After a career tanked by a regrettable act of revenge involving her ex’s Audi, she’s been trying to rebuild her life in London, with a somewhat unremarkable job in the world of TV production. But things start to look up when sparks fly with her new neighbour, Jake, and she begins to feel like she’s finally getting her life back on track.

The novel is a delightful blend of romance, workplace rivalry, and personal growth. Amy’s journey towards rediscovering her confidence, while navigating a complicated love life and career struggles, makes for an engaging and often laugh-out-loud story. Jake, the charming downstairs neighbour, adds a lovely romantic spark, and their chemistry is genuine and fun to watch unfold. I particularly enjoyed how the book explored the idea of forgiveness – both of others and oneself – while balancing this with a refreshing sense of humour. The premise, though familiar, is executed with enough originality and warmth to keep the reader hooked.

The pacing is spot-on, and although I found some of the plot points a little predictable, the writing and Amy’s charm more than made up for it. There are moments of real depth amidst the comedy, and I loved how Amy’s past and present collided in such a hilarious and satisfying way.

Overall, *The Sweetest Revenge* is a light-hearted, enjoyable read with just the right mix of romance, humour, and heart. It’s a book that reminds you to embrace your imperfections and find joy in unexpected places. Perfect for fans of romantic comedies looking for something witty, relatable, and full of heart. I picked this up because of the cover and the blurb. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work for me although I can’t explain why. I am however willing to give the author another chance.

I really enjoyed this book! Every book I have read by Lizzy Dent has been fantastic and I find myself not wanting to put them down! A really fun read that I would recommend!

This Lizzy Dent book was another hit. Amy cracked me up. I loved her delightfully awkward character! This book was a fun behind-the-scenes look at TV production in England.

Amy Duffy, a savvy TV development executive from New York, is gearing up for her cousin Ruth’s wedding when her boyfriend—and boss—Chris drops the dreaded words: "We need to talk." Anyone who's heard that sentence knows it’s never a precursor to good news.

Sure enough, Chris delivers a bombshell revelation, leaving Amy heartbroken and alone—at a bar instead of at the wedding where she was supposed to be the bridesmaid. After one too many shots, her night takes a disastrous turn. In a haze of alcohol, she has a cringe-worthy meltdown, and, to make matters worse, someone captures the whole humiliating moment on video and shares it with the world.

As if things weren’t already bad enough, nothing good ever follows a night fueled by that much alcohol.

Fleeing the fallout, Amy escapes to London, where her friend and former colleague, Maggie, helps her land a job. It’s far beneath her qualifications, but at least in the U.K., no one knows her shame. Or so she thinks.

Two years have passed since that fateful incident, and Amy has found her footing in a new role, working in a company where people love to gossip about a hit reality show, *Fantasy Island*, a chaotic competition of influencers and wannabe stars vying for the ultimate prize. Life is relatively calm… until a merger shakes everything up. To her horror, Chris is announced as the new interim boss, sending Amy’s carefully constructed world into a tailspin.

I enjoyed Lizzy Dent’s previous novel a bit more than this one, but this was still fun and great to read at the beach this summer! She writes relatable characters really well, and her novels have great covers!

This is the best Lizzy Dent book I've read so far! I liked Amy as a main character and thought it was interesting that it was set around the TV production world. I thought the romance was sweet and felt genuine.

This was my third Lizzy Dent book, and I am not very impressed. I selected this one because her other two books have been easy 4 star reads for me, but this one just fell short.

Ok, so in romantic comedies what I'm looking for more are engaging and charming characters that I want to follow and root for. Because we all know more or less how the story is gonna go. I did like the little that we saw of Jake even if he was the generic love interest. But I didn't like Amy. She was so naive and childish. Yes, what happened was embarassing but I felt her reaction was too much; she let it dictate her entire life for a really long time. And when she starts to pick herself up, she isn't that good of a person. She is really self-centered and continues on being naive.

The plot is cute enough. But by the end it's a forgettable book.

The plot is engaging, with just the right mix of drama and humor. This book is a warm hug for the heart—perfect for a cozy afternoon read!

This was a good ready. It will not be something I re-read or consider as one of the best books I read this year but I enjoyed it enough.

I was drawn to this book by the fun and cute cover but unfortunately it was a miss for me. My main complaint was with female main character Amy. She just wasn't likable after her "revenge" event at the beginning of the book. Drunk or not, that's just not something I can justify. She never did redeem herself for me so I had a hard time rooting for her happiness.

I was disappointed with this book and almost DNF-ed a few times. I've heard such great things about her other books and this just did not live up to my expectations. I wish the characters had more growth and were more likeable.
