Both my kids loved this but especially my 4 year old. As soon as we finished it she wanted to read it again. It’s very silly (as you can probably tell from its title) and has interactive elements in the form of pull out sliders on most pages.
Hilarious! I read the Ebook but wished I had the hardcover since there are interactive pull tabs. An excellent fun read for everyone in this household.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This is a short little board book with pull out flaps for half the pages. Reading it as an ebook was a little weird, but they did format it so that you could see what was under the flaps as well, so that was nice. I would not, however, recommend buying it in digital format if they ever make it an option (which I doubt they will). This book is about a group of animals heading into outer space, but after they've loaded up on the rocket ship and follow blast off, the notice a horrible smell on board. Everyone keeps accusing Penguin, but he points at other traveler's belongings insisting that those are the cause of the smell. Eventually the rest of the animals abandon ship and Penguin goes to the moon alone, where he encounters a slight problem, as he has some pretty wicked gas.
The illustrations were fun and colorful, and the pull out flaps were a nice touch that will definitely appeal to your small children. The story was fun as well, which isn't always the case with board books, so it's definitely a bonus here. I would be okay reading this one to a kid several times before I got tired of it I think. Overall I give it 4.26 out of 5 stars.
Cute illustrations and funny story line. My 7 year old son laughed a lot while reading this board book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for this advanced reader copy.
My 6 year old absolutely LOVED this stinky, tooty, rhyming book. It’s an interactive book but we read it as an ebook ARC (thanks NetGalley!). That didn’t matter for us all that much though, as he’s a bit old for pulling cards and flaps in books. And, really, it was the fart sounds he liked best. Plus, he was delighted with the (spoiler alert!) fact that penguin had been blaming his toots on others all along, a feat he practices with us, his family, on the daily. Cute illustrations and a funny story, this book would be a hit for any kid who likes space travel and finds the noises of our bodily functions hilarious (which is most kids, I feel!)
Cute, silly, quick little baby board book with lift flaps. Great to read to baby's and young toddlers
A cute book about animal astronauts debating who is causing the disgusting small within their rocket.
It was cute and a bit funny.... However, I felt it fell a bit flat. The theme of farting is a very common and sometimes over done theme in children's books. Therefore, if you're going to write about it, the book really needs to stand out. I just felt like there wasn't anything special in this book to set it apart from other similar books.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for allowing me to read this book.
Ok as a mom of 2 boys I loved this book. I’m sure my girls would love it too but I can just picture my older son laughing reading this to his younger brother. I love children’s books with animals and pulls, my kids always love that and I also love rhyming books I feel like they just roll of my tongue while I’m reading. Cute silly book to help normalize something we all do!
This is such a cute book, especially for young kids who love fart jokes! The illustrations are fun and so are the pull tabs, especially the ones that show the ship farting.
A laugh out loud funny picture book about farts and space. What’s not to love? My son loved it as did I! I recommend this toddlers. Thank you for this copy.
This book is hilarious. Some animals went in a rocket, ready to launch into space when somebody farted. Nobody knows who farted, but the smell was so horrible and they started to accuse one and another. A funny and entertaining book.
So cute and funny. Kids love animals. Kids also love fart jokes! This is a perfect silly combination of animals and farting.
My 4-year-old cackled throughout the entire story… but he IS all boy! Cute story, difficult to read virtually due to the flaps we couldn’t partake in. Overall, loved the idea behind the stink, the rhyming throughout, and the very colorful pictures. I’d buy for a beginning reader! Thanks for the ARC.
5⭐️
Animals are headed to space but right before take off one them let's one rip. Everyone thinks it's the penguin but the penguin keeps pointing the finger to stinky socks or a lunch.
My kids love books with fart jokes. Not all parents might like it but we found it to be hilarious. The illustrations are bright and the animals are pretty funny.
I think this will make a great board book with the interactive slide out pages.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for this advanced reader copy. My review is voluntarily my own.
I will be posting my review to my Instagram page the.littlest.bookworm and retail sites on or close to publication.
My boys and I really enjoyed Stink In Space! They're 3 and 5 and find all things smelly hilarious. They're also really into space so the actual plot was an added bonus. The illustrations were really fun too.
This would be the perfect book for early readers and I don't believe it would be too gross for the classroom.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.
A great funny cute book about farting.
Kids find this hilarious and my nephew was laughing his head off throughout.
A fab all round book with funny illustrations.
A hilarious who farted book for the youngest, with a twist: it’s set in space and the astronauts are animals. I’m sure it will have little ones pulling the tabs over and over and laughing out loud with the adorable pictures.
this is a book with interactive elements, where some parts can be pulled to reveal something. a bunch of astronaut animals were off to space but in their enclosed rocket suddenly there's terrible smell and they ended up blaming each other
This is a fun, rhyming, interactive board book that kids will love. Kids love potty humour and find smelly jokes hilarious.
A diverse group of animals blast off in their rocket ship and off they soar into space. But wait... what is that stinky smell? Whew!!!! The animals start tossing smelly items out the garbage shoot and then it finally becomes more and more clear who is responsible for the yucky overwhelming odour.
This fun board book is sturdy and includes pull-out sliders. How fun is that? You will never guess who the mysterious stinky culprit is.
The entertaining illustrations are vibrant and engage kids ( and adults ) from beginning to the end of the tale. The animals portrayed are super adorable and expressive which I love. Who doesn't need a good giggle together? I highly recommend "Stink in Space."
The kids loved this book. It made them laugh and they really liked the pictures. They were engrossed all of the way through. The different characters were fun and well thought out.
They particularly liked the gorilla with the false teeth! Thank you for the advanced copy.
