This fun, nonfiction factoid book is perfect for any kid who loves animals, science, and/or learning. It’s perfect for elementary school aged kids and keeps their attention pretty well. Even as an adult, I learned new things about beavers I never knew.
The illustrations of this book are very attractive and well done. Each page is filled with little interesting details. Sometimes, it is hard to tell which text box to read first. I do wish that when the frogs that are laying the eggs say, "quack" the author had a note to explain this. Most children will say that a duck says quack, so this might be confusing. Overall, this is an excellent book and I plan on purchasing it for my library.
This wonderfully informative book on Beavers is the perfect book for any nature loving child.
'What Goes On Inside A Beaver Pond' educates the reader on how beavers build dams, homes and relationships, discussing their family dynamics and building skills etc.
I really loved the added highlights of other wetland species living alongside the beavers, showing just how important our wetlands are for so many wonderful species.
A fantastically educational book filled with gorgeous wildlife illustrations - I highly recommend
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. An excellent view of what all happens in a beaver pond.
This is a great factual book about beavers. It goes into detail on behaviours, foods, habitats, anatomy and more. It would be great for topic work. It also relays what happens during the different seasons. It’s set up in a fun way with words wrapping around the pictures which draws the eye to each picture.
Loved this book! Adding it to my children’s wishlist. I loved the illustrations. There was lots of information about beavers in small bits to keep children interested. The book included small facts about other wetland and forest animals too. A fantastic book to get for your little science/animal lovers.
Thank you, Storey Publishing, for the advance reading copy.
This is such a comprehensive illustrated account of how beavers live, how they divide their community into different groups, their unique traits and characteristics on how they survive.
The content is just perfect and provides enough information.
Perfect for ages 8 to 10. The book is a pure delight.
