Oh wow! The character growth and sisterly bond really grew in this one and did I adore it. It’s not often we get sibling love in YA fantasies, it’s definitely one of the many selling points for this series. The dual POV written by TWO authors also gives it such a well rounded out feel, I always feel like I’m getting the entire story thanks to getting it from two very different kinds of characters.

Cursed Crowns also introduced us to a new villain 🤫 and also had quite a few touching moments and scenes that gave me chills. It also introduced many new characters to love.. or despise. I felt like so much happened in this one, especially towards the end. Definitely an excellent story and didn’t suffer under the dreaded second book curse haha.

However, I like to say that going into this series as a whole.. it never feels “high stake” and comes off more as a cozy fantasy read than anything. Sure, things happen. But also things get resolved quickly. So if you’re into INTENSE moments, you may be let down a bit. But someone like me who doesn’t ALWAYS need high stakes and sometimes just needs a cozy cute fantasy to get through the week.. this series is PERFECT.

Also, I’m just as obsessed with Elske as I was in the first book 😂.

I got this book and only later realised it was a book two so I literally devoured both books through few sittings.

Same as the first book it was easy to read, the straightforward action made it easy to follow the storyline.

I loved the writing style and the world build, that with each new chapter I could feel like I’m in the story with Wren and Rose. I loved how authors developed their characters and their personalities.

It was a quick paced, easy to follow book.

I had read the first book and loved it so was very excited to get the follow up. Unfortunately this sequel was very hard to get into, it was rather dull to start and I really had to force myself to read for a long time. It did pick up but I found the male characters to be more irritating than interesting. And then I discovered that it’s a trilogy. Thanks to the punisher and NetGalley for an ARC.

Very well done sequel and loved the new characters introduced!! I enjoyed so much of these twins’ adventures and their determination to be amazing rulers! Tons more swoon worthy scenes that I couldn’t get enough of! I am aching for more just like I was for the first book! Love seeing these twins flourish even more and get out of their shells to become so powerful!

This was a very great second book which picks up after book one with both sisters. I really enjoyed the story and the new conflict the authors brought for their readers. I was hooked on the story as there was so much going on that I didn't want to miss a single bit of it. For this book, I was more character-driven as there was so much improvement made to both Rose and Wren. I was disappointed to see them separated for a long amount of time but there was much development. There were also twists and turns that hooked me onto the story. I still like how the authors keep the family element in the story. I won't leak too much information just in case you haven't read the book but let's say that this book didn't disappoint. This book is written from the dual perspectives of both sisters.

Rose is such an amazing character and currently my favorite. I love how she's the calm one and wants everything to be well for her people. Wren is also well-written and I loved how she improved in the story. Both characters had great character development and I know that there will be more in the next book. There are also many side characters in this book and I loved many of them. There is a special twist with Shen that was exciting but I won't spoil it for anyone here. The romance between Rose and Shen is growing strong as there were many obstacles they had to go through. There might be issues along the way but I feel as though they are endgame. Wren on the author's hand feels as though is not going to be the end game and I wouldn't be surprised. There is much potential for her romance side of the story as I believe something shocking will happen in the next book. I did wish the romance was descriptive but lacked compared to the first.

I really enjoyed the ending and I'm so excited for book three. This book was very well written but I really was hoping for improvement in the romance but overall a great book. Doyle and Webber are both such amazing authors who can write such an amazing fantasy book. Nothing lacks in their story when it comes to the storyline and the characters. They are one of the best duos the writing industry has seen. I do recommend this series as it's worth the read.

I am so happy to be back in this world with these characters that I absolutely adore. Carrying off shortly from where Twin Crowns ends, I quickly found myself immersed back in to the magical world Katherine Doyle and Katherine Webber has created. ⁣⁣

Now most of you will probably know that I'm always so scared of second book syndrome but this book quickly threw all my doubts out the window. I loved this book and I loved the journeys Wren and Rose went on in this one. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I feel like Rose's character developed so much in this one and I'm honestly here for it. I feel like we got to know more about her and I just love her even more now! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I really liked where Wren's journey took us and she went through so much in this one! I'm intrigued, excited and nervous to see where the next book takes us! ⁣⁣

Cursed Crowns is a fantastic sequel to Twin Crowns and I really recommend this series to anyone who loves fantasy romance! ⁣⁣

CURSED CROWNS is the second thrilling adventure of these witch-queens as they attempt to bring peace to a country that's struggling to integrate witches into daily life and rescue their grandmother.

I really liked how the witches were not helping matters when it came to integration. Are there fearmongerers preying off ordinary people? Yes. Are the witches all playing nice and not taking out their own resentment at hiding? No. It made it a much larger problem for Rose to face, and played very nicely into the ending.

Rose heads off into the desert with Shen on a quest to find a missing kingdom of warrior witches - and stumbles across Kai, Shen's perpetually shirtless cousin. He was my favourite of the new characters, very good at riling Shen up but also with a very dark core that made me very apprehensive about what he was going to do.

Going to Gevra was one of the things I was most looking forward to, a whole new country and a snowy one at that. Plus its royals are terrifying (and very good at scene stealing.) I thoroughly enjoyed being across the sea in this book. The sea shanty scene was very touching thought, hopeful in the midst of Wren's anger and despair.

I was not expecting Wren's romantic plot line to go where it did, but I am very much intrigued by how it's going to ultimately end. It was unexpected but a lot of fun to see it play out across the book. The snowstorm scene was probably the most dramatically swoony moment in the story.

I'm so excited that there's going to be another book, and it looks like it's going to dive into the history of what happened at the sundering of magic because that has consequences.

Cursed Crowns was one of my most anticipated sequels and it did not disappoint. What a rollercoaster! It made me smile, it made me emotional, it made me STRESSED AS HELL and the ride was worth it. Really my only complaint is that there wasn’t enough Tor in it (ahhh Tor *swoon*)

The character development was fantastic and I really enjoyed watching Rose and Wren develop as characters, as witches and as Queens. There were new characters introduced in this sequel and I fell in love with them too. The plot was fast paced and hard to predict and as always, Cat and Katie’s writing was perfect.

Cursed Crowns is a thrilling tale of sisterhood, magic and adventure, with complex characters and a richly imagined world making it a must-read for fans of young adult fantasy.

Maybe it's just because I'm (mumble) years old, but I'm starting to get tired of horrifically evil villains, who turn out to have an excuse so it's fine. Never mind they killed lots of people, they looked soulfully at the heroine so we're all cool! That's not in any way a comment on this book specifically, the characters here are complex and interesting as they often are in the kind of story I'm moaning about, but I am noticing the trend more and more. There are very few villains allowed to be villains any more.

But! Let's get a bit more specific about this one.

The first title in this series was a huge hit last year, and I think this one is going to do just as well. Wren and Rose manage to get themselves separated fairly early on (::cough::Wren::cough) and so the book splits into two storylines, just like the previous one. We meet some new characters and visit some new, beautifully described locations. Like the previous book, this is a cliffhanger, but most of the characters have ended up in relatively good spots, so it's not too bad.

I'm looking forward to the third (last?) volume about this next year, I'm sure it'll be just as exciting as this one!

𝐓𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 was one of my favorites reads of 2022 and since I read it, I can’t get the story or it’s characters out of my mind. 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 was my most anticipated read of the year and I can finally say it was an incredible journey, the perfect continuation to this magical story.

𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 is a beautiful, action packed sequel that will leave you breathless and wanting for more. One aspect I absolutely loved was the expansion of the world-building! The new settings brought a new light and richness to the story that complemented perfectly to the growth of our favorite characters!

As for our girls, Rose and Wren remain incredible! I adore their constantly growing relationship and how their twins dynamic is explored in this installment! Their biggest test is yet to come and I cannot wait to see how they go through it together!

Romance? Who doesn’t like romance? The relationship between Rose/Shen was one of my favorite aspects of TC and I am so happy to see it explored in CC. Their relationship is tested throughout this book, obstacles are place in front of them and I absolutely adored seeing that as it gives them more depth and time to grow, both individually and as a pair. As for Wren, I will say I was incredibly surprised to see the direction the authors decided to go for her. Let’s say the path isn’t as clear as the end of the previous book made it look and I am so on board for the new horizons they opened up for her!

This sequel completely surpassed all my expectations and left me needing the third book ASAP! If you loved the first one definitely make sure to check out this exhilarating sequel, coming out April 27th in the UK and May 9th in the US!

Thank you to the authors, publisher, and NetGalley for providing me an e-arc as a member of the street team.

A fun and relatively involving story but I'd have liked a bit more world building. The characters were a bit two-dimensional. Maybe if I'd read the first book by the authors I'd have a more fleshed-out feel for the characters but they felt more composite than unique.

I’m sorry but this was thoroughly ridiculous😭

I tolerated some things in the first book because I thought things would get better in the next book but now it’s obvious that this just the “style” the author wanted to use. I’ve seen that people loving this series so I’m probably just not the right audience for this series.

I feel that the attempt to combine rom-com and high fantasy didn’t work well for this book. The characters mostly interact by joking around and being dramatic, that makes the whole vibes felt unserious.

Not to mention the shallow characterization. For example. One moment Shen was all over Rose but suddenly he doubted her as if they never spent each waking moment pining for each other. The Gevran sibling who were described to be ruthless and vile suddenly were welcoming and kind. And Wren, oh goodness I hate her so much she’s just being reckless every damn time like pls be serious for once😩😩😩

Also the romances weren't appealing AT ALL please just shift the genre into new adult and be done with the flirting and pining for God’s sake. I won’t be reading the next book that’s for damn sure.

Absolute YA fantasy excellence on every level, and from two UKYA authors - even better! A sensational follow up that I will be recommending to everyone!

True YA Fantasy excellence. Cat and Katie really have outdone themselves with this oustanding sequel. Without spoiling too much, one of my favourite aspects of the book was how the sisters were separated in their own plotlines but due to some... secret magic... were never truly alone and could help eachother in their own peril. The ending was so satisfying and sets up the third book perfectly. But is it bad that I want more of the horrible, ice King Alarik. Cannot wait for the next one.

4.5 stars!

This book was as magical as the first (literally and figuratively). We got mystery, romance, magic and family all rolled into one. Rose and Wren are brilliant, strong characters that won't take no for an answer and find themselves far away from each other and their castle, trying to fix their problems.

I've got to say, I always enjoy Wren's POV more than Rose's. I loved her adventure in the icy north and LOOOVED seeing Tor again. The new love interest caught me off guard, but I don't think I'm unhappy about it because they're also quite mysterious.

Rose's adventure to the Sunkissed Kingdom was also fun but not quite as thrilling. I felt that her story was a little more predictable and of course her issue with marrying someone noble is solved. Her petulance put me off though when she was mad that Shen didn’t focus his whole life around her anymore.

Also the story only really picked up at 50%. Which I understand that it had to build up to that moment but felt a little too long a wait for me to be like- ahhh here we go.

Anyways, still absolutely love the characters and the twist we got in the end. Wren going down the route she chose will definitely be interesting for the next book. Can’t wait to see what happens!!

A worthy sequel that is similar to Throne of Glass but with humour & aspects of The Princess Switch. More world building, some heartbreaking moments & lots of laughs. I loved being back in Eana!

I was lucky to get an arc for Cursed Crowns!

They did it again! I loved this book so much.
What I really liked about Cursed Crowns is that we see more of the world and meet new characters.
Wren and Rose are mostly separated in the story, but I didn’t mind at all, because we had more stories and interactions between different characters.
That doesn’t mean I don’t like Wren and Rose together, I just loved how they went their own way and had their own storyline in this book.

Now let’s talk about the ships. I still love Shen and Rose together, But I’m a little conflicted about Wren haha. I don’t know who she should be with!! I Don’t want to spoil anything, but I adored Alarik and Wren toward the end. Their interactions developed through the story and I’m obsessed. But I still love Tor too, so aaah.
The world-building was great and I loved that something interesting was always happening.
I was never bored and wanted to keep reading.
I’m also glad I chose team frozen court (King Alarik ;))

Overall, I enjoyed Cursed Crowns and I can’t wait for book 3!!!

Thank you Electronic Monkey, Farshore and NetGalley for the arc of Cursed Crowns by in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I was absolutely delighted to received the arc for Cursed Crowns after having read the first book in the series, and hoped that it would be as much of a fun escapade as the first. I was not disappointed.

Wren and Rose are now the Queens of Eana but, not all is well in their land as the Arrows arise to challenge the return of witches and Magic to their land. In addition the consequences of Wren’s actions in the first book are coming back to haunt them, and of course there are new adventures and challenges to face…nothing worth having comes easily.

I absolutely loved revisiting and gaining new perspectives on both the key protagonists and supporting characters from the first book, and the return to the world of the kingdom of Eana and the surrounding kingdoms was well-built on the foundations of the first book.

There is no question that this is a 2nd book in the trilogy but, it definitely doesn’t disappoint and delivers action, love, loss and new challenges with aplomb! A fabulous read that definitely transports you!

I am not okay!!!

What a follow up. I loved getting to see more of Eana, especially seeing the twins explore it in different ways. Rose and Wren grew beautifully as main characters and I loved both of their stories.

I’m sure I’ll collect my thoughts for a more detailed review at some point but for now, READ THIS BOOK!
