew in this one and did I adore it. It’s not often we get sibling love in YA fantasies, it’s definitely one of the many selling points for this series. The dual POV written by TWO authors also gives it such a well rounded out feel, I always feel like I’m getting the entire story thanks to getting it from two very different kinds of characters.

Cursed Crowns also introduced us to a new villain 🤫 and also had quite a few touching moments and scenes that gave me chills. It also introduced many new characters to love.. or despise. I felt like so much happened in this one, especially towards the end. Definitely an excellent story and didn’t suffer under the dreaded second book curse haha.

However, I like to say that going into this series as a whole.. it never feels “high stake” and comes off more as a cozy fantasy read than anything. Sure, things happen. But also things get resolved quickly. So if you’re into INTENSE moments, you may be let down a bit. But someone like me who doesn’t ALWAYS need high stakes and sometimes just needs a cozy cute fantasy to get through the week.. this series is PERFECT.

Also, I’m just as obsessed with Elske as I was in the first book 😂.
