I am head over heals in love with this book!
I finished it so quickly and gladly lost sleep because I never wanted to put it down. This book pulled me in and didn't want to let go and I didn't want to let it go either. I wish I could read this book for the first time again.
I loved how Jacob and Brianas relationship developed. It felt like you were right there with them seeing every new layer being added to their relationship. Oh and the letters- why does every meaningful relationship not start with longhand letters anymore?!
One of the best aspects of this book for me what the anxiety representation and the way Briana understood and could calm Jacob was just beautiful. Jacobs anxiety was shown in such a natural and genuine way that it made him so relatable. This books also showed the understanding of how anxiety can be perceived by those around Jacob which was such an eye opening lesson - representation at this high level should be shown more in books!
I also loved the extra side characters, from Jacobs family to lieutenant Dan who added a lovely layer and so much fun. I definitly laughed out loud a few times. This is one of those boos that makes you smile and kick your feet a little in excitement so if you want that feeling give this book a chance!
There is also miscommunication in this book which usually does nothing but irritate me however Abby did such a good job of using it to drawn you in and make you root for the characters. Mixed with the fake dating, cinnamon roll main character energy, enemies to friends to lovers, and workplace romance this book should definitly be on your list of books that need to be read!

This is the first time I read an Abby Jimenez book but it won't be the last.
This book felt like a Grey's Anatomy romcom with all the angst and a touch of medical drama. Our main character, Briana, works in the ER and the new guy, Jacob, is pitted against her for a new job opportunity. But with a little fake dating, forced proximity and SO MUCH TENSION, their rivalry lasts all but 2 seconds.
You'll love this book if you like:
- Writing letters to one another to say things they can't say out loud.
- Their story has Derek and Meredith's sticky note wedding from Grey's energy.
- Fake dating where they have to practice PDA and learn about one another through would you rathers.
- The love interest goes completely soft for the main character.
- It's dual POV so you can read angsty scenes from both perspectives and see all the MUTUAL PINING.
- Jacob is a plant mom and Briana is a woman in STEM.
This book also has some fantastic anxiety and trauma rep ad the book comes with some content warnings so do take note.
All in all, I cannot wait to share Bri and Jacob with the world!!! This book deserves all the stars in the universe.

Ok, this is the best romance I’ve ever read. I loved everything about it. The anxiety and mental health rep was so well captured and relatable, that I couldn’t help but nod along as I was reading it. I adored both Jacob AND Briana. I have never liked a female romance protagonist as much as I liked her character. She had depth and I liked being in her head. Jacob was also so refreshing to read. An introverted individual with intense social anxiety. He was so endearing. There was one part in this book that actually made me tear up (which has literally never happened) because it was so emotionally raw and vulnerable.
I’m honestly shocked that I loved this book so much (due to my bad luck with romance books in general). Take all the stars, Abby Jimenez.
PS: thanks NetGalley for an e-arc.

Can you be in love with a book? That’s me right now .in love .this was just magnificent. My favourite book of Abby Jimenez and top read of the year I’m calling it right now. Chef’s kiss.

Thank you to NetGalley Uk and the publisher for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for a review.
Well damn. This was my first Abby Jimenez book and it certainly won’t be my last - I was charmed.
I utterly fell in love with the characters - from Jacob’s relentless kind-hearted wonderfulness, and the realness of his anxiety and how it made things difficult for him… To Bri’s charming charisma and the fierceness of her - the GLITTER ! And alllllll the side characters. Lieutenant Dan most of all, of course. a
Their relationship progression was lovely. I loved their letter exchanges that led to their friendship, into their fake dating - Jacob’s mum (a sex and relationships expert) calling them out, saying it had been a pleasure to watch two strangers fall in love and of course she’d known the whole damn time - obsessed. I loved the fourth wall acknowledgement of the only one bed trope haha. Their banter! Their chemistry! Their adoration for one another! Jacob’s freaking JOURNAL for Briana!!!!! Beautiful!
I’ll echo what I’ve seen other reviewers say - it kind of lost me a little in the third act. Miscommunication tropes are never a win for me and it felt like some of the issues that came up were rather rushed, it felt like they should have been introduced earlier in the story.
Nonetheless - a thoroughly enjoyable romance!
tldr; ADORABLE.

Well, damn. This author has blown me away before but this book… I can’t even. I will need some serious time to recover. It was everything and more. It was real, and relatable and that’s everything you could ever want. I love Jimenez’s writing style; it’s captivating, funny, heartfelt and deep. I loved the MMC Jacob and his battle with social anxiety. Normally I find that books that lean into the anxiety thing, that they gloss over it, make it seem superficial but this was perfection. As someone who suffers from social anxiety, she captured the essence of what it is like living with that devil on your shoulder, how it consumes the parts of your life others wouldn’t even imagine. I adored how Bri knew him, what he needed, how to help him navigate the world. I always say “this is my favourite Jimenez book yet” but this really is. I also love how she interleaves previous books characters into it! Very clever! Bravo
Thank you netgalley for an arc of this book

This was a really warm and lively read that also features some serious issues but in an incredibly easy going approach. Told from the dual perspectives of ER doctors Briana and Jacob who are both really strong characters who each have troubles in their lives but are still really great people, especially with each other. There’s even more great characters in amongst their friends and especially their families and they come across really well. If you’ve previously read an Abby Jimenez book then you’ll know exactly to expect in terms of her brilliant writing style but if not this is a great romance read and although loosely connected to her previous book it’s a solid standalone in its own right. 9/10

If you read the synopsis of this book then you know exactly what you are getting, a cosy romcom that will provide a few hours of escapism.
Yours Truly follows Briana and Jacob as they meet whilst working as ER doctors in the same hospital and the sparks and romance start from there. A very easy read but sweet enough.
The mental health rep in this book is what really kept me reading, Jacob's anxiety and Briana's understanding and patience were the most believable element of the plot and it is great to see this normalised in this genre.

It's been entirely too long since I read a romance that gave me the feels this book did. It was perfect!
We have a beautiful healing story and a lot of mental health rep that came across natural and just portrays that Abby knows exactly how to write a book 🩷
This book gave me Greys Anatomy meets The Wedding Date vibes and as a person who loves both of those things, that made this even better
Thankyou Netgalley and LBBG for the ARC

Literally the best book I ever read, we have been having Abby’s titles here for so long now I think she is one of our most popular authors! This storyline reminded me so much of Nick & Meredith from Greys anatomy. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters and how their situation ended up unfolding. Abby’s books deal with such great issues such as social anxiety, marriage loss, mental health ect. And this was no exception! Much more to come! I loved it
