A summer beach read, a lovely Greek island, villa and pool house, squabbling families, love and siblings. An easy read but not one to remember afterwards.

I was pleasantly surprised by Summer Wedding, the latest novel by Sarah Morgan; I confess to have made some assumptions earlier on in the book — all of which delightfully turned out to be wrong (and then some!).

In Summer Wedding, we meet bestselling author Catherine Swift, who is preparing for her fourth wedding on the beautiful Greek island of Corfu. Her daughters — each from a different marriage — are due to attend, despite ongoing family tension between the three of them. Adeline, the eldest, is fresh out of a passionless relationship, and needing some time to herself to re-assess her life choices. Cassie, the youngest — and allegedly the reason why the marriage between Adeline’s father and Catherine failed — is hopeful that recent opportunities are leading her to a life she has always dreamed about. The two sisters are as different as chalk and cheese, both in terms of life and in terms of their views regarding their mother’s fourth marriage: one excited, the other less so. Once they both arrive on Corfu, those tensions escalate — and then comes Catherine’s bombshell…

As I say, I made assumptions about where this book was going and what would happen to each character, and for this I humbly apologise to the author, because once again Morgan weaves a beautiful and heartfelt story spanning generations and relationships. I love how Morgan brings her characters to life and really connected with Cassie in particular. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see how her arc would end, and I was not disappointed. Adeline, as well, had a beautiful arc and I felt soaked by the sun and sea-spray as she rediscovered herself. And Catherine’s own arc was ultimately redemptive and warm-hearted.

Corfu was a beautiful setting and I could really feel myself there, alongside this family trying to acknowledge and repair the relationships between mother and daughters, and haalf-sister and half-sister. The supporting case are also well-rounded and totally at home upon the Greek island.

All in all, this was a great summer read and one I highly recommend for a lazy afternoon, either on the beach or at home, dreaming of sun-warmed sands and crystal seas.

I received an e-ARC from the publisher, HQ, through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers and of course the author for gifting me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah Morgan is known for her romance books and this one was just as brilliant as her others. I was quickly enthralled in the 3 main characters - Catherine, Adeline and Cassie - and the book was written from each of their POVs.

Each of these 3 women all have very strong storylines and I had different emotions for each - my opinion of Catherine changed as the book went on and her story was told and you gained a better understanding of why she came across so self absorbed in the beginning; Adeline broke my heart and I felt so much emotion for her and what she had been through and Cassie had seen / experienced things from a different perspective to Adeline.

The way Sarah has described Corfu instantly transports my mind there and I can almost feel the sun beating down on me and feel the salty sea breeze on my skin.

The story of years of lies and drama. Gladly all gets trashed out and ends well . A nice summer holiday read

This is another book I’d kept specifically to read while I was on holiday this year. I’ve loved Sarah Morgan for a long, long time so I was excited to dive into this.

The story follows two estranged sisters Adeline and Cassie and their mother Catherine. Each sister has a very different relationship with their mother and very different views on her getting married yet again. After a real battle with herself Adeline decides she’ll travel to Corfu for the wedding. The story takes off from there with twists and turns, and an emotional rollercoaster.

If you’re looking for other titles from Sarah I’d recommend the entire From Manhattan With Love series, Puffin Island series or if you’re getting in the mood for something festive then look no further than The Snow Crystal series! I’m definitely looking forward to reading Sarah’s 2023 Christmas release The Christmas Book Club.

This was a great summer holiday read from Sarah Morgan. When Adeline and Cassie are invited to their mother's fourth wedding on the island of Corfu, they both have very different feelings about Catherine's forthcoming nuptuals.

This story covers the relationships between a mother and her daughters, and how your childhood experiences can shape a lifetime.

It was a light, easy read, and although I guessed the twist early on in the story I enjoyed this beach read. The descriptions of Corfu made me want to be there!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

(3.5)

These characters are so incredibly unlikeable for the first 50-60% of the book due to the miscommunication trope. Don’t get me wrong I felt the ending was obvious as we navigated through the pile of lies the family had been feeding to one another but some little semblance of upfront honesty may have put this up to a 4/4.5 star for me.

That being said the move to something different to the generic contemporary genre with the twist of a thriller in the death of Rob was really intriguing.

This was a lovely little read, full of sun and family drama. I did however find myself skim reading it and just wanting to get to the end to find out how it finishes.

It was interesting to see how difficult the writing/author world can be and understand some of the obstacles that can arise.

I just think I prefer when the settings are wintry and snuggly, as love/family stories just seem to flow better for me, possibly cause it's my favourite time of year, who knows.

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

This one took me a little while to get through but I’m glad I persevered. It’s not the authors usual happy go lucky read & had some strong themes of friendship, family, domestic abuse & a side of romance.
I found it to be a slow burn & the pacing was a little off but it still made me smile.

Well known for her feel-good romances, Sarah Morgan did not disappoint. For this novel she gave love a twist and created a story where things are not what they seem. Mainly set on the island of Corfu the reader is given a sense of sun, sea and good food. Each chapter focused on each main character which I enjoy when reading a book.
Adeline and Cassie are daughters of the famous romance novelist Catherine Swift. Each of the daughters share attributes of their mum but whereas Cassie is outgoing and views life somewhat through rose tinted glasses, Adeline is cautious and guarded because of the rejection she felt as a child. Catherine is getting married for the fourth time, but things are not what they seem. A family secret threatens to destroy already delicate relationships along with a surprise that Cassie has. The reader sees that each of the ladies suffer from insecurities that they need to face if they are ever to have a stable relationship. As a reader I could relate in some ways to the feelings of the characters. I feel that we attach our own meanings to situations, when that may not be the meaning at all.
Will the family be able to process the new revelations, and will this finally be Catherine’s happy ever after?
I enjoyed this read although it felt slightly too long. There seemed to be more of a focus on the characters relationships than is usually in her books which I liked.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Sarah Morgan for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

this was an easy to read but very predictable novel. in the mode of a typical Mills & Boon. Nothing appears to be going to plan for Adeline's latest wedding, her devoted younger daughter is all for the wedding despite not knowing the name of the groom. The elder daughter has more hurdles to climb before agreeing to attend but there are surprises in store for them all.

A great summer escapist read!

Three main characters Catherine Swift, famous romance novelist and mother to estranged sisters Adeline, strait laced workaholic and Cassie who is enthusiastic and carefree, total opposites.

Both invited to their hopeless romantic mothers, fourth, wedding in sunny Corfu, not knowing who the groom is!

Fabulous setting, sandy beaches, villas with mysteries and secrets to be solved.
Will their fractured family find their way back together?

A beautiful, symbolic family saga.

Catherine is a successful romance novelist living in the beautiful Corfu about to celebrate her fourth wedding. She’s hoping the happy event will bring the family closer together her two daughters have their own ideas.

This was an enjoyable and easy summer romance, with some well written and complex characters, I found it pretty predictable but would make an ideal poolside read

This is just what I needed a light summer read perfect for holidays. The family dynamics taut beyond belief seem as if this family will never solve their relationship. As secrets unfold family relationships develop and characters review their own lives seeing situations in different ways. You find yourself routing for them willing them to make peace with each other and the past. Highly recommended.

Sarah skillfully intertwines past and present.

Compelling and emotive, heart-wrenching, poignant and romantic.

Th perfect combining of lighter and a darker storyline.

A beautiful setting with crystal clear blue waters, a stunning Villa and lovely gardens of colour.

Thank you to Kirsty at Mills & Boon for the ARC and pre-approval, HarperCollins Publishers, Netgalley.
