If you love bookshops and you're also a fan of slow burn romances, this is the book for you!
Clare doesn't really know what to do with her life and applies for a 3 month long job managing a bookshop in Bal. Little did she know when she was told that she had got the job that there would be someone else managing it with her and sharing the apartment that she would be staying in.
Clare and Jack clash in management styles and personalities but slowly start to turn the business around and go viral with one of their ideas.
The idea behind this book will appeal to book fans all over the world, it's a really fun read and worth checking out, you won't regret it!
I’m not sure how I feel about this book. I tried to get into it but it just wasn’t for me.
I’m sorry I had this on my shelf for so long unread.
This book was such an enjoyable read! The MCs were perfect and their banter was brilliant. The side characters brought so much to the story. There was a little spice but it was well written and didn’t overtake the story. Perfect summer read.
an easy book to read once started you have to read through story of clare and jack meeting to work in a rundown book store to restore it to its glory in three months in the warmth of bali plenty of fun and happy ending for all
Feel good summer book perfect for when you're lounging on the beach. Characters were lovable and it felt like a found family kind of vibe.
The absolute DREAM job of working in a bookshop. On a BEACH. In BALI. With a grumpy HUNK? Has this premise been stolen from my daydreams by some kind of AI mind-swipe?! I absolutely ADORED every moment of this quick beach read. Highly recommend!
A sweet romance that whilst it's not a literary masterpiece, it was a fun and happy time. I will not think about this book again but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy my read and find it satisfying to complete. The writing was fast paced and witty, very easy to read and I would happily take another book from this author. I think the characters were a bit flat, not too much depth was provided and I found that they didn't always feel like real people to me personally but I did root for them throughout loved the satisfying conclusion!
This book was great...its so so cosy and I love the atmosphere and the setting of Bali. The characters were gray too.
A great romance to read in the summer! I enjoyed the setting and the characters, plus a lovely plot! Thank you netgalley for the review copy!
Picked this up in need of some sunshine vibes during this typical British weather we’ve been having and it did not disappoint.
Such a light and easy read, immediately got swept up into the story and the characters. I loved the banter, the setting and you can never go wrong with the running after people in the airport trope!!
Wow this was such a good book! I read it on holiday and really enjoyed it! I loved the characters and the setting. I really enjoyed reading a book about a bookshop!
Beach Rivals is a BEACH READ!
Super easy and light read. What a cute summer romance opposites attract read, will be checking out Georgie's stuff in the future.
Beach Rivals is a the sunshine beach read you need, Whether it be winter or summer sun this book is perfect for the beach or lounging by the pool with a nice cool drink.
You get swept away by the story and the main characters interactions that it's so easy to devour it in just one sitting!
the setting for this novel was picturesque and perfect. who wouldn’t snatch up an opportunity to work in a book shop abroad for 3 months SO DAMN quick. ⠀
⠀
my gosh was this a slow burn and a case of i DID NOT like the male love interest at the start because he was a stubborn, stuck-up prick. (i know i know, classic romance trope when the girl breaks down his walls and you finally find his humanity) but GOSH when it got to like 2/3 through the book and this man was still being rude i was like sorry how. like yay enemies to lovers but HOW is she gonna fall for him. ⠀
⠀
…. and then obviously georgia’s hatred and walls break down when he gets emotional after meeting his favourite author. like FINE yes he loves books and appreciates works of art i will accept him as a MC now. ⠀
⠀
i was also so invested in the work they did to the bookshop - keeping in mind when they both first arrived it was in major disarray, books everywhere, dull atmosphere and they managed to transform it into a place for book clubs, author events with adorable home made signs, yes i loved it and i wish it actually existed because this would be next holiday destination if it did. ⠀
This was a nice easy read, and can I just say that it would also be my ideal job!! I found that I quickly fell in love with the sad old book store the same as our main character and couldn't read it quickly enough to see if her and Jack managed to turn it around. A really nice summer read or just a read to get you in that summer mood!
This book has been the perfect escape and mood lightener that I have needed. This is definitely an author to watch out for.
I loved Claire, she is a brilliant character and one you can’t help but love. She becomes determined to make a go of the bookshop. Jack is so much harder to read. I have loved waiting for him to show another side.
This is beautifully written and transports you as a reader. This is an author who can make you feel as though everything is familiar. Enemies to lovers is definitely a favourite. It’s always fun and intriguing with how it will pan out.
This is a perfect summer read. It’s fun, beautiful setting and brilliant characters. This is a book I have devoured in just one sitting. I found myself completely pulled into this one.
This book has been a brilliant read and one that I wish I could experience as a first read all over again, I have no hesitation about recommending this book to everyone.
A must for all romance lovers.
A cute summer romance story - I loved the banter, the setting of the bookshop and the love interest. The bookshop is adorable but I needed more Bali. The books saviour is that there are some amazing characters and I adored Celestina. I also think a lot of people can relate to Clare and not knowing what to do with your life.
Beach Rivals is the perfect holiday read for fans of books about books.
Clare is drifting aimlessly. And so, on a whim, she flies to Bali to run Seashore Books for three months. What she doesn't expect is to find a shop neglected and almost abandoned. Nor did she know that she was to be living and working with Jack.
Clare and Jack are complete opposites. She is impulsive and creative. He is careful and considered. So, it isn't exactly plain sailing to begin with. But as they start to work together on bringing the shop back to life, they start to resurrect their own joie de vive, and find a deep respect and passion for one another.
With a cast of wonderful characters that add so much joy and colour to the story, Beach Rivals was a pure joy to read.
I really enjoyed this. It was an easy read and the story line kept me up turning pages into the morning. Would definitely recommend to all I know.
Clare is floundering, moving from temp job to temp job after the death of her father, but one day she spots an advert for a 3 month contract to take over a bookshop in Bali and goes for it. When she arrives though, she realises she has to share the job with Jack who she doesn't really see eye to eye with.
Really enjoyed this one, more for the main storyline than the romance element, I mean, I'm a bookworm, this book is basically my dream. I was fully invested in the bookshop doing well, I maybe wanted the book to be slightly longer, I wanted to experience Bali a bit more and the romance side felt a bit of a side story even though it was nice. A brilliant holiday read that I'm glad I saved.
