Based on cover and description alone, this book was not what I was expecting. It’s a little girl and a dragon making scones together. At first the illustrations were a little off putting, but I grew to love them. However, the font with the illustrations doesn’t work. It seems self-published in the “not great” way. And the story is simple but works. I think with some other touches here and there (i.e. layout and coloring) this could be a fabulous book that Libraries carry for years.
Our five year old grandson enjoyed the story. We should know since we read this story both to him and his three year old little sister to many smiles.
I accessed a digital review copy of this book from the publisher.
Princess Michaela's plan is to bake, so she gathers the ingredients with her dragon.
The story is very simple, as are the illustrations. It had the feeling of a bedtime story that someone told their child and then immediately published it. While this type of story does not need to be complicated or long, this one was overly simplistic and at times boring.
This book has the most adorable pictures. Both my toddlers loved looking at the pictures. The story itself was ok, but it seemed to skip certain parts (which my children noticed as we bake a lot). A fun read for a very young child, great pictures, but likely not as entertaining for any child old enough to understand the baking process.
What a magical and heartwarming tale! Princess Michaela and the Orange Dragon is a perfect blend of adventure, humor, and heart, and I couldn't get enough of it. The story is beautifully written and brought to life with gorgeous illustrations that truly transport you to another world. But what really sets this book apart is the delightful characters - especially the spunky and fearless Princess Michaela and her loyal dragon companion. This book is a true gem and would make a wonderful addition to any child's bookshelf.
Princess Michaela and the Orange Dragon is an absolute delight from start to finish! The enchanting world created by the author is filled with colorful characters, magic, and of course, delicious scones. The story is beautifully illustrated and engaging, making it the perfect choice for bedtime reading with little ones. But it's not just for kids - even as an adult, I found myself captivated by Princess Michaela's quest and couldn't wait to see what happens next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fairy tales, magic, and heartwarming stories about friendship.
I received this ARC free in exchange for an honest review.
I read this book to my almost four year old- who is ALL into princesses and she LOVED it!! I also loved how they incorporated a recipe. Very fun picture book!
