Cassie's mother who lives in Corfu is getting married....again. She sends Carrie an invitation to the wedding that Cassie has no interest in going until her father tells her she has to go that it's the right thing to do.
Cassie has a younger half sister Adeline who she is estranged from, always being jealous that while Adeline stayed with her mother in Corfu Cassie was sent to live with her father.
Over the years she has hardened her heart against her mother and sister and doesn't want to be in their company at a wedding, her mother hasn't even told her who she's marrying.
This is a brilliant story full of surprises as Cassie and Adeline work their way through the start of a sibling relationship. There is a love story, well a few and family problems caused by half truths given to children. A good book to read in the sun.

I’m not usually a romance reader but Morgan’s books are just delightful. They give me the warm fuzzies. They make you think about your own life choices; okay, there may not be a Prince Charming out there for us all but we won’t even find a frog just sitting on the sofa!

Morgan teaches us to take chances and risk our hearts. Summer Wedding has three female leads and we follow their journey, hoping they, too, will risk everything and find happiness. Do they? Well, that would be telling.

Mum started reading books a few years ago - this was massively out of character, I bought both of us a Christmas Morgan to read ‘together’. Since then, we’ve read each Christmas book and more recently, the summer ones too. I was reaching the end of my E-arc when the paper copy landed on my doormat from mum. Joy! There is a sneaky taster of this year’s Christmas book inside…

Thank you HQStories and Netgalley for my E-arc. All opinions are my own.

A lovely, summery family drama read with a dark secret.

Catherine Swift is a romantic author who lives in Corfu, she sents both her daughters Adeline andCassie an invitation to her wedding, but doesn’t mention the group. The sisters born 8 years apart do not get on. Adeline a successful writer of an agony aunt Column and her sister who writes.

I enjoyed reading about the sisters, I liked Cassie as she was written in an uplifting tone and her sister was the more sharp and edgy.

A fun, lively read for the summer.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

Summer Wedding
Sarah Morgan
Publisher: HQ, an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers Ltd
Page Count: 432pp
Release date: 25th May 2023

My path to discovering Sarah Morgan was through her medical Mills & Boon books. Once I’d started reading her work, I never looked back. From her early Mills & Boon stories to these immersive, longer romances Morgan knows how to weave an addictive plot and great characters.
Set predominantly on the picturesque island of Corfu, which to Catherine Swift is ‘paradise’, the place she calls work and home, she’s waiting for the arrival of her two daughters for her fourth wedding to a mystery groom.
Adeline Swift, her eldest daughter is a trained psychologist and journalist who writes an advice column for ‘Woman Now’. She is meanwhile dealing with her own issues; the unwanted invite to her mother’s nuptials, in which she conveniently forgot to name the new husband.
Her half sister Cassie – recent Oxford graduate currently working at cafe Tasty Bites – has her invite too. Where Adeline sees Catherine’s wedding as ridiculous, Cassie sees it as romantic and ever hopeful.
Of course their different childhoods have affected their outlook on life and caused a rift between the two women.
Cassie is the child of husband number two; and for Adeline, Cassie will always be the child her mother decided to raise after having an affair with Cassie’s dad, Rob. Adeline on the other hand was sent off to live with her own dad, Andrew, after the divorce; essentially abandoned by her mom.
Of course, it’s all about the secrets they don’t tell each other and individual perception. These three women experienced their early lives through different lenses, and like with all families, it takes opening up to each other and honesty to heal what’s broken.
Amidst it all we have the B stories about Cassie’s writing ambitions, her friendship with Oliver, Adeline’s strict, reserved way of living and the reunion with her oldest friend Stefano’s – who is also the son of Maria, Catherine’s best friend. And if course – the enigma of husband number four.
There are hints about who it might be and when we get the big reveal, Catherine is shocked that her daughter’s don’t react the way she expected. As a writer, she figures she’s clued up on these things. Not so much.
Insight into the writing life is good fun and feels accurate. I’m a small press writer, so could certainly relate to this one; “For every author who made serious money, there were thousands of others barely able to subsidize their coffee habit.” However, we also see the joy of writing, creating new worlds and characters and the promotional and agent side too. So a useful read for writers wanting to know more.
The setting of Corfu is wonderful. I last went there over ten years ago, but the way Morgan captures the scents and sights sent me right back there. The lush olive trees, sparkling water and cute tavernas.
She’s also particularly adept at showing how her characters are feeling at any given time.
Though it feels like a slightly new direction, it’s full of the warmth, romance, humour and chemistry readers have come to expect in a Sarah Morgan book.
Despite the hiccups, we get our HEA and it’s incredibly satisfying.
It’s a balmy, comfortable and fun journey to Corfu without leaving your chair.

Another great summer read
Catherine Swift is a romance author who is getting married again and invites both her daughters to Corfu for the wedding but omits telling them who she is marrying believing they will both be happy for her
Adeline the older daughter who is very uptight and precise is reluctant to go as she doesn’t really get on with her mum as she feels her mum neglected her when she was younger in favour of her half sister
Cassie the younger daughter who is easy going and loves her mum is excited bit also nervous as she feels Adeline doesn’t like her
Will the wedding go to plan or will past secrets come out and ruin everything ?

I’ve been looking forward to reading the new book from Sarah Morgan, one of my favourite authors. I know I can expect a family story with some strong female characters and an exciting location at the very least. This book is set on the Greek island of Corfu, making it perfect summer holiday reading.

The story concerns successful author Catherine Swift, who now lives in a luxurious villa on Corfu, her daughter from her first marriage, Adeline, and the daughter from her second marriage, Cassie. Adeline is estranged from her mother and lived from an early age with her father, while Cassie has lived most of her life with Catherine. The girls have not spent much time together since early childhood. When Catherine announces that she is to be married for a fourth time, and that she wishes both of her daughters to be present, the news is met with surprise, especially since the identity of the groom is being kept a secret. Catherine is hoping that bringing everybody together may heal the rift in the family. Once all three women are gathered, secrets begin to be revealed, some of which shock Adeline and Cassie and make them realise that they must rethink what they believed about their mother and past events in their own lives.

I found this a really compelling story, full of secrets, revelations and surprises for the characters and the reader. It is very cleverly written, in that the bombshells just keep on coming throughout the text right to the end. I enjoyed speculating about what was going to happen and be divulged next. In addition to the central story concerning the family and the wedding, each of the daughters has things going on in their lives which will surprise the others, which, for me, added to the overall enjoyment of the book. I wasn’t sure that I liked all the central female characters to start with, but they grew on me as the story progressed and they began to feel more comfortable with each other. The setting for the book was very well described, and I could envisage the lovely villa by the sea and almost taste all the delicious Greek cuisine. In my opinion, this book is yet another triumph for Sarah Morgan, and one I would recommend unreservedly to other readers.

Aww wow Sarah has done it again with the perfect book for summer. To start with I did not like Catherine and felt for her two daughters one who felt unloved by her and the other who felt her sister did not love her. As.things unravel you understand why things have happened and why people behave how they do. By the end I felt for all the characters involved. Such a good read.

As expected, another amazing book by Sarah Morgan. Set on the beautiful island of Corfu. When Catherine announces her fourth wedding, not all of her family are happy for her. As you would expect, hidden secrets emerge and we get a great insight into Catherine and her relationships with her daughters. A great insight into family life, love and personal growth. The perfect read for summer.

This is a light hearted and heart warming read from Sarah Morgan. A perfect read for the beach or by the pool this Summer.

Catherine Swift is getting married ….. again. Catherine is getting married for the 4th time in Corfu and has invited her daughters Adeline and Cassie. Adeline doesn’t want to go but is convinced by her Father (Catherine’s first husband) and Cassie cannot wait to go and celebrate with her mum.

The start is very different to the Sarah Morgan books I have read before and it got me right from the start I didn’t want to but it down. I absolutely loved the twists and also the ending. It does follow the story from the viewpoint from all the main characters and each chapter tells events through their eyes.

I guessed where some of the story was going but that absolutely didn’t stop my enjoyment of the story. A definite recommendation this Summer.

Thanks to HQ and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book

This is a lovely heartwarming story full of family drama and secrets. The story focuses on three female characters, a Mother and her two daughters. Each chapter features one of these characters point of view. It is easy to work out whose voice is narrating and the writing moves seamlessly between the characters.
This book is well written and a fantastic summer read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

This is a perfect summer read. Set on the gorgeous island of Corfu it oozes, sunshine, sand and sea. It's a family drama with some interesting twists and surprises. Catherine Swift, a famous romance novelist invites her two daughters to her wedding (her 4th marriage) but neither of them know anything about the groom. Cue some very surprising revelations and reactions! I loved this book. I liked all the characters and it kept me intrigued throughout. Another winner for Sarah Morgan. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC which I am delighted to review here.

I love the Greek islands & I also love Sarah Morgan’s books, so put the two together & I’m bound to read it.

Catherine Swift is a best selling romance author but her own love life has not been so successful. She is getting married, for the fourth time, on the beautiful island of Corfu & has invited her daughters although their relationship is somewhat strained. The groom is a mystery man & as preparations are underway for the big day secrets surface about Catherine & at least one of her daughters.

A romance novel yes, but it has substance; it isn’t all hearts & flowers. A fabulous setting & perfect for a holiday read.

Family drama. Second Chance Romance. Friends to Lovers. Summer Romance.

I think what I love most about Morgan's romances is that there are usually multiple romances focusing with different tropes. And unlike some I have read where one or two can feel unfinished or the flow doesn't sit right. Morgan has a way of intertwining them all seamlessly as well as devoting enough time to each Romance.

I think my favourite was Cassie, she felt very much like the heart of the book and seemed to anchor the characters. And her Romance was also one of my favourite tropes! I'll let you read to find out! Though Adalines growth and arc was so fun to read.

Though I did figure out the twist quite a bit before it was revealed, it still hit hard and it gave that heavy realism to the story that some romances can lack.

Families can make mistakes but family is family, whether that is your blood family or your chosen.

As always from Sarah, this is a delightful story. The characters are well-written and come alive on the page. The plot is complicated but family loyalties will win through, you just know it!

Catherine is a very successful romance writer, but her latest book has only taken third place in the best seller list, she worries that she is losing her touch. Maybe it is time to change direction in her writing? Sadly, she has not been so lucky in love herself, and has just told her two daughters, Cassie and Adeline, that she is getting married again, for the fourth time. Adeline is appalled, she was traumatised when her mother left her father for another man, then had another child. Cassie has always been told that her father was the love of Catherine’s life, and is thrilled that her mother has found happiness again. She has a secret of her own that she is keeping to herself for now. Both daughter have been invited to come to their mother’s home in Corfu for the wedding without being told anything about the groom. Adeline really doesn’t want to go, but with prompting from her artist father she changes her mind.

When the girls discover who the groom is they are both horrified, for different reasons. It takes a lot of twists and turns, and honesty, to resolve their issues. A lovely story that gives everyone a happy ending!

The writing was easy to get into and pulled you in. I liked the fact that there were multiple points of view throughout the story. As the reader you were privy to things that the other characters weren't. What was clever was that there was still an air of mystery kept so you were hooked.

The book is made up of a Prologue, two parts split into chapters and an Epilogue. The Prologue drew you in immediately and the Epilogue finished it off nicely. The chapters were long and each one was from an individual point of view. The points of view that we heard from were the mum and the two sisters so each chapter alternated between the three of them. I liked the length of the chapters because it allowed you to really get into that character's frame of mind before moving on. All the characters were excellent and so it was never a disappointment when you moved onto the next point of view.

The characters were excellent. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and at one point you didn't like certain characters then you were persuaded to change your mind when you saw things from their perspective. It was all very interesting and enjoyable to read about.

Lastly the settings. I loved the description of Corfu and whilst it took a backseat to the characters and their stories, there was enough there to add an extra layer to the story.

Overall a great read and a 5 star rating from me!

I love a good bit of family drama and Sarah Morgan always excels at the dramatic family dynamics. Summer Wedding is full of secrets, love and regret.
I loved the tension between the three women - their anxiety before seeing eachother and then when together was written so well, you could really sense the anticipation.
Having each of the chapters written from a different view point meant the story really zipped along and it felt like we were really getting to know each of the women and their thoughts and fears.
Another brilliant read from Sarah Morgan.

Another expertly written novel from Sarah Morgan, that had me sighing in satisfaction at the end. If I ever read a second novel alongside a Morgan book, that second one will always fade into the background because this author just seems to have everything you need to make a cracking read. I have read so many of Morgan’s novels by now (still some in the back catalogue that I haven’t reached yet!), and each one remains unique and absorbing.

Readers are taken away to the deliciously warm, Greek island of Corfu. I loved the setting and how vividly Morgan brings it to her readers. The fresh heat, the blue skies, the morning sun… it all felt so palpable and I felt like I belonged on the villa’s coast with the characters. It was difficult to drag myself away from this book and return to the grey skies of reality and this I think is just one way that makes Morgan’s writing so successful.

On paper, you can hardly believe that Catherine Swift is heading down the aisle for the fourth time. Four marriages?! How is that even possible?! And this is exactly what her eldest, estranged daughter, Adeline believes. Dragging her feet to Corfu, the only reason she agrees to attend this farcical arrangement is because of her father’s influence. Leaving behind the stresses of London life that Adeline knows is regimented (for her own good, of course), Adeline is never prepared for what greets her at her mother’s villa.

Catherine’s youngest daughter, Cassie, is portrayed as the opposite of Adeline. Rather than cautious and reserved, Cassie is bubbly and spontaneous. Despite still working in a coffee shop after finishing her degree at Oxford, she is in no hurry to move on and start making “life” decisions. She is over the moon to her of her mother’s nuptials but is equally dreading meeting again with her step-sister. Cassie and Adeline hardly have the closest of relationships and Cassie knows this is going to cause tension at the family wedding.

I loved how the story progressed and we are given insights into the sisters and Catherine. The narrative is so well-developed that I felt I knew these women intimately. They are all so unique yet, I admired how Morgan shares traits with Catherine’s daughters, reflecting that they are closer than they realise. Not only do we learn about the cause of the strained relationship between Catherine and Adeline, and the two sisters, but also about each one’s past, adding more flavour to the novel.

As you come to expect from a Morgan novel, this is a story about growth and love. The summer setting added an element of chill and relaxation to this story and the warmth that came from the weather was reflected in the growing connections between the characters. The plot was not predictable and I found I could not get enough of this book, always reluctant to put it down when duty called.

This was another fantastic read – this writer does not disappoint! It is perfect for a holiday, or even for a cheap get away when the passports remain redundant for the summer.

With thanks to HQ Digital and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Set predominately in Corfu; it is an engaging beach read that captures the essence of familial relationships. The prologue entices the reader into Catherine's world, wondering from the outset whether it's a fact or fiction, as she is a successful romantic novelist. It's the eve of her fourth wedding, and she has secrets. Is her career failing, and will her daughters even attend her wedding? Adeline is the eldest and has a strained relationship with her mother dating back to her turbulent childhood. Cassie is the youngest of the sisters, Adeline's alter ego, who has a close relationship with her mother. Catherine's secret revelations change the family dynamic but offer hope for the future.
I guessed the secrets, but that added to my enjoyment of the story, seeing how they affected the family and hoping they would become closer due to them. I liked the developing relationship between the sisters, Catherine's character development and the gentle romance.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
