What the actual hell has this book done to me?!? Anytime I think about Finn and Chandler I’m just giddy. I love them.
So the actual concept of the book, with Chandler being Finn’s ghost writer but oh yeah he definitely needs sex lessons too while we’re travelling all over the country together? Yes, thank you, I’m obsessed.
The spice was unparalleled. Obviously they slept together right at the start of the book, as that’s kind of what half of the plot is about, but it still very much had a bit of a slow burn happening in terms of their feelings, rather than just physical actions if that makes sense?
But there was so much more to it than just (incredible amazing perfect) steamy scenes.
The way Chandler and Finn communicated with each other 🥺 They were so open and honest from the start but as they grew more and more comfortable with each other, they opened up even more and it was I think, one of the best and healthiest relationships I’ve ever read about in a book. There were so many times that I just wanted to give both of them the biggest hug. About 90% of Finn’s stories made me cry; some of the things he shared were so hard to read. There are some serious topics in this but they were handled with such care and so well written.
There was so much to this book that made it perfect, so many individual lines that had my stomach flipping with excitement. But! When Finn said ‘sweetheart’, holy crap. I almost threw up with excitement over this one word. I can’t explain it. Even now, thinking about it, I’m a wreck. It’s genuinely that one word that took this book from brilliant, to one I’ll have in my treasure forever and ever pile.
Other lines that I loved with some but not very helpful context:
-God bless Ricardo and Judith (the best unseen characters)
-If we were different people, I’d reach over and place a hand on his (😢 this one line made me sob)
-Come here, sweetheart (omg)
-Blame the siren song of the gray sweatpants, but I move closer

This was my first Rachel Lynn Solomon book and I'm glad I decided to pick this up because it was a cute read!
I really enjoyed the character development and backstories of both protagonists, really fun side characters and the writing aspect was interesting to me (as an aspiring writer).
The comic-con stuff was fun too :) I'm a nerd myself so I can relate and it felt very reminiscent of times when I went to those.
It was also very refreshing to read about a love interest who is shy, nerdy and genuinely a kind person. Seems like there's a trend at the moment of grumpy, borderline mean guys in books, so it was a pleasure to read about Finn. Such a cinnamon roll.
My one problem with the book was that I wasn't hugely into the romance, not to say I didn't like it, but there wasn't as much chemistry as I'd hoped and I found myself more invested in the writing/reunion show parts.
I like RLS's writing and enjoyed her quirky, flawed and relatable characters so I'll be picking up her other books.
4.75/5 stars! I really enjoyed "Weather Girl" by this author so I was excited to get the chance to read this book. This was such a fun and steamy contemporary romance. I think what sets this book apart is the genuineness of the main characters. I think they have a healthier relationship than any I've had in real life and it felt very real and raw. I love Chandler and Finn and can't wait to see what this author writes next.
I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Having read one of Solomon's YA novels, it was a real treat to return to her writing again. One of 'Business or Pleasure''s strengths definitely shines through in her writing style, and it is easily my favourite part of her books. The situations all feel very real and thought out, and it's clear there's a lot of love gone into this. I adored how open and honest the book was, and the way in which it dealt with mental health and OCD, which I didn't expect going in and was a lovely surprise.
Personally, though, I didn't always love the chemistry between the two leads. I think they were definitely both well-developed characters that had a very honest and refreshing relationship with each other, but I simply didn't feel myself rooting for them as much as I have done in other romance novels.
A fun read though, especially if you love the author!

This was an enjoyable read. A very sex positive book which at times read like a manual for men, which is weird because this will mostly be read by women... That said, if it gives someone the confidence to handle these tricky discussions in their personal lives that can only be good.
I found the characters well fleshed out. There was certainly great chemistry. Also great representation of mental health illnesses! I really liked this part.
For me, it read quite slow. It didn't give me that urgency to turn page after page. But that is always a personal thing and I'm sure it would do this for someone else.
A clever book! Would recommened 🙌
Thank you Netgalley and Penguin Michael Joseph for this e-ARC.
✨Business or Pleasure✨
By Rachel Lynn Solomon
When Chandler Cone meets “Drew” the sparks instantly fly - unfortunately, the chemistry does not translate in the bedroom and he is a terrible one night stand.
The description of said one night stand really made me cringe… which I also know was the point (and was also made up for later!) It took me a few days to get back into it after that. I also found it slow in parts, not totally feeling the spark between the two MCs.
Despite this, there was stuff I really enjoyed about it.
Beyond the “teach me” aspect of the book, we find two lost souls finding and enjoying their passions again, which also involved finding and enjoying their connection with each other. It was refreshing to read about a healthy relationship that was rooted in communication, acceptance and friendship.
“Isn’t that what we all want - to be able to talk, or create, and have other people listen?” This quotes sums up what they’re looking for and what they are able to achieve.
I’m also I’m a sucker for a ‘MC1 looks after MC2 while they are sick’ plot. Especially when it comes with a medicine induced confession… 🥰
There are also some fun interludes of dialogue from Finn’s old TV show - it took me right back to the days when The Vampire Diaries consumed my evenings!
This is a book full of heart - thank you NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the DRC 🥰
You’ll love this is you love:
🤍Forced proximity
🤍Mental health rep
🤍“Teach me” 🔥
🤍Teen heart throb

This book 🥰! What a fantastic read that just left me feeling all warm and cosy inside.
There’s so many good things about this book, but the thing I loved the most was how healthy and communicative the relationship between Chandler and Finn was. Like yes please, I now require all future book boyfriends to be able to communicate their feelings and be open to taking feedback. Even the third act drama was handled so well it didn’t make me want to throw by kindle out the window which it usually does.
Other things I enjoyed were:
- The cameo mention of Shay and Dominic
- How the cover really ties into the story
- THE ONLY ONE BED TROPE
- Wonderful side characters
- The suggestion of an Aquamarine 2 (which I would totally watch)
The spicy parts definitely gave me Kiss Quotient vibes, which I really loved and again, the respect and openness between the two MCs was such a breath of fresh air.
The nod to abortion and mental health issues as part of the story that just flowed and made sense was executed perfectly.
Overall, a fantastic book which I just loved.
Thank you NetGalley and Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House for the ARC.
I expected great things from this book because I’ve loved every other novel that Rachel Lynn Solomon has written, and great things were delivered! It struck the perfect balance between spicy and slow burn, and I spent the whole time wholeheartedly rooting for Chandler and Finn. Rachel has a way of writing characters that are just completely likeable. I wish I could be Chandler’s BFF - I wear socks all the time too! There are moments of total vulnerability which was beautiful to read alongside the steamy snapshots of their ‘lessons’. Rachel’s style of writing - fun, honest, sensitive - is just perfect. I loved this and I can’t wait to read it again.
