The descriptions of the gardens are very thorough and the pictures are lovely. It doesn't beat actually bring able to visit the properties in person though!
Great pictures, informative but I would have liked some more illustrations about the main points of each garden.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine
Just to be clear, I read this book with an e-reader with colour.
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me. The pictures are fab, but in the world we live in books with incredible photos are nothing particularly special anymore.
Each garden has a nice overview but then it goes into excruciating detail, and often the best descriptions don’t actually have a corresponding photo. The book felt like it did not know what it was - a coffee table book, an information book, a National Trust advert?
This is such a truly beautiful book. Ideal as a coffee table book to flip through in those cold winter months to cherish the joy of spring flowers in bloom
This is a wonderfully detailed book about all of the gardens belonging to The National Trust. It includes beautiful photos of the gardens. I particularly liked the inclusion of the soil type and the altitude, the average rainfall and size of each garden, so I would know if certain plants would be suitable for my garden. The potted history of each garden was also very interesting, and I have found some gardens I would love to visit in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
