This was a sweet, & refreshing romcom. Nerdy girl-next-door meets Hollywood superstar in this adorable small town romance.
I liked the whole premise of the book. Along the romance, the sub-plot was quite interesting.
The romance was swoony, cheesy, charming, funny & romantic. I adored Jane & Nick together; what a great duo.

The small town of Patience needs a financial boost. Temporary librarian and aspiring film-score composer Jane Wagner invites movie star Nick Haddon to the town's festival. No one thinks he'll come, but he does!
Once again, like with other books from Sariah Wilson that I've read, the kiss did not come until much later, and boy was it worth the wait. Dang ๐ฅต
I've always read about actors, scriptwriters, the crew, but never the composers of the scores. Such a unique occupation. And oh my goodness that epilogue ๐ so beautiful ๐ฅฐ
I will say it was a little underwhelming though, aside from the chemistry between the characters, but a wonderful story nonetheless.

Temporary town librarian Jane Wagner put together a video that goes viral inviting movie star Nick Haddon to come to their town festival. Much to her surprise he agrees to come to small town Patience, Ohio. She hopes he will bring in much needed attendance as the town is recovering from a mayor embezzlement scandal. His publicist has arranged for a film crew to provide social media posts boosting the actor is trying to improve his image. She also tasks Jane with keeping him out of trouble with drink, women etc.
Nick is actually a sweetheart. He believes his is cursed as he has already hit big success and it is hard trying to surpass his past. He is committed to being a better person and not the player/partier he once was. The story is told from Janeโs POV and I wish we had a bit more from him. Janeโs actions seem repetitive at times with her mooning over him and getting distracted when he is near. It makes her seem less mature than the person that is entrusted with the town festival.
This is cute and wholesome story for a poolside or deck of a cabin read. Likable characters but not a story Iโll remember for long. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

This book had so much potential -- a cute premise, great characters, and a charming setting. And while a lot of that surfaced in the final product, I was underwhelmed. The plot is 90% an unsatisfactory will-they-won't-they which relies too heavily on unrealistic hangups. I wish the author had added more genuine conflict and character growth, which in turn would have provided some much-needed depth to the story

I don't know what it is about celebrity romance stories but I could read them all day every day.
Wilson's lastest work is a true delight for any fan of a good love story with some stakes.

Cute novel about a movie star who comes to a small town to help the town out during its festival. He has to stay with the young woman running the festival. It all works out in the end. Charming. Predictable.
overall three start, but four for romance.

๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ฐ๐ญ๐ญ๐บ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐น Jane's as her small-town of Patience is barely surviving and she goes to the trouble of somehow managing to call in Hollywood heartthrob, Nick Haddon.

I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and the small town nature of inevitably making a book that much more comforting.
But it, at the end of it all, fell a little short for me. I somehow didn't enjoy the plot was executed despite it having loads of potential.

This book was adorable. It had a very slow burn, but I love that! Lots of sexual tension and chemistry up until the point where they finally give in. I love celebrity/regular person stories, and this one hit all the right spots for me. I would highly recommend it!

A funny, charming romcom that deftly employs the small-town romance/insta-love/celeb falls for normal person tropes. Excellent supporting cast, believably complex main characters with relatable problems, mostly chaste but with one really incredibly hot kissing scene. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book!

Patience, Ohio is in big financial trouble. So big that the highest town official is temporary librarian and wanna-be film music composer, Jane Wagner. On a whim she invited handsome film star, Nick Haddon, to attend the annual Harvest Festival. She never expected him to accept, though, and when he arrives, she finds heโs so much more than she anticipated.
Sariah Wilson is great at creating romance between high profile celebrities and everyday people. Jane and Nick are fun and likeable, as are the supporting cast. I loved that Nick had a plan to rediscover romance slowly. I loved their banter, and the dollar bill trading, so cute. I really enjoyed this sweet romance. 3.5/5 Stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for this complimentary ARC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Oh this was such a good read!
The pining between Nick and Jane was palpable and boy did Sariah make us wait. However, when they did finally kiss it was worth the angst.
I loved the town and the atmosphere that was created. I wish more focus had been placed on Jane's composing mojo and how Nick was her muse for composing again. It felt it fell to the wayside a little. The grovelling could have been a bit more OTT especially in a sweet small town romance like this. It calls for grand gestures but other than that, I basically read this in one sitting and loved every minute of it.

This was a sweet rom-com set in the small town of Patience, Ohio. Dreamy movie star meets girl next door type. It's a fun read and a short happily-ever-after type story.
Description:
When Hollywood comes to small-town Ohio, the scene is set for an unpredictable romance in a fun and flirty novel by Sariah Wilson, the bestselling author of The Chemistry of Love . The small town of Patience needs a financial boost. Temporary librarian and aspiring film-score composer Jane Wagnerโs plan? Invite movie star Nick Haddon to the townโs harvest festival and stand back for the tourist surge. No one thought heโd say yesโmuch less that heโd bring a documentary crew to stream his visit. Given Nickโs affinity for trouble, his reputation and films are tanking. Patience is the perfect stopover on a journey of self-improvement and his chance to put good karma out in the universe. Spending time with a sweet and lovely guide like Jane is a bonus. But Janeโs heartbroken past keeps her on guard against men. Especially when theyโre jinxed. The truth is, Janeโs falling hard. But she canโt ignore the differences between them. Heโs famous. She isnโt. Heโs here for two weeks. This is her home. Where can it possibly lead? Sheโll see. Because day after blissful day, Nickโs encouraging Jane to trust again and, best of all, to dream beyond Patience.
My Thoughts:
I enjoyed the banter between the characters. There were some humorous situations that made me laugh. It helped that I liked both Jane and Nick. The romance is sweet. The small town seemed like a caring community. This was a light, happy read. Yes, there were some moments and hurdles, but nothing too drastic. Might be a fun beach read.
Thanks to Montlake through Netgalley for an advance copy. This book will be published on July 25, 2023.

Small town Patience is in need of money. The librarian Jane Wagner has an idea. She invites actor Nick Haddon to visit. Her hope is that this will cause a tourism boom. Shockingly he agrees to come and is even bringing a camera crew to make a documentary. Due to his bad boy reputation his publicist insists that he stay with Jane. She isnt a fan of this but Jane thinks itโs just two weeks what could go wrong.
Despite their differences they both start to fall for one another.
The story was slow at times but I feel like it ended quickly.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I will say that towards the end this one was kind of predictable but that was totally fine. I loved every page and I can not wait for more. This one was super cute and a quick read. Great for this coming summer this is the book to take to the beach with you. I loved the characters the story. This is the Sariah Wilson that I love so well.

3.5 stars
I'm a total sucker for a Hollywood or rockstar romance and the is my first Sariah Wilson book and it didn't disappoint. Jane is an aspiring movie music composer, having lived and breathed her life with a soundtrack in her head. Nick is a bit of a troublesome movie star whose star is on the descent as his private life becomes his main story instead of his work.
This is a cosy, easy read that doesn't tax your brain too much. I love books like this as after a hard day I just want to escape into a bit of a confected world. The ending is a bit saccharine and predictable, but I've come to expect that as something romance readers want; I'm in the minority.
Thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for the ARC.

Um small town romance between a librarian and a hollywood actor.....yes please!! This was such a fun storyand i enjoyed every minute. I do love romance books with normal girl and a famous character! I enjoyed this so much that I have started reading all other Sariah Wilson books! If you enjoy this one make sure you read The Seat filler, especially is you enjoy award shows!
Fabulous all round!

I have read previous books by this author and loved them so I was not surprised when I loved this one as well. It gave me cute small town vibes and I love that. It also had some very interest plots that you don't normally see. It kept me captivated.

I love love loved this book! One of my favorite authors and it did not disappoint! What I loved lost was the slow build up of character development

The idea of this book was cute and intriguing but the execution was too predictable and the writing was too much tell not enough show.

This was a cute and easy read! I really enjoyed it.
It had some Hallmark small town romance vibes ๐
It has great, lovable characters, funny banter + dialogues and swoony moments.
I also really liked the small town vibe, with people having each others back and the helping community spirit.
It is a really slow, slow burn. I maybe would have liked it a little bit less slow ๐.
It wasnโt a spectacular book, but it was very enjoyable to read. So if you're looking for a funny, sweet, clean, celebrity vs small town girl story, I would definitely recommend it ๐
