Triceratops and Bottoms is an absolutely wild book of short stories by Lola Faust that follow our main character Erin about 100 years into the future. Eager to get the opportunity to explore every hedonistic fantasy, she jumps at the chance to test time travel belts and explore the Jurassic period.
These stories played out exactly as expected and were certainly entertaining. I appreciated the fact that the Dinosaurs appeared sentient and that consent was seemingly granted(eagerly and almost lovingly almost) before every encounter.

There is something for everyone and this genre proved it. I was not aware of dinosaur and human erotica. The sexy scenes were very well written and the imagery the words put into your head can be quite intense. I am a firm believer of non kink shaming as long as consenting adults are involved.
Thank you to Lola Faust, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Triceratops and Bottoms is already out and ready to read.
Triceratops and Bottoms is a very short erotic novella, and yes it is about exactly what it sounds like it is about. Erin, a women who lives in a futuristic world where they have developed the tech for time travel. Erin has had many sexual encounters with women, men and different beings. She is getting bored though and feels like she has done it all. So when she get the chance to travel back to the prehistoric times she jumps right into the past. She actually has the chance to jump to the past multiple times, and each time she experiences a sensual encounter with a different type of dinosaur. Honestly I went into this book with very little expectations and I have to say it was exactly what I thought it was going to be. It was not a hard hitting book, but it was a fun short read that held no scientific fact. If you are looking for a short kind of wonky erotica, Triceratops and Bottoms is the novella for you.
yeah unfortunately this one was an instant DNF. filled with cringey writing, typos, and stilted language. the summary seemed funny enough to get my attention but execution was not good
So I flipped through this for "science" because why not? Blue alien dicks became a huge thing so maybe dinosaur erotica is next? NO! I feel dirty, like everyone knows what I just did and they're judging me. I need to cleanse my sins!!
The golden trifecta. Back to the future meets Jurassic park meets fifty shades of grey. I felt really connected to the characters and I could really see Ceras development throughout the book. Truly a refreshing read.
I couldn't finish the first chapter of this. I had a lot of trouble with the grammar. I'm sorry, this was a DNF for me.
This was… wow. WILD!
I guess it’s exactly what you expect from the blurb, but I was hoping for more… story?? More triceratops less other random Dino’s.
After the first part the book just kind of devolved.
This was a wild read. The format and editing could use some work. The missing letters in some words and the title being tossed in there (I suppose, before every chapter.) pulled me out of the story a few times. However, this story was… Hum. Gosh, I dont know. Crazy! I’m still shocked I finished it.
Now for the stories plot and character growth. I guess you can say, other than the MC wanting to do nothing but the chitty chitty bang bang with every creature she meets, there isn’t any. She just seems to wonder around searching for her next “adventure.”And that doesn’t matter if it’s an animal a thousand times her size or that it lives in the ocean or flies.
In the end, I would rather there be a reunion instead of introducing the second character. To me it takes away from the story. That’s just my two cents.
The review is solely mine and no one else’s.
An unusual read for me, there was only a tiny bit of spice and the rest seemed glossed over. The whole scenario was definitely unique…and only an ok read.
No. Just....no.
TW: literally this whole book.
Since there's no description, this is what's in the book: 6 stories about 1 weird female named Erin in the year 2122 who has sex with lots of different....men? beings? and is bored with her life because she's "done everything" (literally...lol). She hears about a time machine finally being invented so she uses it to go back to the Jurassic period and sleep with different dinos. Lola Faust definitely has an addiction to erect nipples because it's mentioned no less than 10,000 times in this book. Also, at the beginning of story #4 we find out she's been banned from time travel even though she's the only willing person to travel. Apparently all her encounters get recorded....so there's that. But that's okay because she finds Kim, a rich creepo who's been watching all her encounters and wants to go on one with her. Cue story #5...
In this book, we have:
1. Triceratops and Bottoms
2. My Boyfriend is a Plesiosaur
3. Mile High Pterodactyl Club
4. A Carnotaurus for Christmas
5. My Sexy Supersaurus
6. Bonus: Tyrannosaurus Sext
"Like love at first sight, except with an ancient creature." Mhm, sure.
"The plesiosaur was intelligent enough to get aroused by her beautiful, sexy body - and she knew that." She's quite humble, as you can tell.
Cue weird sexy dinos.
Don't read this. It will haunt you forever and make you want to start burning books like the dark ages.

I was really hoping for something a little deeper here rather than just a horny girl traveling through time to hook up with dinosaurs. This is obviously not my usual type of read and at least the title is punny! It also needs a ton of editing work and basic formatting issues made it difficult for me to keep going.
It’s a bit early to declare this is the worst thing I’ve read this year. But here’s hoping it is. I can get behind some weird shit but I really wanted the dinosaurs to have the vocal translator box from the first book maybe it wouldn’t have made the sex as sketchy and cringe?
This book was EXACTLY what you think it is. That’s is with absolute certainty. I knew what I was getting into so I couldn’t not feign surprise. My curiosity got the better of me and I just had to read this novella. Overall, I wasn’t mad at it. I don’t know if this is consistent with other people’s devices, but the format came out really weird and the title was inserted into the first sentence of every page also any words that had double “ll’s” only had one “l” (all = al, fall= fal, etc).
Aside from that I’d be interested in reading more futuristic time travel stories this author cooks up.
I'm sorry to say that this was the worst book I've ever read. I really hate to be so negative but this book needs a ton of work to even be READ-ABLE.
•There is a formatting issue with the book. The title and page number (I'm guessing?) show up in the middle of sentences. It's so difficult to read when the sentence is interrupted on every single page. "She slowly pulls off her blouse 144 Triceratops and Bottoms and tosses it onto the floor" this is an example of how the title interrupts the sentence.
•The spelling... is atrocious. I don't know why but there are a ton of words with double letters that are missing the second letter. As well as sentences like: "A slight chil rushed up her spin when her body made contact" (that is a direct quote copied from the book.) CHILL and SPINE are spelled incorrectly.
•The last major flaw... Unfortunately... Is that the plot is absolutely ridiculous. I love monster romances, alien romances and shifter romances. But straight up dinosaurs that cannot speak or consent just felt weird. Erin felt a little predatory (ironic) almost like she was forcing these ANIMALS into sexual favors? Idk felt very dub-con to me, empathetic eyes or not. The time travel felt so goofy and unnecessary. I just wish this had been more in line with Pamela Bones' Erotic Excavations.
Overall this was a huge flop. I'm so sorry Lola Faust. But you need to go back to the writing board for this one and spend some more time on it.
Pros: The cover and title are attention grabbing! Although I wouldn't recommend the actual book to my book club, I think we could have a great conversation about the genre.
Cons: This book was not well written and was full of errors and typos.
This is my first review of a romance/erotica book on NetGalley. Now I’ve read my fair share of erotica books. Lots of different types, kinks, etc. The stories had many grammatical errors and wasn’t one of the best erotica I’ve read before, as in not arousing or sensual in my opinion. Not the worst either. I just reviewed Triceratops and Bottoms by Lola Faust. #TriceratopsandBottoms #NetGalley
I’m not going to lie. I saw this on a bunch of posts, and I wanted to see what the hype was about. This is not my cup of tea, but no hate if it is yours. The document was really hard because it had a lot of spelling errors. I think that before this is published, it needs some heavy editing for grammatical errors, etc. The stories themselves were ok. This is not my trope. Got that now.. but I think that if the story included something that wasn’t a dinosaur, I would’ve felt it was super hot. Therefore, I think that if dinosaur loving is your thing,, this will be a hot set of stories for you. I think this is aimed towards a very niche market, and I suspect that if the spelling and grammar is cleaned up some, this will hit that market very well, not some thing I would read normally, nor do I think that I will read more of it, but I think the audiences that ir aimed at was not me.
Well....this was exactly what I thought it would be and exactly NOT what I thought it would be all rolled into one. Aside from the never ending formatting and grammatical and spelling errors, there is really no true plot. I expected this to be one novella but it turned out to be a bunch of short stories featuring the same character and outcome; Erin traveling back in time to get get herself off with a dinosaur. I will say, the first short story was the best out of all of them and the author should have kept going with it, if you ask me. Two stars for being exactly what I figured it would be, dinosaur porn, and two stars due to all the unnecessary errors. I hope the author fixes these and people read reviews before purchasing this set of stories.
It's hard to look away from a train wreck AND curiosity killed the cat. Just... why? Lol... just nope... so many errors... grammatically, cohesiveness and everything else ...
