This is a helpful book which doesn't get you bigger down in too much technical detail, however, It fell a bit flat to me.

Now, let me tell you about the mastermind behind this enlightening collection. It's none other than Caryl Westmore, the author and host of the "Write the Book Inside You" podcast. She's also the world's first Emotional Freedom Tapping Book Coach. For months, she engaged in insightful conversations with these luminaries to distill their life-changing insights. The result? A guide to transforming your writing life, making it more productive, more profitable, and, perhaps most importantly, healthier and happier.

This is the perfect book for the writer who's beyond the usual how-to, introductory book for beginners, treating us to great insights and inspirations. It was a smooth read (I took lots of notes!) and I'm definitely going to read it again. My favorite writing inspirational books give me a boost each time I visit with them, even for a chapter. Thsi is definitely one of those books that keeps on giving.

A gem!

This was such a helpful book in identifying the roadblocks and obstacles in writing, but also finding solutions to the various reasons writers stop writing!

This book helped me get back into a consistent rhythm of writing and find strategies to help me when I begin to struggle.

A must read for aspiring and established writers.

I am reviewing a copy of the Inner Path of Writing through Books Go Social and Netgalley:

Suppose you were told there is a softer, yet equally effective, approach to freeing your Inner Writer which does not involve "diligently fighting creative battles with a tricky foe"?

You will find a better way in this book through the contributions of world-class authors.

There is a wealth of wisdom shared by publishers, authors, and transformational experts on how to overcome your resistance and shine your brilliance for a successful writing career that you enjoy.

A number of prominent influencers such as Dr Joe Vitale, Marc Allen, Brandon Bays, Mark Leslie Lefebvre, Michael La Ronn, and Julie Broad (among others) have provided valuable tools and tactics regarding:

Having a productive and prosperous environment
Achieving results
The process of overcoming depression
How to overcome writer's block
Burnout prevention
Maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health
Maintaining a persistent attitude
Creating books that are not "boring"
Taking advantage of your energy and genius

This book was developed by Caryl Westmore, author and host of Write the Book Inside You podcast, and first-ever Emotional Freedom Tapping Book Coach, who interviewed the contributors for several months in order to distill their valuable insights on how to change your life to write more productively and profitably as well as remain healthy and happy at the same time.

Make sure that you do not waste another precious moment of your life fighting the dreaded Ogre Resistance or the monsters of fear, doubt, and insecurity.

I give The Inner Path of Writing four out of five stars!

I found the approach and content of this book different from most books for writers on writing.
Each chapter draws on some of the lessons from leaders across various platforms and it's not just on how to write, but also how to think, take good care of your health and I found this more like a long term book to have to always refer to when going through various processes of writing.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

The Inner Path of Writing, Make Love not War to the Writer Within is a self help book for writers of all levels and genres. Established writers and publishers share their wisdom on variety of subjects and provide tips and tricks for budding writing. It is all at a very high level and doesn't really cover any subject in depth. It is a compilation book so you don't really get a feel for the author herself. Maybe less contributions and more in depth advice might have been a bit more useful. But overall a good book.

What a wonderful book that provides loads of information to not only start writing but to overcome writers block as well.

The information contained in this book will have you tabbing pages to return to later. Filled with not only tips and tricks, the author has laid out a clear path for you to think about your daily living and how that affects your writing.

I loved the “golden nugget” sections as well. These really are valuable tidbits meant to leave you thinking about it well after you’re done reading it. It’s meant to help change a thought process, and it really helps!

If you are like so many people, you feel you want to write a book. Perhaps you've put it off forever. Perhaps you've started but now feel blocked. Westmore provides lots of valuable information about habits, useful tools, mindsets, and more to persevere in writing. This book is more of a psychological approach to be free of whatever is keeping you from writing. She has tips from a number of successful authors. Seeing writer's block as founded in past trauma and memories, she includes a number of strategies from people who have designed successful methods in overcoming them. She includes her own techniques, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Tapping and Matrix Reimprinting. She also has a section on physical well-being.

One insight I particularly appreciated is the distinction between inner and outer success. Outer success may includes actually publishing and selling your book. Inner success, however, is that feeling of being inspired, of writing with pleasure and passion. It is feeling you are in a satisfying calling.

Westmore has collected the information from many sources, providing key points in nuggets of practical suggestions. I think there is something for everyone in this book. If you don't like one of the ideas, there are many more from which to draw practical insight. There are links to free resources in the ebook I read, including a free book and explanatory videos.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

If you are a writer and feel inspired by Oprah, EFT, Miracle mornings, tarot, or Dr. Joe Vitale, then this is the perfectly niched down book for you!

Happy pub day Caryl Westmore!

The Inner Path of Writing, Making Love not War to the Writer Within by Caryl Westmore does a wonderful job curating gems of writing information from previous interviews for this book. Every page you turn to shares advice from self helps most popular and well known creative minds.

There are three parts in the book:
1) Winning success tactics, writing, publishing, marketing,
2) From stuck to stoked liberating the writer within, and
3) Health habits and self care staying the course long-term.

Within each part, lives multiple chapters. Each belongs to a different interviewee and ends with "Golden Nuggets" from them that summarizes the most powerful advice they offer in practical steps.

Having all of this carefully handpicked and sorted by theme is so helpful. I can go straight to the section I need support in, get a boost with their advice, and come back to it whenever I need.

This book is much more than a treasure trove of tips and support for authors, rather a manual on how to live your most present, creative, and mindful life. This is about putting in the work, and consistently choosing a writer's life.

I put a lot of things into immediate action like taking inspired action as quickly as possible with of the natural boost you get from the "excited energy" of a new idea, rewriting every goal as an affirmation, and befriending your inner monster. That last one is so cute! Julie Broad says to "befriend your inner monster and know what triggers them." I imagine my imposter syndrome monster covered in orange fuzz and has one eyeball. When she's in the way of my writing I can imagine scooping her up and placing her on my shoulder to watch me write.

New Age methods are offered throughout the book with the goal of clearing the way for your best writing self. It's a very holistic view at the writer journey with lots of techniques to try. A helpful resource with loads of tips to try. Thank you!!

I felt this book tried to do too much and at times it felt a bit pandering.; every chapter it advertises the website and profile of someone whose work is included in the book. I feel it should stick more to strictly writing and writing tactics instead of trying to blend other subjects into writing. Every chapter we are introduced to someone's writing style which felt a bit jumbled and dizzying. I could hardly feel the coherent thoughts of the author. Every chapter someone new. It is a collection of thoughts and tips from various writers.

Most of the book is a collaboration of other writers' work presented in this book; thus, it is hard to get an accurate feel of the author's writing style like in The Elements of Style by Willian Strunk White. I prefer to have one writer giving tips and valuable information with an occasional chapters or text of other authors, but not the majority of the book. For some readers and writers, they will appreciate the diversity, but for me it felt mumbled, and I did not have trust in everyone's writing style and tips. There were some good tips, and I do feel the reader can get some useful information from this book, but I wish the author would have included more of his own thoughts and tips instead of relying on family and friends to make up the majority of the book. However, I do think it is still a good reference point.

This was a wonderful and valuable book on the craft of writing. I learned new skills to add to my toolbox and it also inspired me to push onwards with the novel I’m working on. I also loved the nuggets of wisdom from other writers, reassuring me that I’m not alone in my journey. Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and author for a chance to read and review this book.

I was offered this book as an ARC via NetGalley and was intrigued as I am currently studying a creative writing module. This book pretty much does what it says on the cover, it gives you short snappy summaries of the advice of a wide range of authors. I liked that links were included to the writers themselves as it enables the reader to go away and read the full text of the authors that resonated the best. This book felt a little like brief notes you make from lectures so don't expect too much depth but it is a good way to get a broad perspective of the different ways that both fiction and non-fiction writers approach their craft.

I definitely took a few bits of practical advice from this that I want to put into practice, like the idea to use Scrivener on your phone so you can write anywhere. However, a lot of the book came across as an advertisement for each author's books, podcasts, websites, what have you. This is a relatively short book yet there are interviews of 25 different professionals, so there is not much opportunity to go into depth on any one topic. So, you end up with "golden nuggets" like "improve sleep protocols" and "know your intended audience" with only a few lines of explanation. I found the third section which went into detail about intermittent fasting to be a bit out of place.

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for the opportunity to access this free e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately on this occasion this book wasn't for me personally. Having read the blurb, I was not expecting the short-form interviews with various contributors. I found these too shallow as I was hoping for something more in depth and long-form, so for my personal preferences I would have preferred if there had been less contributors with more to say, or if more time was taken to explore their points and insights. I am grateful to have had the chance to read this book.
