I really enjoyed this book. Emilia Ward is a crime writer, living in London with her husband and 2 children. When some things happen that exactly mirror events from her novels, Emilia starts to worry. But when a friend is murdered and the scene is just like one from her most recent book which has not yet been published ,she is terrified. As the reader you start to mix the stories up and you get to the stage where you are unsure what is fact and what is fiction. That's what I liked about the book. Thanks to NetGalley for a preview copy.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
Emilia is a successful author, and is married with two children. Emilia becomes concerned when her work of fiction starts to become reality.
This was a great suspense psychological thriller. There were so many twists and turns, and it seemed everybody had a secret to keep. We read from different timelines so we grasp the history that leads us to the current time. The story was well written and built tension throughout, all the while trying to find out who the culprit is who hates Emilia so much. The characters were well written and likeable until they wasn’t likeable. A great read again from this author.
Another Claire Douglas classic. The storyline about Emilia Ward, an author of crime books, doesn't disappoint- gripping and twisty and definitely one I would recommend.
I love books within a book! Emilia Ward is the author of Miranda Moody book series about a DCI and a serial killer. She finished Book 10 and sent it to her friends and family to read. Coincidentally Emilia has experienced strange pranks that also happens in Book 10! The premise is great! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy.
I was really excited to read this book. I enjoy it but found it wasn't as good as her other books, I found that the plot was quite slow to get going and the multiple voices was confusing at times Emilia was a very likeable and credible character and I finished this book as I was invested in her story. A good read with a few twists.
Claire Douglas never disappoints, she keeps you hooked until the final page, each story she produces is better than the last with twists galore
Emilia Ward is the best selling crime writer of the Detective Miranda Moody series. As she begins to write what may be her final novel in the series things begin to happen in her life which are a scary reflection of what she has written about in her novels.
I absolutely loved the author's previous two novels especially The Couple at Number 9 which was a tightly plotted, atmospheric and gripping read.
The Woman Who Lied was a disappointing read, it felt like it was written by a different author and was in need of an edit. It started off well, I was drawn to the synopsis, there is a really intriguing plot there and I enjoyed the excerpts from the Miranda Moody novels. However there seemed to be far too many characters, too many unnecessary details and a plot that really needed tightening up. A novel with promise that didn't quite work for me.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this digital ARC.
Tremendous…
Emilia Ward - mother, daughter, wife, ex wife, friend and best selling crime writer. Her Detective Miranda Moody series is hugely successful and she’s about to kill off her main protagonist. When a bizarre series of events begins to unfold the line between fact and fiction begins to blur. Three distinct threads merge in this pacy and unpredictable suspense and lead to a, perhaps, wholly unexpected denouement. Nothing is as it seems. Truly tremendous, cleverly plotted with a deftly drawn cast and an enthralling one sit read for this reader.
For me, this seemed quite a slow start, not so much that nothing happened, but that not very much got done about the things that happened.
It hit a certain point, where I had a genuine "what?" moment, and from there, things got moving at a better pace.
It gets a bit wild with accusations, and plot twists, but I'm talking wild in a good way.
I enjoyed the writing throughout the book, snd the whe thing kept me invested to the end.
